Enrollment plummets at Washington’s
colleges, especially among men

LONGVIEW — In 2019, Washington created one of the most generous college financial aid programs in the country. Compared with a program it replaced, the Washington College Grant allowed many more students to qualify for free or subsidized tuition. No longer would eligible students be denied aid because of caps tied to limited funds. By all rights, the state's colleges should have seen a rush of applicants. Instead, enrollment plummeted. Community and technical colleges experienced a combined 24% drop between fall 2019 and fall 2021. Public four-year institutions saw a collective drop in undergraduates of nearly 7% during that time period

Comments:

Campus administrators are puzzled why fewer people - especially young men - don't want to endure a left-wing, politically correct atmosphere.

Even the best universities are nothing but indoctrination centers for socialist/communist claptrap. Useless claptrap. Better to pursue an education that teaches a specific trade or a profession, one that leads to a job. Men in Washington state apparently recognize this.

sure and why not? the more brains you have in the propaganda pool the more your message of treachery can be disseminated - the state of Washington is on the downhill trajectory to oblivion and as long as they continue to act more like a Communist country the worse off they'll become - too bad for the good people who live there

For decades there has been an overabundance of radicals in Washington universities and the fact that feminist teachers have been poisoning the waters, so to speak, against boys in elementary and secondary schools for many years is reaching their desired outcome.

Seattle Central College requires courses in “Speech/Diversity” and “Social Intervention” for a two-year degree. And students must report their vax status to register. And these people can’t figure out why enrollment is dropping. They’re the ones who need to go back to school - the school of hard knocks!

And they still don't get it. They're running indoctrination clinics not educational facilities. You send your kids there as normal young men and women and they return with rings in their nose, ears and eyebrows, green and yellow hair, waving a multi colored flag and chanting death to conservatives. You send your kids there for an education and you get something back that belongs on a leash. These so called professors all belong in jail for abuse. Got it.....

His parents have done a pretty good job of inoculating him against the marxist ideology so we aren't worried about him becoming a mindless zombie.

I am sure there is a dirty little secret we don't know about yet. It would not be surprising if during Covid 19 would be dropout rates SKYROCKETED, but due to special rules and programs the Education departments were/are willing to pay for another year or two of school so students can get their HS diplomas. We'll see.

This is a gross generalization, something I cautioned my students to avoid, but let me have a go at it. First, undergraduate enrollments are down nationally, in part due to demographics. Second, and with apologies to the homosexual professors, I have seen some nasty behavior on the part of some lesbian women as professors, against male students. I have not seen that kind of behavior by male homosexual professors against female students. And as more male and female homosexuals are hired as professors, schools should try to get a handle on that problem. It would take heightened sensitivity to microagressions on the part of those professors. This post probably would get me fired from most schools, but I believe I am accurate in my assessment of a problem. Schools cannot afford to lose students. And I would add that in my career as professor, I got along as well with homosexual professors as I did with heterosexual professors.

Men follow the money. The money is not with college degrees anymore. Trades are where the money is and they provide job security. Few if any undergraduate degrees today will be able to guarantee an income that can make paying back large loans for school affordable.
