Twitter workers face a reality they’ve

Twitter employees reacted with shock and dismay Monday as a new reality sank in: Elon Musk — the world’s richest man, free speech defender and strong critic of Twitter — would be the company’s new owner. On Twitter, in private messages and in interviews with The Washington Post, employees expressed fear about Musk’s $44 billion takeover. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, along with board chair Bret Taylor, held an internal town hall on Monday afternoon in which the leaders tried to assure anxious staff but offered few direct answers. A central concern was that Musk would attempt to break down safeguards to protect everyday users that staff had built over many years,  CORRECTION*

Comments:

A feel good story. "Some asked whether leadership was concerned about an employee exodus." What - go out into the real world and get a job? I doubt it. It would be like Maxine Waters surviving on her merits.

"safeguards to protect everyday users that staff had built over many years" "Some tweeted tear-filled emoji and memes of people having emotional breakdowns, while others told The Post they were too in shock to speak." Oh, get OVER yourselves. It's a social media site. The only available weapon is words. If you don't like what people are saying about you, stop listening to (using) it. There are lots of other available platforms. "referring to the company’s health division that enforces rules against harmful content such as hate speech and misinformation. “Most find it dispiriting.”" "Health division"? Sounds like "Ministry of Health" which is about anything BUT health. But who could be against "health", right? The REAL issue is that this was a Leftist stronghold, where they could inflict their warped views on the rest of us and we were blocked from responding. It was a "safe" space for Leftists; safe from reality and critical comments. It was like a household run by the children while the parents are on vacation. The adults just came home and the "kids" are understandably very concerned.

Musk will not keep the current management team in place. This is the group who decided to wipe out conservative viewpoints and label anything they disagree with as ‘misinformation’. That’s what Elon says drove him to acquire the company. Employees who will not buy into a new corporate culture will be removed.

There used to be an old saying in politics, "Never pick a fight with a man who buys ink by the barrel." In today's world it might be, "Never threaten to suspend a patron who can buy your company outright." Even though that's common sense in any business, leftists have NO common sense. They'll be lucky to hang onto any enterprise they run.

MSNBC anchor Joy Reid said Tuesday on her show “The ReidOut” that Canada and Mexico should build walls along their borders with the United States because of the number of mass shootings. Network contributor Matthew Dowd said, “They are not ever going to talk about what the problem is, which is access to guns. Access to guns without checks and without mental health confirmation. That’s what you’re going to hear from the Republicans. They will divert it, so they don’t have to talk about the real problem, which is access to guns.”

Because there’s woke, really woke, über woke, and then there’s this: not including subtitles for a movie’s Spanish dialogue because you don’t want to give “English the power over the Spanish.” That’s exactly what director Steven Spielberg did, and why, in his recently released West Side Story (WSS), a “remake” of the iconic 1961 film of the same name. The Biden administration painted a grim picture of the U.S.’s ongoing bout with COVID-19 on Monday as officials grow increasingly concerned with the nation’s current trajectory despite key silver linings in the push to vaccinate Americans. Over the last week, the U.S.’s daily case count has jumped to around 60,000, representing a 10 percent rise in the seven-day average. Coupled with rising hot spots in states such as New Jersey and Michigan, it prompted a new warning from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky that a fourth surge and “impending doom”

The military did not detect previous flights of Chinese spy balloons over the U.S. that took place during the Trump administration, a top general said Monday, due to a "gap" in the Defense Department's ability to track certain airborne objects. Gen. Glen VanHerck, head of North American Aerospace Defense Command, cited the issue as the reason that at least three spy balloon flights were not briefed to senior Trump officials at the time.
