MSNBC host Chuck Todd tore into North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer for parroting former President Donald Trump's comments asking Russian President Vladimir Putin to provide any dirt he has on Hunter Biden. The longtime TV journalist pressed Cramer in an interview for his comments captured by C-SPAN and CNN earlier this week – where he said Russian President Vladimir Putin should 'reveal' any information he has on Biden's son. That comment echoed one by Trump, who solicited information from Putin even as his forces were carrying out a brutal invasion of Ukraine that has displaced millions of refugees.

President Joe Biden said Thursday that record gas prices were caused by the pandemic and Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine as he unveiled a two-pronged plan to increase supply and reduce demand. He announced he would release a million barrels of oil per day from the nation's strategic reserve for the next six months and accelerate the switch to electric vehicle. But his analysis of the cause of the crisis will attract criticism for opponents who accuse him of shifting the blame for his administration's economic woes.

Michael Sussmann is the Democratic lawyer who is being prosecuted by special counsel John Durham for lying to the FBI. Back in February, Sussmann’s attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the case arguing that even if their client lied about who he was working for when he brought information about Trump and Alfa Bank to the FBI, that lie was an “ancillary matter.”
Today, the judge held a pre-trial hearing about the request for dismissal and it sounds as if it didn’t go well for Sussmann.
The bulk of Thursday’s hearing was devoted to a motion by Sussmann’s attorneys to throw out the single-count false-statement charge against their client on various grounds.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is in trouble in Ukraine, and it’s because people lie to him.
That’s the story put out by US intelligence officials, and it has the ring of truth. Apparently, Putin wasn’t told of the miserable state of readiness of Russian troops, the unavailability of spare parts and repair facilities, the shortage of transport, the inefficiency of the Russian air force, the lack of trucks needed to haul ammunition, food and fuel to the front or the surprising effectiveness of the Ukrainian military. There are several historical referents we should keep in mind about the Ukraine war.
First, no-fly zones. Lots of Westerners are calling for NATO aircraft to establish a no-fly zone above Ukraine to stop Russian bombing of Ukrainian cities.
That is a terrible idea. Russian planes can still launch missiles from the nearby airspace of Russia and Belarus. No nation in history has declared a no-fly zone against an adversarial nuclear power.
(snip)Second, regime change. There has been a lot of wild talk(snip)about removing or assassinating Vladimir Putin to achieve “regime change” in Russia.
Here too, the United States has a mixed record, at best—

The Sherlock Holmes question of the week is: Why did the New York Times finally admit that the Hunter Biden laptop was genuine? Here are five possible answers:
1) Roger Kimball suggests it’s a prelude to Joe Biden’s own people removing him from the Oval Office. The laptop clearly indicates that Biden is corrupt, as many said during the 2020 presidential campaign. That “fact” has to be established, and now it has been, albeit in paragraph 17 or 22 or 35 of a long article that many people will never read. It’s now a matter of record in what used to be called “the newspaper of record”—but is now, truthfully, just

Chicago - Democrats are eyeing Chicago as a city of interest to host the party’s 2024 convention and the mayor, the governor and a key U.S. senator are coordinating on a plan to make it happen, the firm helping with a potential bid confirmed to NBC News on Wednesday.

It’s one thing to look at the polls, which are admittedly impressive. As my friend and colleague Matt Margolis wrote earlier on Thursday, DeSantis is basically unbeatable going into his 2022 reelection effort: Against Rep. Now, according to the most recent NBC News poll, it has swelled to 17 — a massive advantage that has foreshadowed devastating losses in Congress in prior years.

A key inflation metric monitored by the Federal Reserve soared 6.4 percent in February compared to a a year ago, reaching a new 40-year high.
The latest price surge, which effected the price of fuel, groceries and other consumer essentials, represents the largest year-over-year increase since January 1982, according to data released by the Commerce Department on Thursday.
Not taking into account food and energy fluctuations, which tend to be more erratic and can overemphasize inflation, the personal consumption expenditures price index, the preferred inflation gauge of the Federal Reserve, jumped 5.4 percent in February from a year prior. Including gas and groceries, PCE surged 6.4 percent.

Democrats should not get away with their shameless political gambit to force Justice Clarence Thomas’s recusal from Supreme Court cases based on the political activism of his wife, Ginni Thomas.
Supreme Court justices are not even subject to disqualification over their own activities that bear directly on cases. I’m torn between skepticism and credulity. On the one hand, this comes from Charles Gasparino, a correspondent for Fox Business. CNN has done so much unflattering coverage of Fox over the past five years that I imagine it’d be irresistible to a Fox reporter to amplify an unflattering rumor about their new streaming project. Even if there’s no hard evidence to support it.
On the other hand, a concept like CNN+ seems doomed to fail quickly, no? Which demographic out there is willing to pay money for more content from a cable network that’s chronically in third place in the ratings? Fox and MSNBC at least can leverage hardcore partisan bases.

Recently, while reading a new biography about the life and contributions to conservatism of my dear friend, Stan Evans, by Steven Hayward, I was enlightened as to the extent of the leg work that both he and William Rusher did to explore the possibility of running a new third-party team of Ronald Reagan and George Wallace in the 1976 presidential election.
Hayward’s well-researched and perfectly toned book, “M. Stanton Evans: Conservative Wit and Apostle of Freedom,” discussed a March 1975 meeting in Alabama at which Evans and Rusher conducted “sort of an interview” with Gov. Wallace as due diligence toward this improbable ticket.

At long last, the mainstream media are paying some attention to the obvious corruption of President Joe Biden’s family and its many business partners, which include the Chinese government and Russian oligarchs. These things have been known for years. Why are the Big Media only now looking into them? And why, not really knowing anything at all about what was going on, do Twitter and Facebook still censor those who report on the Bidens’ questionable overseas business activities? Finally, both the New York Times and Washington Post have been forced to admit that Hunter Biden’s lost laptop is real, CORRECTION*

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) signed several bills into law on Monday designed to scale back advances in radical transgender activism, as well as a 15-week abortion ban.
One bill pertaining to transgenderism effectively bans biological males from competing in women’s sports, while another bill will restrict adults from transitioning minors into a member of the opposite sex. “This legislation is common-sense and narrowly targeted to address these two specific issues – while ensuring that transgender individuals continue to receive the same dignity, respect, and kindness as every individual in our society,”

Former President George W. Bush met with illegal aliens this week to promote his amnesty and legal immigration expansion agenda, snubbing Angel Families who have lost loved ones to illegal alien crime in the process. (Snip) Specifically, Bush touted his efforts over the last year in lobbying Republicans in Washington, D.C. to work with President Joe Biden on not only passing amnesty for illegal aliens but also expanding legal immigration levels beyond the 1.2 million green cards and 1.5 million temporary work visas given out to foreign nationals every year.

‘We are long past the day when a wife’s opinions are assumed to be the same as her husband’s.”So argued Stephen Gillers, a law professor at New York University, in 2013. If the professor’s name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s been cited by seemingly every major media outlet since news broke last week that Virginia Thomas, wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, sent text messages to Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows urging him to fight the 2020 election results. The Los Angeles Times described Mr. Gillers as a “judicial ethics scholar,” and The New York Times dubbed him “one of the nation’s foremost legal-ethics experts.” But

We’ve been covering the Hunter Biden laptop story for the past two years. When Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) brought out more information this week about payments to Hunter Biden’s firm from a company that they called an “effective arm” of the Chinese government, this was not new to our readers as we have extensively covered the Biden contacts with China. Even though Republicans have also been talking about this for the past two years, suddenly the liberal media is reporting on Hunter Biden after spinning and ignoring the issue for most of the time.

You cannot make this up. Okay, at MSNBC, you can because that’s what you must do to appease your Democratic Party overlords. The network's only reason for existing is to keep liberals from having extreme heartburn. Yet, even with this piece of comedy, you can’t polish how bad Joe Biden is doing. Even CNN had a piece shredding the pivot they tried to pull here. Are you ready for this? They said that Joe Biden’s approval ratings are garbage despite a “booming economy.” (Tweet)

In the final days before what appeared to be a neck-and-neck 1980 election, Republican Ronald Reagan landed a haymaker against President Carter by asking a simple question: "Are you better off today than you were four years ago?" Americans were not, and Reagan ended up beating the incumbent Democrat in a drubbing — carrying forty-four states, taking 489 electoral votes (snip) As we near what looks like his return to battle for the 2024 election, though, a potent six-word slogan reminiscent of Reagan's rhetorical thwack is inescapable: Were you better off with Trump?

The father and son duo hailed as heroes for fighting off a pack of goons robbing an elderly woman near their Queens pizza shop said Wednesday the city’s crime scourge has forced them to take public safety into their own hands. “People have to protect themselves, because the government is not doing it,” Cazim Suljovic, 68, told The Post from his bed at Elmhurst Hospital, where he’s recovering from a punctured lung and nine stab wounds. “There is no law. This is why the people do it. You can stand outside your own door, with many people in the street, and you’re still not safe.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is crushing his potential Democrat challengers in the Sunshine State’s upcoming gubernatorial race, a Saint Leo University survey released this week found.
DeSantis, who has continued to ignore leftist critics and pursue policies empowering individuals and parents alike, is soundly defeating his potential opposition by double digits. In a potential matchup against Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL), for example, DeSantis leads by 16 percentage points — 49 percent to Crist’s 33 percent.
Similarly, DeSantis crushes one of his most outspoken opponents, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D), by 24 percent, or 51 percent to her 27 percent support:

More elected Democrats, representing America’s border communities, are pleading with President Joe Biden to enforce Trump-era border controls to protect their constituents from a massive wave of illegal immigration.
On Wednesday, Biden officials spoke anonymously to the Associated Press, revealing that the administration has plans to end the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Title 42 order that gives federal immigration agents broad authority to quickly return border crossers and illegal aliens to their native countries. As a result, Biden officials are readily admitting that about half a million border crossers and illegal aliens are expected to show up

Phoenix - Arizona’s Republican governor signed a series of bills Wednesday targeting abortion and transgender rights, joining a growing list of GOP-led states pursuing a conservative social agenda.
The measures signed by Gov. Doug Ducey will outlaw abortion after 15 weeks if the U.S. Supreme Court allows it, prohibit gender confirmation surgery for minors and ban transgender girls from playing on girls and women’s sports teams.
Bills targeting abortion and transgender rights have been popular with the conservative base in states where Republicans dominate but could be politically risky in a battleground state where Democrats have made significant inroads.
Ducey also signed the first
