With midterms elections in North Carolina starting in about six weeks, more than 60,000 registered voters in the state are dead, registered in another state or registered twice under variations of their name, according to a new watchdog report. The report released Tuesday by the Public Interest Legal Foundation, a nonprofit law firm focused on election integrity, in one example found 7,933 North Carolinians are still registered to vote after having died in 2020."North Carolina officials need to use the time they still have to prepare voter rolls for the midterm elections," foundation President J. Christian Adams said. "Time is running out.

I don't think the 2020 election is quite what 1 Corinthians 15-52 had in mind: "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

I'm willing to bet that Pennsylvania has a huge number of multiple registrations for individuals. I live in Maine and one of my sons who hasn't lived here for 15 years is still on our voter list. .I asked our Town Clerk about his name not being purged and she said that they only way they could remove it is if he came to the office with ID and asked for it to be removed or if the Pennsylvania municipality where he votes notifies them that he is now a registered voter in Pennsylvania. Apparently, when he registered to vote in Pennsylvania, they didn't bother to notify Maine.

This is the crucial point in any mail-in ballots scenario where they simply mail a ballot out to everyone on the voter registration list. They FIRST need to ensure the list is accurate, and should be able to prove it with reasonable certainty. Which is why I'd recommend ending any late registration, or same--day registration since they can't be verified. After all, candidates have to file to run by a certain date, so why shouldn't voters be held to similar regulation. Also, any drop-box ballots should be held in reserve to be counted later after verification with strict chain of custody rules - why are they less for that voting option as compared to other voting options (in-person)? Would seem a violation of equal protection, or something, since two separate rules in voting would be used.

Title 42 is a public health provision that was invoked by the Trump administration in 2020 at the onset of the COVID pandemic, allowing for the expedited removal of people crossing our borders illegally. Back in 1967, the Reedy Creek Improvement District agreement was created to lure Disney to Florida. The agreement allows the district governmental powers to facilitate recreational projects and tourism. Florida's legislature felt that it would benefit the state if recreational organizations had the power to act as their own government in areas like property development, water control, public utilities, law enforcement, and fire protection. The mouse eagerly took the cheese, and today most of the land is owned by Walt Disney World. It's been a pretty sweet deal (snip) Now Florida legislators are threatening to pull those special privileges if Disney continues to strike at HB1557

They will reduce gasoline consumption by more than 220 billion gallons over the life of vehicles, compared with the Trump standards. They're expected to decrease carbon dioxide emissions—but not as much as some environmentalists want—and raise new vehicle prices
