White House ignores its Hunter problem

It is hardly vindication of The Post’s flawless reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop that 17 months late, The New York Times has admitted the laptop is real. It is an indictment of the Times and a betrayal of their readers who were kept in the dark about the true nature of Joe Biden before the 2020 election. But now that we are all on the same page, there are some serious questions the administration needs to answer, which go to America’s national security at a time of international peril. Question 1 Biden’s press secretary, Jen Psaki, refused to answer The Post’s White House reporter

Comments:

They can only ignore it if the MSM allows them to. And they are.

No wonder it's awkward explaining last week's two hours with Xi. How much of the conversation focused on the "10% guy"?

Mayor Eric Adams declined Tuesday to weigh in on disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s potential comeback bid after he resigned last summer under threat of impeachment. During an unrelated press conference, Adams was tight-lipped when asked for his reaction to Cuomo’s recent reemergence and speculation he might launch a run for office. “He has to make his decision,” the mayor told reporters. “As I stated, I thought it was important for him to step down at the time, and I thought it was the right decision, and now he will make the determination on what he’s going to do with his life in the future.”

The address Congress by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday was passionate and emotion-provoking; I get it. Zelenskyy has charisma, is clearly courageous, and along with his fellow Ukrainians is holding his own against despicable Russian dictator Vladimir Putin against all odds. One could excuse Nancy Pelosi for being fired up and breaking out her Zelenskyy pompoms the next day. But an appropriate reaction from the House Speaker might have been to publicly call on President Biden to handover the fighter jets which Zelenskyy has been begging for, and for which Biden has inexplicably refused. What did Ms. Pelosi do instead? Yup, she read us a poem

Ukraine has killed another Russian general in a further “serious blow to the morale” of the invading forces, a government adviser said Wednesday. Maj. Gen. Oleg Mityaev died Tuesday during the storming of Ukraine’s most devastated city, Mariupol, according to Interior Ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko — who later posted a photo of the body. Mityaev would be at least the fourth general killed during the invasion, which Kremlin officials are reportedly calling a complete “clusterf–k.’’ Mityaev, 46, commanded the 150th Motorized Rifle Division and had fought in Syria, Gerashchenko said, saying his body was found with “the shoulder straps of a major general.”

A Russian man was not lovin’ it that McDonald’s was about to shutter it stores in the country amid the invasion of Ukraine – so he chained himself to one of its eateries in Moscow in a last-ditch attempt to keep it open. The Golden Arches fan, identified as Luka Safronov, was filmed staging his protest hours before the burger giant was set to temporarily close its 850 restaurants in Russia, the Mirror reported. “Closing down is an act of hostility against me and my fellow citizens!” Safronov reportedly yelled as customers flocked inside to grab their last Big Macs and other staples before the chain closed down its operations.

When evaluating candidates for the week’s top knucklehead, or in assessing any political issues, we generally try to avoid focusing on family members of a public figure. Consider that despite her best efforts, First Lady Jill Biden has never made it to the top spot. It’s also worth noting that most spouses of elected officials tend to keep a low profile. Can you remember the last time you had an opinion on Nancy Pelosi’s husband or Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s wife? But with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s husband Chasten, his actions this week were too much to ignore.

President Joe Biden announced on Friday he will revoke Russia's 'most favored nation' trade status over its invasion of Ukraine, another step in the series of harsh economic sanctions he and U.S. allies have imposed on Moscow. And he vowed Russian President Vladimir Putin would pay a 'severe price' if he uses chemical weapons in the Ukraine and said U.S. troops would not join the fight as not to provoke World War III. Biden announced Russia's change in status of a trade partner in lockstep with the fellow G7 nations to make it an even heavier burden on Moscow to carry. The move will also deny Russia the ability to borrow money

Another Russian general has died, and other senior army officers have either been killed or wounded in fighting in Ukraine this week — only adding to what Kremlin officials are reportedly calling a complete “clusterf–k.’’ Russian Maj. Gen. Vitaly Gerasimov and some senior officers were struck down in fighting in Kharkiv on Monday, days after Gen. Andrei Sukhovetsky was killed by a sniper, Ukrainian officials said. The blows to the Russian army’s top echelon occurred even before Russian government officials were already calling Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine “a clusterf–k,” a report said.

A wrenching snapshot of the tragic family’s bodies in the aftermath of a Sunday attack on Irpin captured the world’s attention. A man also seen in the photo lying on the pavement was later identified as a family member who died, too. “A family was killed in [Irpin] today. A man, a woman and two children. Right on the road. … When they were just trying to get out of town. To escape,” Zelensky said, speaking in Ukrainian in a broadcast late Sunday.

With President Biden’s disastrous State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, a very strong argument could be made to declare our esteemed Commander-in-Chief as the week’s top knucklehead – again. But that would be akin to beating a dead horse… with our apologies to dead horses. So, we’re going to cut Sleepy Joe a break this week and opt instead for that stellar sidekick of his: the one and only, Vice-President Kamala Harris. Winner: Vice-President Harris thinks we’re all third graders and tells us, accurately, that we got what we voted for. Kamala Harris hasn’t had many good weeks during her 13+ months

Video of the plane nosediving into the ground and the aftermath has emerged. As is expected with any video of this kind, viewer discretion is advised. Much is unknown at this point, but I am a commercial multi-engine pilot and a flight instructor so I can add a few points of speculation to ponder. According to the flight data available, the rapid descent started at around 30,000 feet. That would point to either a structural failure that caused a loss of flight controls or a high-altitude stall

Curley also said Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, required black people to show identification or else face questioning at the Mountain View, California campus, Reuters reported.
