President Joe Biden announced on Friday he will revoke Russia's 'most favored nation' trade status over its invasion of Ukraine, another step in the series of harsh economic sanctions he and U.S. allies have imposed on Moscow. And he vowed Russian President Vladimir Putin would pay a 'severe price' if he uses chemical weapons in the Ukraine and said U.S. troops would not join the fight as not to provoke World War III. Biden announced Russia's change in status of a trade partner in lockstep with the fellow G7 nations to make it an even heavier burden on Moscow to carry. The move will also deny Russia the ability to borrow money

Comments:

Can you be more specific about that "severe price" Joe? You're banning diamonds, vodka and caviar, so is the "severe price" a ban on mink coats? Putin must be really scared.

When JFK imposed the embargo on cuba, he first secured for himself a stack of boxes of cuban cigars. I wonder how successful it was. In any event it seems too late for sanctions to force a Russian withdrawal. The issue was lost when the Afghanistan withdrawal was so mishandled. Or perhaps when Poopy the Clown and Chuckled the Clownette were elected.

These are the doings of Xi-Den's voters and the state governments that stuffed their ballot boxes by destroying their election integrity in 2020. When evaluating candidates for the week’s top knucklehead, or in assessing any political issues, we generally try to avoid focusing on family members of a public figure. Consider that despite her best efforts, First Lady Jill Biden has never made it to the top spot. It’s also worth noting that most spouses of elected officials tend to keep a low profile. Can you remember the last time you had an opinion on Nancy Pelosi’s husband or Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s wife? But with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s husband Chasten, his actions this week were too much to ignore.

There is an additional feature of that poll that deserves notice, as highlighted in the Journal’s article about it: The survey also found Republicans making gains among minority groups. The two parties had been tied among Hispanic voters in the Journal’s survey in November. Democratic margins also eroded among Black voters, who favored a Democrat for Congress by 35 percentage points in the new survey, down from 56 points in November.
