The Russian invasion of Ukraine isn’t going as easily as I think Vladimir Putin thought it would go.
As we noted earlier, they are facing some tough fighting from the Ukrainians as well as thousands of protesters in Russia who have come out against the war. That’s quite something, given the oppressive state of Russia and how they would face immediate retribution. Yet, protesters have come out anyway.
Ukraine fought back to recapture an airport the Russians had taken. So, Russia isn’t going to be able to do what they wanted because they haven’t met the goals they were trying to meet by now – which was to seize all

A brave Ukrainian woman voiced the outrage of her nation today as she confronted heavily armed Russian soldiers and demanded to know what they were doing in her country. The woman shouted at two of the invaders: 'What the f*** are you doing in our land?' while one of the embarrassed soldiers in Henichesk, a port city on the sea of Azov, tried to calm her.She walked away, then called back: 'You should put sunflower seeds in your pockets so that they will grow on Ukranian land after you die.'On Twitter, she was hailed for her courage, with one admirer commenting: 'The bravery is amazing! Thank you! We stand with you!'

Thursday afternoon, nearly a day after Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, President Joe Biden finally addressed the public. Whatever the reason for the delay, it certainly did nothing to dispel the notion that the administration had been caught flat-footed.
Yes, they had been “predicting” an invasion for the better part of a month, but that’s a far cry away from having an actual strategy in place to deal with such one. Regardless, Biden took the podium and delivered remarks in which he touted a new sanctions package that he claimed would be devastating for Vladimir Putin.
But, with the emergence of more details on exactly what is and isn’t

Last night, Russian President Putin shared the following before invading Ukraine and bombing airports and other locations throughout the country. Here is a snippet of Putin’s speech last night announcing his decision to send the Russian military into Ukraine: Citizens of Russia, friends,I consider it necessary today to speak again about the tragic events in Donbass and the key aspects of ensuring the security of Russia.I will begin with what I said in my address on February 21, 2022. Explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv early Friday as Russian forces pressed on with a full-scale invasion that resulted in the deaths of more than 100 Ukrainians in the first full day of fighting and could eventually rewrite the global post-Cold War security order.
After using airstrikes on cities and military bases, Russian military units moved swiftly to take on Ukraine's seat of government and its largest city in what U.S. officials suspect is a brazen attempt by Russian President Vladimir Putin to dismantle the government and replace it with his own regime.

Washington- Biden administration will significantly loosen federal mask-wearing guidelines to protect against COVID-19 transmission on Friday, according to two people familiar with the matter, meaning most Americans will no longer be advised to wear masks in indoor public settings.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday will announce a change to the metrics it uses to determine whether to recommend face coverings, shifting from looking at COVID-19 case counts to a more holistic view of risk from the coronavirus to a community. Under current guidelines, masks are recommended for people residing in communities of substantial or high transmission — roughly 95% of U.S. counties, according to the latest data.

The main argument presented by Vladimir Putin for his all-out war on Ukraine certainly sounded strange to Western ears, and especially to Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky. In his address to both Ukraine and Russia, Putin insisted that Russian security relied on the “demilitarization and de-Nazification of Ukraine.”
“How can I be a Nazi?” Zelensky replied. Zelensky not only is himself Jewish, but as he pled in return, his grandfather fought for the Russians against the Nazis:
Addressing the Russian public directly and in Russian, his native language, Zelenskiy said: “The Ukraine on your news and Ukraine in real life

I have contended frequently that our jury system is woefully defective because unscrupulous prosecutors and personal injury lawyers can easily find uninformed and easily manipulated rubber stamps as opposed to the educated and responsible citizens envisioned by the Founding Fathers. Examples include, in my opinion, the prosecution of Kyle Rittenhouse despite the prosecution's own stipulation that the three men he shot were not only the initial aggressors but pursued Rittenhouse when he tried to retreat from the conflicts they started. Another was Scott Harshbarger (D-Mass.)'s prosecution and conviction of the Amiraults "to protect the children."

The word “inspiring” does not come to mind as a way of describing President Biden’s afternoon speech following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “Dispiriting” comes closer. The best Biden could do rhetorically was to declare that “America stands up to bullies” — as though the most dangerous moment in the past 20 years on the planet Earth were some kind of remake of the old movie “My Bodyguard.”Come on, man. Putin isn’t a bully. He’s either a lunatic pursuing a nation-murdering delusion or a man possessed of a world-historical ambition to make himself an equal in Russian history to the Greats, Peter and Catherine,

We have war in Eastern Europe, financial markets around the world are plummeting, and innocent civilians in the sovereign nation of Ukraine are being slaughtered by a bloodthirsty dictator, Vladimir Putin, who is clearly doing as he pleases without any fear of repercussions. This is the type of situation where people from around the planet look to the president of the United States – aka, the Leader of the Free World – for strength, competence, and leadership. So, let’s consider: Is that what we’re seeing?

Former President Barack Obama issued a message of support for President Joe Biden on Thursday, urging Americans to unite behind economic sanctions against Russia.
“Every American, regardless of party, should support President Biden’s efforts, in coordination with our closest allies, to impose hard-hitting sanctions on Russia,” Obama said in a statement sent to reporters, defending Biden’s sanctions as a serious attempt to put “a real price on Russia’s autocratic elites.”
Obama’s statement of support for Biden follows his own failure to stop Putin from annexing Crimea in 2014 when he was president.

Joe Biden said some unbelievable things during his remarks on Thursday about Russia’s invasion in Ukraine.
Chief among them was this remark that jumped out to many: that “no one expected sanctions would prevent anything.” Huh, what? Then what has the Biden team been talking about, by threatening sanctions over the past month? If they thought that, why have they just been talking about sanctions?
Why did Kamala Harris claim that the sanctions would deter Putin?Biden also tripped over White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who said the same thing. She even claimed that the sanctions had worked, as we observed.
Boy, what earth-shattering consistency they have there, right?

All Ukrainian border guards manning a tiny island in the Black Sea near Romania were killed on Thursday after telling a Russian warship to 'go f*** yourselves' when they were ordered to surrender.
The small contingent of soldiers, allegedly 13 in number, were posted on Snake Island in the Odesa region and were defending the territory after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In a radio message, the soldiers were told by a sailor on board the vessel: 'This is Russian warship.

Western elites believe their governments must become more dictatorial in order to compete with technocratic despotisms like China. If you think Joe Biden is capable of exerting any image other than one of abject weakness, you can safely put that possibility out of your mind. He isn’t.
Not only has he shown a level of cravenness in dealing with Putin in Ukraine over the last year, he has demonstrated an equal lack of guts in dealing with our most important security challenge: China.
China is a bad actor that we have coddled for way, way too long. US companies operating in China were coerced into relinquishing intellectual property and subjected to predatory financial practices. China’s intelligence operations

What the h*** is going on? Katie wrote this up earlier today, but Biden’s presser was a disaster. He admitted that the sanction doesn’t scare Russia. We’re deploying another 7,000 troops to Germany. Yet, the one move that could be a gut punch move is booting Russia from the SWIFT banking system which will prevent them from doing international commerce. Why are we holding that card in reserve? Biden says the new sanctions he’s going to roll out are just as devastating. I don’t know about that, but we seem to be stuck in neutral. More troops to Europe and more sanctions. None of this is stopping the war

First, Putin moves on neighboring former Soviet republics when the world price of oil is high, and his coffers are full. So he went into Georgia in 2008 and into Eastern Ukraine and Crimea in 2014 (snip)

In the states and cities where immunity passports are still required, people have been told that they need to be “fully vaccinated” to be in compliance. For most people, that means two initial shots spaced three (for Pfizer) or four weeks (for Moderna) apart followed by a booster shot roughly six months later. Of course, those definitions have been changed by the CDC on a regular basis. They recently suggested that the boosters should be given as soon as four months after the initial injections because people’s immunity was fading too quickly. But now they’re even walking back the spacing of the initial two shots, at least for some people.

Ukrainian troops are this afternoon fighting Russian forces for control of the Chernobyl exclusion zone, 60 miles north of the capital Kiev, amid fears the battle could damage storage facilities holding nuclear waste sparking a fallout that could blanket Europe.
Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the ministry of interior affairs, said shortly before 3pm that Russian forces entered the zone and were 'vigorously' fighting with border guards units. 'If storage facilities are destroyed, the radioactive cloud could cover Ukraine, Belarus and the EU,' he said.
Meanwhile Turkey reported that one of its ships had been hit by a 'bomb' off the coast of Odessa,

Americans stuck in Ukraine fled the war-torn country on buses this morning after Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded the country with a torrent of airstrikes that none of them thought would happen. DailyMail.com spoke with a group of 23 American citizens as they were being transported from Kiev to Romania in two vehicles - a minibus and a car - arranged by Bryan Stern, a 23-year Army and Navy veteran who saved 2,000 people from Kabul last year with his volunteer group Project Dynamo. He collected the American evacuees at 5am in Kiev while 'missiles fell from the sky' around them. They are now driving for 18 hours to Romania,

Sen. Mitt Romney condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in a statement late Wednesday that also took a shot at both of America’s last two presidents, including a famed line thrown at him by Barack Obama. The Utah Republican blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on a decade and more of U.S. weakness, also alluding to former President Donald Trump’s foreign-policy slogan.
“Putin’s impunity predictably follows our tepid response to his previous horrors in Georgia and Crimea, our naive efforts at a one-sided ‘reset’ and the shortsightedness of ‘America First,’” he said. Mr. Romney once was ridiculed by Mr. Obama, when the two men faced off

I received an email from a guy named Adam Frisch. He’s running for Lauren Boebert’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. You remember Boebert. She’s the owner of a local Colorado institution called “Shooter’s Grill.” Naturally, it’s located in Rifle, Colorado.
Boebert says and does things that trigger Democrats. Such as wearing a sidearm to work – both her former work in the Grill and her current work in the House. She doesn’t suffer fools lightly, but insofar as I know she doesn’t shoot them.

As I expected, I got a bit of flak for my last article from people who do not want to believe that American life in the 1950s was far more vibrantly social than it is now, and that the basis of that sociality was the strength of the family. I was not saying that the 1950s were ideal—no time is. (Snip)
Nevertheless, you can tell a lot about a people by looking at what they take for granted—things that are “by the way”—their pastimes, their folkways, their songs, their humor, where they go when they have nothing to do, how they greet their neighbors, and so forth.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky called on citizens to defend the nation as his Interior Ministry reported that there have been hundreds of casualties since Russia began its nationwide assault early Thursday morning.
“We are issuing arms to all those capable of defending our sovereignty,” Zelensky said during a televised address from Kyiv, in a translation broadcast on CNN. “Each citizen of Ukraine will decide the future of our people. Anyone with military experience who is able to join the defense of Ukraine must report to call-up stations.”
Zelensky added that Ukraine will not “cede its freedom.”

It finally happened and everyone should have seen it coming: Russian bombs are now raining down on Kiev, -- and Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Mariupol -- making Ukraine a full-blown war zone with reports of civilian and military casualties piling up.
Long lines of cars are streaming out of the country. Russian troops are pouring in from multiple directions. Ukrainians with kids are hiding in basements. Missiles are raining down. Back in Moscow, long lines are streaming at banks as desperate locals seek to get their money out before it's either devalued to nothing, frozen in sanctions, or otherwise expropriated. Cyberattacks are taking down

There is a certain symmetry to the notion that the spokesmouth for the failing Biden administration reportedly is being assiduously courted by the two failing cable news networks, CNN and MSNBC, both of which have endured near-catastrophic ratings declines in the era of Biden. In December 2019, Tulsi Gabbard was a Democratic presidential candidate who called then-President Donald Trump "unfit" to serve as commander in chief. Nikki Haley, meanwhile, was considered a (very) early favorite for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, beloved by Trump supporters and establishment Republicans alike.
Fast-forward to February 2022, and Gabbard is speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where Trump will headline the annual gathering of conservative activists and many of the most prominent Republican figures in the country. Haley won't be attending.

Yearning to breathe free has become an offense in Canada punishable by arrest. The extreme measures taken by boy Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in breaking up the truckers’ protest should appall every person in this country. But one group of Americans overwhelmingly approves of Trudeau’s jackbooted crackdown. In another time they’d be called the agents of tyranny, but for now they’re still known as Democrats.
Rather than sitting down with the truckers demonstrating in Ottawa to civilly discuss their grievances and seek a peaceful end to their takeover of the capital’s downtown, Trudeau instead launched “an unprecedented violation of civil rights.”

The onset of last night’s carnage in Ukraine came after one of the more absurd displays we’ve seen by members of our federal legislature during House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s weekly press briefing yesterday, led by one of the more familiar faces among House Democrats.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) may be best remembered for his repeated nonsense with the Russia Hoax during the Trump presidency. He rose to national fame (or infamy) when he appeared on CNN on a seemingly nightly basis to claim that he had new evidence showing President Donald Trump had colluded with Russia. It got to the point where his appearances seemed like satire, but they weren’t.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A child sex offender wanted for shooting a sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed by an armed homeowner when he broke into a West Palm Beach home early Saturday morning, according to the West Palm Beach Police Department.
The suspect broke a window at the home and climbed inside around 4 a.m. When the unlucky burglar turned on the bedroom light, the couple sleeping inside were awakened.
The couple, a 44-year-old man and 53-year-old woman, confronted the intruder, and resulted “in the intruder being shot by one of the residents,” according to the West Palm Beach Police Department.

On Wednesday’s broadcast of “NBC Nightly News,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the U.S. has hit Russia “hard” with sanctions, he has reason to believe Russia will be engaging in something similar to a full invasion of Ukraine before the end of the night, and “everything is in place for Russia to move forward.”
Host Lester Holt asked, “Do you have reason to believe that, before this night is over, Russian forces will be engaged in something akin to a full invasion of Ukraine?”
Blinken answered, “I do. Unfortunately, Russia has positioned its forces at the final point of readiness across Ukraine’s borders, to the north,

In the wake of the Freedom Convoy in Canada, there’s a convoy of American trucks heading to Washington, D.C. in time for next week’s State of the Union address.
I guess we’ll get a chance to see if the American left can be as tyrannical and authoritarian as Canada’s ruling Liberal Party has been.
The Capitol Police is getting ready to flex its authoritarian muscles already.
“Law enforcement agencies across the National Capital Region are aware of plans for a series of truck convoys arriving in Washington, DC around the time of the State of the Union. As with any demonstration, the USCP will facilitate lawful First Amendment activity,” announced a press release

Twitter admitted Wednesday it had accidentally suspended several accounts from Ukraine and elsewhere that were reporting on Russian troop movements and military operations.
“We’ve been proactively monitoring for emerging narratives that are violative of our policies, and, in this instance, we took enforcement action on a number of accounts in error,” a Twitter spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “We’re expeditiously reviewing these actions and have already proactively reinstated access to a number of affected accounts.”

What do Russian collusion, Hunter Biden's laptop, and Covid-19 vaccine mandates all have in common? They are all misinformation spread by the American propaganda media.
The very young often fantasize that they will perform some great accomplishment that benefits humankind when they get older.
A field that offers that kind of personal reward is journalism, having over 6,500 individuals employed in the United States. Many enter journalism knowing that the financial rewards may not be as attractive as other vocations, but the impact on society can be significant.

It’s one of the most awkward twenty seconds ever captured on video in a disastrous administration that lurches from one awkward moment to another: when asked “Do you think you may have underestimated Putin?,” Old Joe Biden first continued to stare in the general direction of the question, a slight smirk on his face, expression absolutely unchanged from what it had been before the question was asked. A few seconds later he turned his head to face the camera and, after a few more seconds, grinned sardonically. A few seconds later, he began picking his teeth with his thumbnail, and then grins

At least one criminal case that Democrat activists filed against Trump may be ending with a whimper. You may recall that there’s a criminal fraud case against Trump in Manhattan. To the New York Times’s manifest despair, it seems that there is no evidence of an actual crime. Things are so bad that two of the lead prosecutors on the case quit when the District Attorney expressed serious doubt in the case.
In 2018, Cyrus Vance, Jr., Manhattan’s then-District Attorney, charged the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, with tax fraud allegedly related to overvaluing properties to obtain bank loans.

As RedState reported earlier, Secretary of State Antony Blinken shared on Wednesday evening that he believed Russia would fully invade Ukraine within hours. That has now been confirmed by none other than Vladimir Putin himself.
Per an announcement from the Russian president, his military forces are moving into greater Ukraine, including Kyiv, in order to “demilitarize” and “denazify” the sovereign nation. None of this is hypothetical anymore. Explosions are being heard in multiple Ukrainian cities. It is clear that a major military attack is underway. Putin also levied some disturbing threats against the west, seeming to suggest he would be willing to use nuclear weapons

It has begun. The Russian invasion of Ukraine started Wednesday night (U.S. time) with evidence that dictator Vladimir Putin intends to take more of the country than just the Donbas territory in the eastern part of the country. That evidence came in the form of explosions in the capital Kyiv during a CNN live shot of correspondent Matthew Chance on the roof of his hotel, forcing him to don a flak jacket.
Chance was reporting on a speech Putin had delivered to the Russian people just minutes before as the reported cruise missiles started to drop in the distance:
Essentially and saying that any responsibility for bloodshed

Wednesday, on the heels of reports that Russia had launched a “full-scale invasion” of Ukraine, former President Donald Trump proclaimed Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have acted in this way under his leadership.Trump blamed the Biden administration, and the show of what he suggested was weakness, which started with the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. “This is something that should have never happened,” he said. “This would not have happened during my administration. According to reports on the ground, Russia is invading Ukraine tonight.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who is the vice-chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, tweeted that the invasion is now “underway.”
“In the hours to come #Russia will… conduct strikes on air defense systems… move to cut off #Kyiv from eastern #Ukraine… move to cut off Ukraine’s military forces on the line of contact in the east to prevent them from falling back to defend Kyiv,” Rubio tweeted. In addition, Kan News correspondent Amichai Stein tweeted that Ukrainian airspace is shut down.

Former President Donald Trump has, for the second time in two days, praised Russian President Vladimir Putin as 'smart' for his strategy in Ukraine as the Kremlin's 'special military operation' began. Trump, speaking at a super PAC fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, spoke off the cuff about the impending military action Wednesday night. The former president spoke about America's enemies during the crisis, saying: 'Now they laugh at us. That’s why you have Ukraine, that’s why you’re going to have China. Taiwan is next, and you’re going to see the same kind of thing.'
