Thousands of political activists gathered for the opening of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday morning, as its organizer said its theme of 'awake not woke' captured the mood of people angry at being told what to do.Once again Donald Trump is the headline speaker as he seeks to retain his grip on the Republican Party ahead of run in 2024.His son Don Jr will close the event on Sunday afternoon, while likely 2024 contenders have other coveted slots such Gov Ron DeSantis - whose rivalry with Trump provides a key subplot - and Gov Kristi L. Noem of South Dakota.

Way back in the day, remember 20 Mule Team borax ads? They were the sponsors for radio dramas, popular as a limited source of entertainment. The drama part could have been any slap dash script, just keep the housewives happy. But truly, it was all about the selling of soap. I get tired of pols, media, news talking heads, etc., trying to sell me their brand of soap. Please just talk to us like were a nation of adults who just want to know the truths of what is happening to our country.

I second all comments so far. Schlapp and the other yapping chihuahuas really think that their brand of government is any different from the Dims. It isn't. It's just the same people (with very, very few exceptions) saying the same things and failing to do anything they said they would do. This was epitomized during the Bush years. THEY will crush or compromise anyone who doesn't get in the line. They are almost to a man and woman disgusting whores.

I was tired of the Republicans telling me what to do before the Biden administration. I am tired of the CEO's and health industry telling me what to do for the last 2 years.

They need to stop deflecting away from the democrats by pointing to "the Biden administration", or "Biden" comments.
Remember, at no time did ANY democrat push back against the liberal/progressive agenda over the last 2-3 years. NONE. Most even supported defund the police, some even gave bail money to funds so they could help release people quicker into the community.
Every House district and Senate candidate needs to make sure they keep a regular reminder for the constituents. Don't let up either.
Make sure you push hard for general order to pass spending bills instead of using the Continuing Resolution process since 2007-08 fiscal year. Otherwise, you can't control spending.
Ask if any government program, department or agency ever ends.
Ever solves the problem or fixes the issue.

It was Dubya Bush who made us buy ethanol and who took away our incandescent light bulbs, left we forget. And added on many layers of obscenely intrusive (patriot act) and expensive (no child left behind, Medicare Part D, mortgages for illegal aliens that the taxpayer got to pay to get the banks off the hook). Sick of the lot of them.

To sum it up simply, there is a musician out there that put it together quite well, he started with "Am I the only one" You can carry it from there.

PDJT would have maintained his grip on the Republican party if he had at least attempted to start a new political party with the 71 million (? not sure anymore of the numbers) voters who voted for him. Everyone said it wouldn't work, but how do you know until you try it. We have needed a new conservative party for years.
