Atlanta—A federal cybersecurity agency is reviewing a report that alleges security vulnerabilities in voting machines used by Georgia and other states and says the document shouldn’t be made public until the agency has had time to assess and mitigate potential risks. Two journalists working for the United Nations have been detained in Kabul, the global agency said in a tweet Friday — with reports of at least eight other Westerners also detained in the war-torn nation.
“Two journalists with UNHCR and Afghan nationals working with them have been detained in Kabul. We are doing our utmost to resolve the situation, in coordination with others,” the UNHCR said in a tweet.

Health officials in the Canadian province of Ontario are expected to announce an easing of pandemic restrictions on Thursday that have prohibited schoolchildren from participating in extracurricular activities — including sports such as hockey and basketball — since September 2021, the Toronto Star reported citing anonymous sources.

Lawmakers continue to work on a fix for the cattle markets with growing frustration in the country. South Dakota Senator John Thune says its understandable cattle producers would be upset with the recent news of JBS striking a $52.5 million settlement on beef price fixing when the Justice Department hasn’t released any information or conclusions on their ongoing investigations.
He says he regularly pushes DOJ to get some conclusion to their pending probes because producers need some action.
Thune hasn’t decided yet if he will support the Grassley Fischer compromise bill because he has concerns about the negotiated cash cattle mandates taking a marketing option off the table for some producers.
I do try not to get angry when government actors confirm my belief that they are lowly human beings not worthy of respect. Rep. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) has tried to play the pure one — the one who is only siding with the Democrats because she was concerned about the Constitution, the one who wants to bring the Republicans back, and away from President Donald Trump. She stated outright the most important thing was to make sure he wasn’t able to run again.
Now, that’s just so much nonsense. If you were siding with the Constitution, you would know to fight the Democrats at all costs because they are doing all they can to suborn the Constitution and move the country further left.

Co-host Sunny Hostin drastically overstated the percentage of coronavirus deaths among younger people during a Tuesday discussion on the liberal daytime talk show over the lifting of mask mandates in schools.
Hostin said she didn't want her children to be part of the "one percent" of those who get intubated and die from COVID-19,

You couldn’t miss the headlines: The annual percentage increase in inflation clocked in at 7.5%, making it the worst increase in 40 years. Joe Biden has tapped an LGBTQ+ activist, drag queen “pup” fetishist to be the deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Energy Department’s Office of Nuclear Energy.
The Politico reported the news on Thursday: (snip) Sam Brinton, according to his profile on an LGBTQ website, has “a dual Master’s degree in engineering systems and nuclear science and engineering from MIT.”
In his spare time, Brinton also enjoys roleplaying as a “pup handler,” and talking about having sex with animals. His drag queen alter ego is “Sister Ray Dee O’Active,” The National Pulse reported. Brinton is reportedly the son of Southern Baptist missionaries
Earlier this week, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger released a statement in response to a complaint from Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who says the USCP illegally entered his office, took photos, and later interrogated his staff. According to Manger, “The weekend before Thanksgiving, one of our vigilant officers spotted the Congressman’s door was wide open.” As such, Manger said it is the responsibility of the USCP to document the incident and secure the office.

The Biden administration is putting out new details on its effort to create 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations–with new efforts to push out funds to have them line interstates at 50-mile intervals. The administration is awarding $5 billion over five years to states to have them build thousands of electric vehicle charging stations. Another $2.5 billion will go out in grants to be decided later. It all comes from the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan that was enacted late last year and that the administration continues to sell, amid the collapse of Biden's Build Back Better plan. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whose tenure in Albany ended last August after a sexual harassment probe from the state attorney general’s office, announced Thursday he plans to file formal ethics complaints against Attorney General Letitia James and the lawyers who led the independent investigation into the harassment allegations.
In a press conference, Cuomo attorney Rita Glavin said Cuomo would personally file the complaints himself as he claims James and Joon Kim and Anne Clarke all committed prosecutorial misconduct.
“The governor feels strongly that there was misconduct in the manner in which this investigation was conducted,” Glavin said.
