ABC daytime gabfest "The View" has produced plenty of melodramatic commentary, viral moments and occasional outright misinformation on the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are 10 examples. 1. Sunny Hostin suggests ‘1 percent' of youths who get COVID-19 will die Co-host Sunny Hostin drastically overstated the percentage of coronavirus deaths among younger people during a Tuesday discussion on the liberal daytime talk show over the lifting of mask mandates in schools. Hostin said she didn't want her children to be part of the "one percent" of those who get intubated and die from COVID-19,
It’s Time To Ask: Did Any Of The COVID

With COVID deaths now topping 910,000, the Biden administration and the rest of the Democratic left are deciding to ease up on their mandate regime. We need to learn to live with COVID, they say – repeating advice President Donald Trump issued back in October 2020. We’re all for ditching the left’s COVID police state, even if Democrats’ reason is political, as we pointed out in this space yesterday. But that leaves us with a question: Was any of it worth it? Did any of the guidelines, mandates, orders, shutdowns, cancelations, lockdowns do anything to alter the course of the disease, or

President Biden said Thursday that he won’t send US troops into Ukraine to evacuate Americans if Russia invades — saying that the action could trigger a “world war” and “things could go crazy quickly.” Asked in his first TV interview of 2022 if there’s a scenario that would result in him sending US troops to help trapped Americans, Biden told NBC News anchor Lester Holt, “There’s not. That’s a world war when Americans and Russia start shooting at one another.”

You couldn’t miss the headlines: The annual percentage increase in inflation clocked in at 7.5%, making it the worst increase in 40 years. (snip) real inflation is probably even worse than the accelerated rate suggests. That’s because, in 1990, the government changed how it calculated inflation (something it also did in 1980). John Williams’s Shadow Government Statistics calculates inflation as it would have been calculated before 1980 and before 1990. According to his numbers, inflation would have been over 15% using pre-1980 metrics and over 10% using pre-1990 metrics. You don’t need the numbers, though, to tell you what you already know.

On Thursday’s CNN Tonight, host Laura Coates went on an unhinged rant over the battle in Congress to renew the so-called “Violence Against Women Act” (VAWA). Coates also lashed out at the National Rifle Association (NRA) for blocking the “boyfriend loophole” which would prevent someone who is convicted of a misdemeanor or felony from owning a firearm regardless of whether the couple is living together or not. “It's frankly unbelievable that we even need to have a Violence Against Women Act, but we do.

A heavily-armed Taliban fighter stood eye to eye with Aman Khalili, suspiciously scrutinizing the former US forces interpreter who helped Joe Biden's 2008 rescue in a bleak snow-filled valley in Afghanistan. As the fanatic flicked through mugshots on his cell phone, Khalili knew that if his face popped up, he was dead, and his wife Amina and five of their children traveling with him would probably be killed as well.He was a hunted man who would be a trophy for the new regime that swept up the country in the wake of President Joe Biden's chaotic withdrawal. But after a few terrifying seconds,

Earlier this week, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger released a statement in response to a complaint from Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who says the USCP illegally entered his office, took photos, and later interrogated his staff. According to Manger, “The weekend before Thanksgiving, one of our vigilant officers spotted the Congressman’s door was wide open.” As such, Manger said it is the responsibility of the USCP to document the incident and secure the office. There’s just one problem with this explanation: (snip) This is the exact door @CapitolPolice claims their officer found “wide open” on that Saturday. The door automatically closes. See for yourself. How could this door be found wide open?

The Biden administration is putting out new details on its effort to create 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations–with new efforts to push out funds to have them line interstates at 50-mile intervals. The administration is awarding $5 billion over five years to states to have them build thousands of electric vehicle charging stations. Another $2.5 billion will go out in grants to be decided later. It all comes from the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan that was enacted late last year and that the administration continues to sell, amid the collapse of Biden's Build Back Better plan. The charging stations would work with all electric vehicles

New York Gov. In a press conference, Cuomo attorney Rita Glavin said Cuomo would personally file the complaints himself as he claims James and Joon Kim and Anne Clarke all committed prosecutorial misconduct. “The governor feels strongly that there was misconduct in the manner in which this investigation was conducted,” Glavin said.

New York—Mayor Eric Adams has made his position clear: city employees have to be vaccinated against COVID-19. But more than two dozen unions—including police, fire and teachers—are asking courts to block what will lead to mass firings. Angry municipal workers, who filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court, argue that Adams’ mandate doesn’t specify that unvaccinated employees should be fired. Instead, they argue, alternatives like weekly testing and remote work should be offered. About 95% of the city’s 370,000 workers have received at least one vaccine dose.(Snip)Municipal workers have argued the city has no right to decide what’s best for their health,
