Actor and superyacht enthusiast Leonardo DiCaprio told Deadline planet Earth has “literally” nine years left on its “ticking clock,” and that “we should not have any elected leaders, on a state level, on a city level, or a national level that don’t listen to science.”
In the Titanic star’s latest Netflix film Don’t Look Up, two astronomers (played by DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence) go on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy Earth. But instead of taking the astronomers seriously, the comet becomes politicized. The film goes on to make several thinly veiled references to the Trump

I seem to recall in the early 1980's the weather folks on TV were talking about a relatively unknown weather patter called El Nino. They knew about it, but didn't seem to know that much about it though.
Would seem to require some new science to investigate and research, right?
I also understand most of the models that are predicting much of the calamity don't actually show the same results when input with actual data from the years that have gone by already. Hmmm... wonder if that should be taken into consideration.
Wasn't there a very large ice sheet that covered most of Canada, and a large portion of the Northern Midwest states about 10,000 years ago? Couldn't you say the climate is still changing, or is always changing?
Lastly, the touted Paris Accord, only targeted the year 2100 to meet the goals, which is still 78 years away.
So, if the new criteria is saying there are only 9 years left, then why the rush to re-enter the obviously flawed Paris Accord?
And if you have only 9 years left, have all of the public works bonds been amended to indicate this so investors can clearly assess this risk?

Anyone who talks about the earth "literally" having nine years to live and then goes on a rant about listening to science is a nut case.

9, not 10, not 12. 9 . Hysterics from the user of private planes and the renter of huge state of the art yachts. Will he be using solar powered jets ? Will the 318 foot, 48,000 horsepower yacht change over from diesel to electric?
Life is rough.

I know zip about science but do realize this - those huge explosions in Tonga are putting more smoke and ash in the air than a billion cars or cow farts. It will eventually circle most of the globe. It will cause a cooling of the earth for a bit. Maybe not major but I remember the summer after Mt. St. Helens exploded. Yeah, we had summer, but it was somewhat milder than normal.

“We’re all crossing our fingers that Biden can make one of the more substantial plans to at least implement renewables,” DiCaprio said. “So, vote. Vote for people that are sane.”
Thinking that Biden is “sane” is insane. As to DiCaprio’s “only 9 years left” delusions, it does explain why this nearly 50 year old is on a mega yacht with a 24 year beauty who is wearing in an incredibly revealing micro bikini. He believes his own nonsense. One can be certain that he is planning on collecting $35 million per movie for the next 9 years if not longer.

Not one single prediction made by the eco “scientists” and activists over the last 50 years has actually come to pass. With a record like that it amazes me that anyone at all would give them a nano-second of attention.

You know, we need to give President Trump a big THANK YOU.
When he took office in 2017, we were told the earth had 10 years left.
It's now 2022. Leonardo says it's 9 years. Sounds like President Trump added four years to the earth's survival during his term.
Of course, Sleepy Creepy Crooked President Uncle Joe will probably screw that up as well.

9 years, Leo? Funny how the gvt. of the Maldives (the lowest island chain in the world, literally feet above sea level) has recently completed construction of not one, not two, but FIVE new airports to accommodate international travelers! I guess they don't believe the BS, Leo. Go sail your superyacht there and go yell at them. They'll tell you to take a flying @@@@ at the moon, you imbecile.

Wait, in 1988 Sam Malone said we only had 10 years. Those ten years plus an additional 24 have come and gone since then. Lovely how Hollyweird publicity whores continue to pull fear mongering numbers out of their butts just before they fly off in their private jets leaving a massive carbon footprint in their wake.

Earth 'literally' has nine years left?
What a stupid thing to say.

The climate change crowd isn't listening to science. All they have is propaganda. They are liars.

DiCaprio is to climate change what Tom Cruise is to Scientology. Neither of them is particularly well educated but they are wealthy public figures and useful idiots who support religious belief systems that promote apocalyptic prophecies. There are virtually no legitimate environmental scientists who support the AGW orthodoxy that DiCaprio evangelizes. Much of the money supporting the Apocalyptic Environmental movement comes from large oil companies who know that as long as wind and solar alternatives are pushed it will keep serious discussion of nuclear power from threatening their oligopolies.
The irony of this cult is that warming temperatures with increased CO2 is actually benefitting world food production and improving the health of billions of humans in developing countries. If you want to worry about something, worry about the Earth's orbit and axis tilt that wobbles over a period of 10,000-15,000 years and results in ice ages that reduce growing cycles and lead to widespread extinctions in the past. We are overdue for the next one. Having excess CO2 in the atmosphere provides a safety margin for the inevitable next period of cold temperatures and serious reductions in CO2 that can literally kill the planet's biological systems.

What does he know about science? If Leo thinks Fauci, as an example, is a scientist then he is as wrong as Fauci. In the scientific world the answer is either right or wrong and not subject to change as the wind blows. Faui has been wrong and so are these global warming alarmists. Antarctica, is getting colder and the latest news is the earth's core is getting colder also.

This is why they are actors, they live in a fantasy world. Their whole career is guided by scripts written by others and they learn a little about a lot of things and then think they are experts. When speaking in an open forum the mumble and sound like the idiots they are. He talks about climate change and science. No science supports what he says and the fact is, their science is really a religious cult. They talk about climate change where they can control the weather like you change the thermostat in your house. The man is delusional at best. Got it..
