It’s not clear if this is a misunderstanding, an attempt to make President Biden look bad or just a CNN screw up. This afternoon a CNN national security correspondent claimed on Twitter that a fellow CNN correspondent had been given an account of President Biden’s recent conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to an unnamed source, Biden had said a Russian invasion was virtually certain and that Kyiv could be ‘sacked.” The actual report with those details was made on Jake Tapper’s show by reporter Matthew Chance:

But the official White House account of the call was very different and the White House specifically pushed back on the CNN report.

Washington - A federal court has rejected a plan to lease millions of acres in the Gulf of Mexico for offshore oil drilling, saying the Biden administration did not adequately take into account the lease sale's effect on planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions, violating a bedrock environmental law.
The decision Thursday by U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras in Washington sends the proposed lease sale back to the Interior Department to decide next steps. The judge said it was up to Interior to decide whether to go forward with the sale after a revised review, scrap it or take other steps.

The Biden administration decided to send all Americans free COVID-19 tests to address the omicron surge. So far, the ordered tests are getting delivered unless you live in an apartment. As our editor Paula Boylard noted, those living in colder parts of the country may also have their tests left out in the cold. The COVID tests are not supposed to be stored in temperatures under 36° F. Fox’s Bill Hemmer received the four tests he ordered and noted another odd feature. According to Fox News:

“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform,” he told them. “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”
Well, Spotify chose Joe Rogan.
According to a report from Wall Street Journal, the streaming giant is “in the process of removing Neil Young’s music” from the platform.
“I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines—potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them.” Spotify chose to honor their $100+ million contract with Rogan
President Biden's approval rating dropped to 41 percent in the latest Pew Research Center survey as the president hemorrhages support with key voting groups.
The Pew survey, published Tuesday, found Biden's approval rating was down from 44 percent in September and significantly lower than the 59 percent approval rating he had in April.
"Biden’s job approval numbers have declined across most demographic groups since September," the survey found.

The coming midterm elections are not looking good for Democrats. In fact, short of some kind of divine intervention, Joe Biden’s party is going to get absolutely boat-raced. It could stack up to be a wave election that makes 2010 look like child’s play, and I don’t say that lightly.
In the midst of that hostile environment, numerous Democrat incumbents have announced their retirements, which is usually a sure-fire sign of coming doom. You may recall all the articles from 2018 noting how Republican retirements were a very bad sign. Indeed, they did precede a blue wave, and the reverse is now occurring in 2022.

Lancaster Online reported Tuesday that agents with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, (ATF) seized firearms from an Amish farmer in Pennsylvania’s Leacock Township.
The seizure of the firearms occurred earlier this month.
Lancaster Online indicates the ATF’s action revolved around the farmer, Reuben King, allegedly selling firearms without a license.
King admitted that he had sold some firearms, but stressed that they were mostly long guns that other Amish could use for hunting. He noted that he sold some to non-Amish too.
He added, “I was not dealing in handguns, positively not.”
