Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) has reportedly resumed negotiations with the White House on President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda after essentially torpedoing it before the Christmas break.
According to Axios, sources confirmed that the senator has reportedly engaged with the White House “on the climate and child care provisions” in the president’s signature piece of legislation “if the White House removes the enhanced child tax credit from the $1.75 trillion package — or dramatically lowers the income caps for eligible families.”
Sen. Manchin has not publicly confirmed whether or not he has resumed negotiations with the president.

He will vote for it. The Democrats never quit. The GOP never thinks of anything to start.

It's all Kabuki theater. Manchin is up for reelection in 2024, so he gets to go back to WV and say he fought for "concessions" from Dementia Joe, the MSM gets their fake news about all the drama, Dementia Joe looks good to the demorats. Everybody wins but America.

They already have to remove all the immigration crap from it per the parlimentarian. The bill would already have to go back to the House for reconciliation. Now they would have to remove the massive child tax credits which will require the House to revote for stripping both things out. Either is a poison pill in the House - the Squat will never support removal of either provision after Nanzi shafted them to move the infrastructure garbage.
Manchin knows all this. He is happy to toss it back to the House, where it will fall apart. I understand everyone is upset about this, but Manchin is playing the long game on this.

Joe Manchin likes being the center of attention. That is why we don't want him to join our Swamp Gang of Eight Idiots and become a Republican. He cannot resist sticking his finger in the eye of leadership. Please don't encourage him to join the GOP Swamp Creatures.

There is so much bad in that bill that it will be a disaster for most of the nation. The removal of charitable contribution deductions from the tax code, replaced by union dues deductions, means that most charitable giving will dry up. I'm surprised that the various church denominations haven't mentioned this. Maybe they are so clueless they don't pay attention.

Mitt Romney was bought cheap, but Joe Manchin is holding out for a bit more.
And he'll get it, so he'll vote for BBB.

The Biden Administration has frequently pushed the narrative about this or that 'difficult' polititian, usually while the look for leverage to "make him/her see things our way..."
Its like the mafia, but more diseased and disgusting - like swimming in a sewage tank.
