New York Attorney General Letitia James slammed former President Donald Trump's children, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr., after ABC revealed they are refusing to comply with the subpoena in her investigation over whether their father committed fraud by misrepresenting his company's asset values.'Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump are trying to stop my office from interviewing them under oath as part of our investigation into the Trump Organization and Mr. Trump,' James tweeted. She added: 'Over two years of delay tactics won't stop our investigation because no one is above the law.'

After that has happened I'll worry about the Trump family.

Allow me to use a personal example to show what Letitia the Wicked Witch is doing to the Trump organization.
Mrs. Lakerman and I own a residence which we purchased 18 years ago for 229,000 dollars.
And since then, we have spent a significant amount of money - perhaps 50,000 dollars, in order to avoid the great personal shame of owning a 'dated' home, as they would say on HGTV or one of those other damnable remodeling series that Mrs. Lakerman can't live without.
Our house is currently assessed at 220,000 dollars, our homeowner's insurance company tells us we have to cover full replacement cpst of 550,000 dollars.
And if we chose to borrow money, using the house as collateral, the value might be closer to 400,000 dollars.
Now take those different values and apply them, in theory, to DJT's real estate operations, where he leverages debt using real estate holdings, and you should be able to see the game NYS and NYC are playing against the Trump organization. It is obscene and perverted, just like Letitia's view of the law.

Their claim is that they overvalued the properties to get bank loans...
IF that is a problem for the Banks
A) it was up to them to do due diligence before offering the loans
B) it can only be a problem if the loans were not paid, or the property is now worth LESS, substantially Less than the loan amounts.
If it is not a "problem" for the Banks, and THEY are not suing...WHY would the AG SDNY be doing so?
If she wanted to make a REAL difference, over substantially MORE money...She would be investigating whether Colleges OVER hyped the value of services they offered and suckered unwitting students into ridiculous Loan amounts, directly from Govt/taxpayers.
Trump is one of NY's largest Taxpayers, job creators, charity givers...even bailing the city out and showing them how to operate public parks and facilities at a profit, THEIR profit, not his.

It’s just another rabbit hole to cast public doubt ( of the weak minded) on the Trump family. Psychologists have shown during the pandemic that people of Democrat persuasion have no reasoning ability and will believe what their leaders say regardless of how ridiculous it may be. Nothing new here as we have long known that liberalism is a mental disorder.

Letitia probably doesn’t know that there are several kinds of “values” when it comes to real estate. Assessed value (for tax purposes). replacement value (for insurance purposes) . And then there are market value and market price, for which I must quote to get it right:
Market price
Market price is what a willing, ready and bank-qualified buyer will pay for a property and what the seller will accept for it. The transaction that takes place determines the market price, which will then influence the market value of future sales. Price is determined by local supply and demand, the property’s condition and what other similar properties have sold for without adding in the value component.
Market value
Market value is an opinion of what a property would sell for in a competitive market based on the features and benefits of that property (the value), the overall real estate market, supply and demand, and what other similar properties have sold for in the same condition.
(The latter two definitions are borrowed from here: https://www.inman.com/2015/03/26/the-difference-between-market-price-and-market-value-in-real-estate/)
Are any banks pursuing this with the Trump organization? Did they ever? Or is this just Tish’s Witch Hunt?

A read of her Wiki page is interesting. Classified as an “activist”, she represents the Working Families Party, has never been married, has no partner and has supported trans athletes.
Part of that bio talks of her legal activism:
She was appointed the first Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Brooklyn regional office in 1999. While working in that position, James worked in many capacities but notably focused on consumer complaints involving predatory lending and other unlawful business practices.[13]
Unhappy pol out to get those nasty capitalists.

@37, thank you.
I, too, worked in insurance, for about 4 years, and I am in the process of resolving the ridiculous matter.
The insurance company dinged me in another way. There is an earthquake fault line a few miles off shore in Lake Erie, running parallel to the southern shoreline. And when we purchased our house in 2004, I included earthquake coverage on our homeowner's policy.
But at some point, the insurance company changed my deductible on earthquake damage, from 500 dollars to 50,000 dollars. And if they informed me of the change, I was not paying attention.
