House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to step down at the end of this Congress after nearly two decades in Democratic leadership, and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries is the new favorite to lead the party. While Jeffries, N.Y., chair of the House Democratic Caucus, is the favorite, the debate over who will succeed Pelosi, Calif., could lay to bare the deep divide between progressives and moderates. Future leaders of the party could differ in their ideas for how to counter the GOP, as they brace for the possibility of serious losses in the midterm elections.

She's afraid she might actually lose her next election; I hear that many people in SF finally have come to their senses and have seen their once beautiful city turn into a toilet (literally). Crime is rampart, homelessness is rampart and their once nice quality of life is past horrible.

I guess she will retire to Florida and kick up all sorts of crap there. She's after DeSantis. Florida is a whole other world compared to California. She'll have her butt handed to her on a platter.

FTA: 'She understands how to get things done and how to keep us together, even if it looks a little bit messy from the outside,' the member said. 'I think there's a real fear that without her, there's a world where we ended up like the Republicans under [Ohio's John] Boehner and then [Wisconsin's Paul] Ryan, where no one could keep them together.'
Say what you will of Dems, but they have a point. First, I hadn't thought about these two clowns in a long time, and now reminded and in retrospect - it is appalling how badly we'd been served by them. And we do NOT stick together when it matters most. It's not compromise or negotiating for the best possible outcomes for ALL of We the people; it's rino-ism and self-serving petty power plays. And WE republican constituents allow it. We get what we deserve. Look at our reps and senators. The whole lot of them are snake-y.

Steny Hoyer will not be a happy camper. He thinks he is owed the top spot.
Pelosi will go down in history as the Speaker who lost control not once, but twice.

She will retire with the dubious distinction as the only speaker of the house in the history of America that stood behind the president and ripped her copy of the state of the union in half putting on display for all to see, her toxic and demented hatred of our duly elected president.

I will believe this when I actually see this slag do it. She has been playing this game since the first time she lost the leadership position, but then she cannot get off the power drunk she is on and ends up staying.
There is a huge rift in the Commie Party right now, and a change in 'leadership' would probably fracture it even worse if the Squat doesn't get their way. Jeffries is not going to be radical enough for the Bernie wing of the party.

Figured Nancy was getting ready to leave when she bought the house in Florida to beat the high taxes in California.
Hakeem Jeffries?? Come on. That's insane.
I admit the Democrats don't have much to pick from, but Hakeem Jeffries?

Allow me to correct the headline:
"In an overwhelming rebuke of her and the Party she represents, the American people have thrown Nancy Pelosi out of the Speaker position".
The bigger question is not who will be minority leader but will Jim Jordan or David Nunes become Speaker instead of the insufferable Kevin McCarthy.
Angry Hakeem will find out from that knife in his back that he's just a bit too uppity to lead the Dems as some old white guy takes over instead.

As bad as she is, Jeffries would be about 20 times worse. I figured the rumors are true now, given she bought her retirement estate in Florida. She might harass DeSantis publicly, but in private, she is glad somebody is giving residents a break. If Jeffries gets the spot, it is going to be an even bigger nightmare.

Does anyone know for sure that she plans to live in Florida? She may only be using the residence to lower her taxes. Taxes in Florida are much lower than California. The Kennedys claim to be residents of Florida when it suits them for tax purposes. When Rose Kennedy died, she was declared a resident eliminating inheritance taxes for Teddy. Pelosi is corrupt, greedy and devious and takes advantage of any scheme where money is involved.

The woman is ancient...this was fairly anticipated, if not predictable. Her lemon is out of juice. After TEN TRILLION has been approriated and "spread around", the future is small potatoes, more trouble than it's worth.
The UNIPARTY will take care of the future, as it always does. They dumped Trump and replaced him with Charlie McCarthy's brother, thus keeping the radicals at bay. If the Republican GOPe grabs the majority in either chamber of Congress, it really gets jammed up so the rads can't move anything. Meanwhile, the UNIPARTY will keep the conflict going, with both sides grabbing the boobs' contributions...if the Republicans only had the White House...or, the House...or, the Senate...

The expected TSUNAMI of republicans would NEVER make her speaker-- AOC and her demonrat marxist minions have been running the party and the extremists are going to be our of favor...
A bigger question is whether the new republicans will put old "deal making, back-stabbing" RINOs back in authority like McCarthy.
ITS TIME to either clean the crap out of the RINO stables, or jettison the corrupt ' elites OUT ON THEIR BUTTS and re-take the party of Lincoln-Reagan!
If things don't radically change and we get the same old bait and switch, its time for a THIRD party made up of hard working middle class people to be formed who are out for their family and children and grandchildren to have a land like they grew up before it is destroyed from within by the media, the socialists and the cultural wackos

I've read that the story about Pelosi purchasing that swanky Atlantic shore $25 million house was just a rumor and has now been debunked. Just saying.
I've seen Jeffries on Fox News Sunday at least once, in the midst of one of those phony impeachment debaucles. Not the brightest crayon in the box.
