Nancy Pelosi expected to 'step down next
year': Democrats prepare for civil war
between factions with Rep. Hakeem Jeffries
the favorite to become the new leader

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to step down at the end of this Congress after nearly two decades in Democratic leadership, and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries is the new favorite to lead the party. While Jeffries, N.Y., chair of the House Democratic Caucus, is the favorite, the debate over who will succeed Pelosi, Calif., could lay to bare the deep divide between progressives and moderates. Future leaders of the party could differ in their ideas for how to counter the GOP, as they brace for the possibility of serious losses in the midterm elections.

FTA: 'She understands how to get things done and how to keep us together, even if it looks a little bit messy from the outside,' the member said. 'I think there's a real fear that without her, there's a world where we ended up like the Republicans under [Ohio's John] Boehner and then [Wisconsin's Paul] Ryan, where no one could keep them together.' Say what you will of Dems, but they have a point. First, I hadn't thought about these two clowns in a long time, and now reminded and in retrospect - it is appalling how badly we'd been served by them. And we do NOT stick together when it matters most. It's not compromise or negotiating for the best possible outcomes for ALL of We the people; it's rino-ism and self-serving petty power plays. And WE republican constituents allow it. We get what we deserve. Look at our reps and senators. The whole lot of them are snake-y.

Allow me to correct the headline: "In an overwhelming rebuke of her and the Party she represents, the American people have thrown Nancy Pelosi out of the Speaker position". The bigger question is not who will be minority leader but will Jim Jordan or David Nunes become Speaker instead of the insufferable Kevin McCarthy. Angry Hakeem will find out from that knife in his back that he's just a bit too uppity to lead the Dems as some old white guy takes over instead.

Does anyone know for sure that she plans to live in Florida? She may only be using the residence to lower her taxes. Taxes in Florida are much lower than California. The Kennedys claim to be residents of Florida when it suits them for tax purposes. When Rose Kennedy died, she was declared a resident eliminating inheritance taxes for Teddy. Pelosi is corrupt, greedy and devious and takes advantage of any scheme where money is involved.

Seventeen alleged gang members responsible for a spate of shootings, including four murders, were charged in an 118-count indictment in Brooklyn on Tuesday, officials announced. The defendants, 14 of whom are teenagers, are accused of hunting down rival gang members and committing a series of armed assaults, killing four people and wounding 10 in the process, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office said. (Photos) “One of the most disturbing aspects of this case is the age of the defendants in this indictment. Some of them were as young as 14 or 15 years old” when the crimes were committed, said Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez at a news conference.

Riots? What riots? Insurrection in American cities in 2020? Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. Thus it is with the Stalinesque show trial that is the January 6 Committee. As my colleague Melissa Mackenzie illustrated yesterday, “the Democrats are running their committee like a criminal trial.” It is indeed blatantly unconstitutional and no one is attempting to stop them. Why?What is particularly telling about the hysteria over January 6 is that infinitely worse riots took place across America in 2020 — a series of genuine and decidedly violent insurrections in the name of Black Lives Matter — and there is nary an investigation in sight.

A lengthy New York Times editorial over the weekend has set the stage for this week’s Jan. 6 anniversary coverage. “Every Day Is Jan. 6 Now,” declare the Times editors, warning that Republican lawmakers in 41 states “have been trying to advance the goals of the Jan. 6 rioters — not by breaking laws but by making them.”The argument itself, that tweaking state election law is somehow a subversion of democracy, is absurd and incredibly lazy. But it’s important to note, if only because it will serve as the baseline narrative for the entire corporate media’s Jan. 6 coverage this week.Their message — they will all have more or less

As pledged, Chicago Public Schools will cancel classes on Wednesday but keep schools open for students. Schools had resumed in-person learning Monday following the two-week winter break.
