Inflation numbers for October 2020 to October 2021 came in at a staggering 6.2%. Much of that increase, of course, has occurred under this current administration. That number is up dramatically from the 2% inflation rate that was recorded from October 2019 to October 2020 during the Trump Administration. For many years, including during the Obama and Bush II years, inflation hovered around 2-3%. That was always the target the Federal Reserve set as their goal to keep the economy humming without it overheating and causing inflation. This now makes two articles today that I have to assure you aren’t satire. In short, we all know what CNN is insinuating here.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wants to reestablish a World War II-era civilian military force that he, not the Pentagon, would control. DeSantis pitched the idea Thursday as a way to further support the Florida National Guard during emergencies, like hurricanes. The Florida National Guard has also played a vital role during the pandemic in administering Covid-19 tests and distributing vaccines.

Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to lead while other Republicans cower in the corner. With the rise of the so-called “Omicron” variant of COVID (they skipped the Xi variant for obvious reasons), the Florida governor has chosen to double down on policies that actually make sense.
Lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates simply haven’t produced results in other parts of the country. Michigan, led by Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, serves as the latest example with the state now having the highest COVID case rate in the nation. In comparison, DeSantis has rightly decided that it’s better to follow actual data and real-world results than to abide by the gospel of Fauci.
Women have come a long way.
Surely, there was a time when some didn’t want to be women.
Early in America, they weren’t allowed to vote.
But they gained that right, and upward they went.
Then bras were burned and independence espoused.
Later — some might say — they replaced men as the less-maligned sex.
And now…they don’t want to be women.
Such is the case for select sojourners, and it’s an issue at a women’s college in Virginia.

Vice President of the Lower Austrian Medical Association Gerrit Loibl has suggested that the government should levy a monthly fine of up to €100 to anyone unvaccinated.
Loibl has suggested that those who have not been vaccinated should pay between €90 and €100 (£78-£84/$90-$113) per month to the government, claiming that the amount is based on the current tax on tobacco products.
The proposed monthly fines would be part of Austria’s already announced vaccine mandate for all residents that is scheduled to begin in February of next year.

The assailant has been identified as Darrell E. Brooks, a “rapper” with a long history of criminal conduct.A look at Brooks’ criminal record is eye-opening and includes counts related to domestic and sexual abuse. Videos on his social media also point to him having black nationalist views, including promoting the “revolution.”

I had to go back and hit the NBA and LeBron James one more time today, sports fans. Target-rich environment, you know. Besides, this one was just too good to pass up.
Let’s start at the beginning of the larger story.

The surprise victory of Republican Glenn Youngkin to become the next governor of Virginia shocked the political world earlier this month. Down double digits just months prior, Youngkin surged back into the race in the final weeks, eventually defeating heavily favored Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
Youngkin didn’t make his comeback by prioritizing the normal slate of GOP issues. Rather, he focused like a laser beam on the culture war surrounding leftwing school boards and the harm they are causing to children. That strategy led to big shifts in Loudoun County and other bluish, suburban areas, with the assumption being that Youngkin was a different kind of Republican.
Now, before you lose your mind over the title and the thought of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) at a swinger’s bar, let me explain. The name of the bar that she was at was Swingers.
The reason they call it Swingers is because, in addition to fancy cocktails and high-end street food, they have an adults-only mini-golf course or “crazy golf club,” as they call themselves. On the course, you are encouraged to drink, so Pelosi should fit right in.

Last night, ABC aired its Alec Baldwin interview regarding Halyna Hutchins’s death. It was already old news that Baldwin claims that, while he cocked the gun, he did not pull the trigger. The surprise was his confession that he feels no guilt whatsoever for what happened because it was everybody else’s fault, not his. (snip) ‘I’m just showing. I go, ‘How ‘bout that? Does that work? You see that? Do you see that?’
‘And then she goes, ‘Yeah, that’s good.’
In other words, it was Halyna’s fault that the gun was aimed in her direction.
Baldwin also claims he had no responsibility for there being a live bullet in the gun.

Steven Spielberg’s long-awaited remake of Stephen Sondheim’s hit musical, West Side Story, is raising eyebrows after the director decided to release the film without subtitles to help English-speaking audiences follow along with the Spanish dialog.
Spielberg and writer Tony Kushner decided to hew toward authenticity for the scenes involving the Puerto Rican characters and have them speak in Spanish in many of their scenes. However, Spielberg also decided to forego subtitles to help strictly English-speaking audiences understand what the characters are saying in the Spanish-only and mixed Spanish-English scenes, The Blast reported.
Some Spanish-speaking commenters on Twitter were thrilled that Spielberg was excluding English-speakers from understanding the Spanish scenes.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) flexed its social justice muscles this week when the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition released a new video advertising the various causes that the organization will push. The parents of the 15-year-old charged in this week's deadly shooting at Michigan's Oxford High School have been charged with four counts each of homicide involuntary manslaughter.
The charges against James and Jennifer Crumbley were filed Friday morning in 52nd District Court in Rochester Hills.
It is rare for parents to be charged like this, CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig said.
