Smith & Wesson to move headquarters from
Massachusetts to Tennessee

Original Article

Smith & Wesson is moving its headquarters from Massachusetts to Tennessee, citing the southern state's "unwavering support of the Second Amendment" as well as its lower cost of living. The decision to depart New England was "an extremely difficult and emotional" one, Mark Smith, the gun-maker's president and CEO, said Thursday in a statement. The company, based in Springfield, Massachusetts, since 1852, will spend $125 million on the relocation, it said. As many as 750 jobs will move from Massachusetts, Connecticut and Missouri to Maryville, Tennessee, by the summer of 2023, according to Smith & Wesson.

Comments:

Massachusetts wants to make production of semiautomatic pistols and rifles--representing 60% of their profit-- illegal, which leaves their revolvers as the only guns they're allowed to make. So they're moving to Maryville, Tennessee, between Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains NP. Kimber Arms of Yonkers, NY recently announced their move to Troy, Alabama. One does not need to wonder why.

Good for S&W. No sense in staying where you aren't wanted. I am sure Tennessee will appreciate the high paying jobs.

Fantastic. The lefty idiots in Mass hate guns. I predict that less than 10% of the workers will move to Tennessee. Massachusetts folks largely think that Tenn is entirely populated by low grade morons with no teeth and a third grade education and couldn't imagine living there. S&W will find a fine skilled work force that loves their products and will be thrilled to be making them. Lower taxes, lowers land costs, lower heating costs, lower wage costs and perhaps a chance to dump the union. Great news.

Always liked their revolvers, and was broken hearted when they buckled under to the Klinton cabal. I quit buying S&W guns for a while and was ashamed to be seen with them. Now things are better. This will be a good move. Massachusetts was once a great American state, but no more. As long as the employees lose the Mass. accent and attitude, they'll find Tennessee a friendly and welcoming place.

Tip of the iceberg here. What’s below the radar and not covered are the thousands of small businesses moving to friendlier states. It’s just good business sense to go for lower taxes and a state that welcomes you. The blue states are running off their tax base. No worry though, Biden will send them a couple of billion of red state tax money to rescue them.

Good move by Smith and Wesson. I hope all gun manufacturing leaves the Northeast. Poster 14 mentioned thousands of small businesses leaving high tax states and I suppose many support industries will follow S & W to Tennessee. That happened when firearms accessory manufacturer Magpul was driven out of Colorado. When asked about these job losses, odious former governor Hickenlooper talked about good paying green jobs coming to Colorado.

Any industry that has any part of guns or ammunition that is still located in a Demon-Rat run state is not showing good business sense. Even if you have been located in that state for 150 years, and feel like you have tradition and history there, you are now in massively hostile territory and need to relocate to a red state immediately!!!!!

CHICAGO, IL – After touching down in Chicago to deliver an address where President Joe Biden discussed the likes of vaccine mandates earlier in October, the president’s speech was in standard form – in that he uttered a handful of gaffes that ranged from misstating the Chicago mayor’s gender to incoherent rambling. A customer violently assaulted a security guard at a New York City Apple Store after the two had a dispute over masks. Police said the dispute occurred just after 6:30 PM inside the W. 14th Street store near Chelsea. After the security guard confronted the customer over the store’s COVID-19 mask requirement, the two argued, and that’s when the customer pulled out a sharp object, stabbing the guard multiple times, NBC4 reported. When police arrived, the suspect had fled the store. Authorities say early information about the suspect is “black, male, 5’6, in his 20’s wearing a black mask, a black shirt and blue jeans,” ABC7 reported.

CALIFORNIA – According to a report from NPR, officials in California are reportedly exploring a potential wide-scale offering to combat meth addiction: paying individuals to stop using drugs. While it’s a bit of a rudimentary explanation of what’s being entertained, that’s essentially what the state may pursue to counteract addiction running rampant within the state. [Tweet] Most would agree that drug addiction – especially in the realm of opioids and methamphetamines – is bad all around: bad for individuals, bad for families, and bad for communities since addiction can often have a domino effect that leads to crimes that cause tangible harm. And when addiction manifests into the deep negatives like overdoses,

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday handed the Biden administration a stunning defeat with regard to construction on former President Donald Trump’s border wall, which currently sits incomplete as illegal immigrants continue to flood across the open border. The country’s high court ordered lower courts to vacate previous rulings about the wall, citing “changed circumstances” in the case. Environmental activists, activist judges, Democrats in Congress and private law organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union have of course opposed the wall since before concrete was ever poured.
