Pope Francis has met with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic who has come under criticism from some bishops in the United States for her support for abortion rights.Their meeting took place in Vatican City on Saturday, several weeks before Joe Biden is expected to meet the Pope when the the president is in Rome for talks between leaders of the Group of 20 major economies. The Vatican announced Pelosi's audience with the Pope in its daily bulletin but gave no details. Biden, the second Catholic U.S. president, has said he is personally opposed to abortion but, as a politician, cannot impose his views.
Commie Pope meets Commie leader of the House. I doubt Pope Trotsky opposes abortion.

Both the headline and the first sentence read as if it was the Pope visiting Pelosi.

My money says she's there trying to get the pope to give her communion so she can tell US priests (who say she doesn't deserve it) to effectively go to hell. If she gets it from the pope, we'll know indulgences are for sale again.

Popes of olde would have made her crawl on hands and knees...from the airport, through the city, 7 times around the Vatican walls, then be scourged from the Gate to the Nave before "Indulging her" with even a glance.
Quite likely her Penance for "Pride" alone would be years in a Nunnery, False Witness would have required a vow of silence during that whole time, her Greed, Gluttony, and Envy would require divestiture of all assets to and through the church to the Poorest of the poor. Her vast vineyards given over as a land grant to the Homeless.

Made a lot of mistakes in my life. Walking away from the Catholic Church and the Democratic Party were not mistakes. They were two of the best decisions I ever made.

What is she doing bopping around the Vatican while Congress is in disarray? I doubt if anyone of our old allies want to have anything to do with the harridan.

The anti-Christ Pope meets one of his Father Satan's chief lieutenants on this earth. The smell of fire and brimstone and a stink of mummified flesh was heavy in the air when these two evil gargoyles met.

Not my pope. Francis is a communist and will burn in hell for welcoming Nasty Nancy. He should have exorcised her for her evil abortion bill she passed before going to see the evil pope.

This is heinous.
Ask me again why I haven’t been to mass in almost 2 years. And the answer is not COVID.

To those that commented they left the church , I am sorry to hear that. But stopping using everyone else as your excuse. You eft because you wanted to. I attend mass at a parish where the people and priests are very devoted to Christ. You could find the same if you want to
As far as nasty Nancy being at the Vatican makes me ask why she was allowed in She is a member of Congress and does not have to get the fake vaccine.
The ope has Never supported abortion. He has never, changed any law of the Church. I myself think he’s bonkers. But he has never changed any teaching of the church.

There have been bad Popes before this one. The Church survived.
This man was elected by the College of Cardinals in an election that must have been similar to the Biden election.
I don't see how either one got elected without cheating.
I would be interested to know if Pelosi receives Communion from the Pope.

My pope is Benedict XVI, who still lives. Frank is not the first or the worst man elevated to the Chair of Peter. I love the Catholic Church, and despite all her problems she has safeguarded the Eucharist, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition for 2,000 years. The fullness of the Faith is offered to all through the seven Holy Sacraments, the Sacrifice of the Mass and reception of the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ. The same Christ that was betrayed by Judas' kiss and denied three times by the man He selected to lead His infant Church. Knowing that The Enemy would send spies and subversives to despoil His Bride, Our Lord promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against her. Gates are a defensive position, which means Christians are meant to be on the offensive.
It saddens me when people are proud of leaving the Catholic Faith because they find the pull of good/evil within her walls offensive to their expectations that all clergy must be pure and holy, without spot or blemish, and untouched by a fallen world. It didn't happen among the Apostles, so why should today be any different? These same fallen-away Catholics are also Americans that suffer under a criminal government. How many are leaving America behind because her current leadership is corrupt? Why is it so easy to throw away the spiritual home that Our Lord Himself established, and yet so hard to walk away from your temporal home?

If he cannot impose his views, then why is he pushing radical tyrannical policies that destroy the country, like mandates and open borders?

They have something in common; they've both lost their supernatural faith as have many others in the Vatican.

Nancy was just in England, came home then went back to see the Pope? I bet each time she took a ton of family members, made it a vacation and we paid for all of it! In my next life I want to come back as a politician. BTW someone remind me, what’s the purpose of a Pope?

#16 - I agree with you and several other posters here. Attended a mass last evening at a small Portuguese church where the mass was so beautiful and reverent and where the pastor gave a great sermon about the Fatima message and what we need to do to hold onto our faith and the church was full. They had Benediction following the mass and a procession thru the close-by streets where they carried a statute of Our Lady of Fatima and the parishioners said the rosary and held small votive candles. Incense and flowers and candles still important to us humans and a small way of showing our love of what is happening at mass. Took me awhile to find this church. I admit I church- shopped.
Once voiced concern to a Benedictine priest about a friend who was losing his faith, and the priest told me the guy should not reflect on the bottom up in the church, but rather on Christ down. The priests and the members of the hierarchy who no longer have faith in the supernatural should leave the priesthood, and let those who do have the faith, flood the seminaries. Then we can have more priests who will make us love going to mass again. They're our there. Their vocations should be fostered, instead of vocation directors turning them away because, like some of our politicians, they are more concerned with their own egos than serving the people. People are tired of it and are walking away.

The Reuters article says that SOME bishops disagree with her. But Reuters forgot to mention that every faithful Christian on the planet disagrees with her. It's NOT about politics.
