New York - Americans should brace for sticker shock on home heating costs as temperatures drop this fall and winter. Prices for natural gas, the most common way to heat homes and a leading fuel source for generating electricity, have surged more than 180% over the past 12 months to $5.90 per million British thermal units. Natural gas hasn't been this expensive since February 2014. The risk is that an early winter or extremely cold fall temperatures will force households to crank up the heat. That would further shrink the nation's below-average stockpiles of natural gas and could lift prices even

The Biden regime looks at a report like this, scratches their wicked heads, gets filled with narcissistic glee and revenge, and contemplates how they will make things even MORE DIFFICULT for Americans.

We have all that wind energy. They will be turning the electricity off in Texas when it gets below 50 to preserve energy for the hospitals and government offices. Biden has shut down the energy industry, and surprise surprise, we have no energy for the winter. Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer will be all cozy in their pink slippers.

HOW CAN THIS BE CORRECT? Prior to the advent of fracking, NG stocks were seaosnal ans would rise & fall according to demand. But with fracking, we had stocks so full we were exporting NG. Dear God what have the Democrats done?

Intentionally caused by the junta. They PLANNED to do this, just like the intended to make gasoline shortages to run up prices.

For only the first time in 13 years, I'm glad I'm on propane and have a full tank.

They got rid of many of the coal burning plants, which up until about 10 years ago generated well over 50% of the country's energy needs, because, "gas is cheaper than coal. It's just the market."
Now they've driven up the cost of natural gas and will try to do away with that fuel source as well.
This is not an accident.
Voodoo energy can never meet the needs of the baseload.

OP, That actually happened in my area. Chattanooga suffered a vicious ice storm some years ago.The mountain communities were without power for over a week and cut off from the rest of the city. The residents had to resort to burning the inside doors to try to stay warm.

I have this image of Biden, ala Mr Burns, rubbing his scrawny hands together and muttering "EXCELLENT".

Not to worry. Sustainable Pixie dust and CO2 free Unicorn flatulence will power us through any particularly cold winter. One wonders how we are suppose to be frying like crispy critters are about to experience a particularly cold winter?

Shouldn't my heating bill be going DOWN as the planet warms up to the point of self destruction? Which is down to 8 years away?

No problemo...the Demorats have a secret plan to get Putin to sell gas to America [with 10% for the big guy] and the pipeline will HAVE TO be routed through China, [with 10% for the big guy] and finally, the gas will HAVE TO be carried only in the CCP's slave shipper COSCO [with 10% for the big guy] and, finally, only handled by union labor at the US ports. Being a "patriotic" American, there may only 9.5% for the big guy on that final deal...
Let's feel sorry for poor Hunter, who would have to turn out his "art" with a spraygun to keep up with the demand.

Geez. The ‘little guy’ is the one that gets hurt. The millionaires don’t have to worry about a couple of hundred bucks extra on their heating bill. It’s the family just getting by that will be devastated if their heating bill doubles. I would say this Democrat disaster will kill them at the polls but the fix is in on ballot fraud. The Dems have no conscience when it comes to power. They want power and will do anything to get it it. That includes murder, media propaganda and even murder.
