WASHINGTON - U.S. congressional Democrats are considering including the first federal fee to tackle plastic pollution in the multitrillion-dollar reconciliation bill, a proposal that is drawing opposition from the plastics and petrochemical industry. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Representative Tom Suozzi are in talks with other Democrats to include their REDUCE Act as a source of revenue in the reconciliation bill. It would impose a 20-cent-per-pound fee on virgin - or new - plastic for single-use products such as plastic bags and beverage containers. The proposal is among a slew of money raisers being considered by the White House and Democrats to pay for

So what do they propose we go back to? Paper - that trees. Wood, that's trees. Pottery, breaks easily. Our way of life is filled with plastic. And so called single use garbage bags are used in dozens of ways by most of us. This is just the beginning of taxing us to death.

Are the Republican officials going to let us know the huge amounts of pork spending in the bill? Quit hiding underneath your desks. Sheesh, give me a pencil and pad paper. Give me a few days with some assistance and I'll let the world know the charades the Dems are trying to pull to make our paychecks become smaller. They hate the USA. They hate us all. They WANT to wreck the economy, and make everyone's life more difficult and inconvenient. They want your light bulbs to not work well, and cost 10 times as much. They want your toilets to not flush well, and cost more. They want your faucets and shower heads to dribble water because California is a desert....even if where you live is not. They want anything convenient to be inconvenient. They hate the middle class having a nice life. They want everything that is inexpensive to be expensive.

The first lie is that plastic bags are "single-use." Plastic bags such as we get from the grocery store have a hundred uses. We save all of ours and find multiple uses for them around the house. Just another scam to raise taxes on us in the name of "saving the environment."

If you think your health care is expensive now, just wait, if this passes. Anyone who has spent time in a hospital lately, either as a patient of a visitor has seen that almost everything is plastic, one-time use and disposable. Same goes for your doctor’s office. And all of this panic because a 9 year old kid came up with a fraudulent science project about plastic straws.

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh reportedly tested positive for COVID, raising the very important question: WHO CARES?! It apparently has to be said that testing positive for COVID is not in itself newsworthy. In particular if the person has received a vaccine, which Kavanaugh purportedly has. As of Friday, he hasn’t been hospitalized. He’s not even showing any symptoms, according to a spokeswoman for the court. So, again, who cares? Wishing him the best, but positive cases shouldn’t be of any particular interest to anyone. Honestly, unless Dr. Fauci dies of COVID, the entire pandemic is no longer a story.

Progressive Democrats have welcomed the delay in Congress' vote on the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, which they say should be linked to the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better package. The House of Representatives was due to vote on the bipartisan bill on Thursday, but the vote was postponed after late-night negotiations among the Democrats and divisions between progressives and moderates in the party. The $1.2 trillion bill passed the Senate in August with bipartisan support, but progressive Democrats had said they would not vote for it unless the $3.5 trillion package advanced alongside it. A bill introduced in May would repeal the national debt ceiling, and Yellen said “yes, I would” when asked during a House hearing if she backs the effort. She noted Congress makes the decisions on taxes and spending, and should provide the ability to pay those obligations. “If to finance those spending and tax decisions, it’s necessary to issue additional debt, I believe it’s very disruptive to put the

Some people possess a version of a gene which can potentially restrain the virus which causes Covid-19, a study has indicated. The findings offer an explanation for why some people have better natural defences against serious Sars-CoV-2 infection, say scientists. Scientists suggest antiviral responses are better in people who have a more protective “prenylated” version of the OAS1 gene, while others have a version which fails to detect the virus. But if new variants learn to evade the protection offered by the prenylated gene they could become “substantially more pathogenic and transmissible in unvaccinated populations”, say experts.
