A gang of shoplifters was filmed brazenly ransacking a Chicago beauty store as it was revealed three organized gangs of thieves are targeting the city's stores. The clip was shot at an UIta Beauty store in the Windy City's Norridge suburb over the weekend, and showed a gang of three hooded thieves emptying its shelves of expensive Christian Dior and Armani makeup into black trash bags. It was shared on social media Monday, with the shocked cameraman, who hasn't been named, saying: 'Look at this, this is insane,' as he films the theft unfolding before his eyes. An Ulta Beauty

Maybe it's time the rest of us refuse to pay for merchandise too. Simply grab & go at Ulta, CVS, Walgreens, TJ Maxx and every other national retailer that prevents employees from stopping shoplifters.

Ulta's corporate offices are likely to NOT prosecute because, you know...BLM. In the meantime, Ulta employees are exposed to dangerous roaming bands of thieves and Ulta's customers are forced to pay higher prices for the merchandise to recoup the loss.

When the Vietnamese came to New Orleans in the 70’s one of their gigs was “corner stores” when it got rough they enclosed themselves in bullet proof glass. Somebody would walk out with a case of beer and all they would do is holler and call NOPD. Eventually they all gave up and sold out to Arabs. The Arabs took down the glass and did business. They shot about 3 or 4 people and guess what? All the boys in the hood are very respectful.

My retired police officer neighbor worked large store security for a number of years afterwards, mostly tracking bunko gangs which rove the country ripping off large stores with back checks. In any case, he tells me that most large stores, even here in eastern Kansas, have decided that they won't do anything about people walking out with merchandise. But, he tells me some stores are hard core on it and will do whatever it takes to stop an individual shoplifter, and prosecute them as far as they can. Not a lot of cooperation by the county prosecutors, though. They will prosecute, but would 10 times rather do some sort of a nothingburger plea bargain. The judicial system is pretty well disconnected and sitting on their butts these days.

Despite having the highest vaccination rates in the country, there are constant reminders for most New England states of just how vicious the delta variant of COVID-19 is. Hospitals across the region are seeing full intensive care units and staff shortages are starting to affect care. Public officials are pleading with the unvaccinated to get the shots. Health care workers are coping with pent-up demand for other kinds of care that had been delayed by the pandemic. “I think it’s clearly frustrating for all of us,” said Michael Pieciak, the commissioner of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation who monitor

Homeowners who refuse to take part in a hydrogen energy trial will be forcibly cut off by gas network operators, under Government plans to test green heating alternatives. Residents in one village will begin the pilot scheme by 2025 to help the Government assess whether hydrogen gas can be used as a low-carbon alternative for heating homes across the country. Ministers insisted the powers to enter people's homes and switch off their gas would only be used as a "last resort" if the homeowners had refused to engage with any other options. She called the dual-track approach "an ineffective stunt" and said she has "never, and would never, agree to any bargain that would hold one piece of legislation hostage to another." While she didn't mention them by name, Sinema also

Wishing him the best, but positive cases shouldn’t be of any particular interest to anyone. Honestly, unless Dr. Fauci dies of COVID, the entire pandemic is no longer a story.

Progressive Democrats have welcomed the delay in Congress' vote on the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, which they say should be linked to the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better package. The House of Representatives was due to vote on the bipartisan bill on Thursday, but the vote was postponed after late-night negotiations among the Democrats and divisions between progressives and moderates in the party. The $1.2 trillion bill passed the Senate in August with bipartisan support, but progressive Democrats had said they would not vote for it unless the $3.5 trillion package advanced alongside it. Some people possess a version of a gene which can potentially restrain the virus which causes Covid-19, a study has indicated. The findings offer an explanation for why some people have better natural defences against serious Sars-CoV-2 infection, say scientists. Scientists suggest antiviral responses are better in people who have a more protective “prenylated” version of the OAS1 gene, while others have a version which fails to detect the virus. But if new variants learn to evade the protection offered by the prenylated gene they could become “substantially more pathogenic and transmissible in unvaccinated populations”, say experts. Torres said, “[T]here’s misconception about the price tag of the Build Back Better Act. The Build Back Better Act, the original draft, it is not 3.5 trillion over the course of a year.
