Florida sues Biden administration over
catch-and-release policy, alleging violation

The state of Florida is suing the Biden administration over its "illegal" catch-and-release policies at the Southern Border, saying they cause harm to the state's "quasi-sovereign interests," while claiming officials are either in violation of federal immigration law, or simply abusing their authority. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody filed the suit against the administration Tuesday, as part of a joint effort with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to "uphold the rule of law despite the Biden administration's decision to violate the law." The suit was filed in the Pensacola Division of the Northern District of Florida. Moody is not seeking a preliminary injunction.

DeSantis is running for President. Costs him nothing and makes for a few red meat headlines. I'm sure TX AG Ken Paxton would pile on, given an opportunity. Maybe bring Abbott with him. No prelim injunction requested. Can't wait for the trial...won't that be something?

Yes, it does violate federal law. But then, half of everything that this junta does on a daily basis violates federal law. And until this lawsuit, I have seen no effort to force them to follow the laws.

#4, if that's actually the case, then it's open season on leftards and no bag limit. Somehow I don't think they want to go quite so far as to ignore constitutional laws.

Texas needs to join this suit. The President or Democrat Congress do not have legal authority to disobey immigration laws. It is time to bring them to account.

What do you mean by "alleging violation of federal law"? It is a violation of federal law. There's no alleging about it.

Thanks to Vice President Kamala Harris’s latest hiring decision, yet another member of the Psaki family now works within the Biden administration. The Washington Post reported Friday that of the two individuals recently hired by Harris as senior advisers, one of them, Adam Frankel, has familial ties to White House press secretary Jen Psaki. “Frankel is married to Stephanie Psaki, a senior adviser at the Department of Health and Human Services and the sister of White House press secretary Jen Psaki,” according to the Post. You read that correctly. Frankel’s own wife works within the administration. And she herself is the sister of the press secretary.

We’ve been told a lot of lies and nonsense about the Afghanistan debacle by Joe Biden and his administration. Now some of those lies are coming back to bite us. One of the lies was about how all the evacuees were thoroughly vetted before they came to the United States. “Before anyone who is evacuated from Afghanistan comes to this country, they undergo a rigorous vet,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price told reporters. We already found out how wrong that was with the first 30,000 evacuees brought to this country. About 10,000 needed “additional screening.” If they were “thoroughly vetted,” why would they need additional screening on such a massive

The Vatican City State announced Monday that effective October 1 no one can enter its territory without presenting a coronavirus Green Pass, by order of Pope Francis. The Green Pass can be obtained by showing proof of vaccination against the coronavirus, demonstrating recovery from the coronavirus, or by showing a negative rapid antigen or PCR test, the Vatican ordinance states. The decree also declares that the Green Pass mandate extends to the Vatican’s extraterritorial properties stipulated by the 1929 Lateran Treaty, which include Vatican-owned churches throughout Italy. The pope himself instructed the Governorate of Vatican City State to issue the mandate in order “to prevent, control, and combat

An ex-GOP legislator is spending $15,000 to inform motorists traveling on Pennsylvania roads that President Joe Biden is “making the Taliban great again.” Scott Wagner, a former state senator and unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate in the Keystone State, is renting about 15 billboards with that message over the next two months that also depicts a smiling Biden in Taliban garb holding a rocket launcher. The first one apparently popped up along Interstate 83 in Pennsylvania’s York County. Wagner has described the botched U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, which led to the Taliban rapidly taking over after the country’s government and security forces practically

Voters in Minneapolis, the city where George Floyd died in police custody, sparking months of destructive protests, will now be able to vote in the upcoming municipal elections on abolishing the police department, the Minnesota Supreme Court said in a reversal of a lower court ruling. The decision concluded: The decision of the district court filed on September 14, 2021, granting the petition of respondents’ Don Samuels et al., to correct the ballot, requiring local election officials to provide notice instructing voters not to vote on the ballot question, and enjoining local election officials from tallying, counting or in any way considering votes cast on the ballot question, is reversed.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s first move after he beat the recall effort in California was to sign legislation allowing lots to be subdivided which would effectively eliminate suburbs. The legislation was obviously frowned upon by suburban voters. As The New York Times reported, lawmakers were worried about “angering suburban voters, whose preferences for single-family home living have been regarded as politically sacrosanct.” SB 9 “was furiously opposed by homeowners and local government groups who said it ‘crushes single-family zoning’ and would be ‘the beginning of the end of homeownership in California,'” the Times said. In a statement, Newsom’s office announced that President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden hoped his authoritarian vaccine mandate would take the heat off his administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. While his political calculation was not a complete success, it certainly reminded Americans about some fundamental ideological divides. A sentiment Biden expressed during his speech announcing the mandates crystalized these differences. This is not about freedom or personal choice. It’s about protecting yourself and those around you. The people you work with. The people you care about. The people you love. My job as president is to protect all Americans.
