‘Unruly teenagers’ cause rule
change at Elitch Gardens

Original Article

Elitch Gardens is now requiring teenagers under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult — a rule change brought on by troublemaking teens, the park says. “Elitch Gardens strives to maintain a fun, family-friendly environment and this policy modification better enables us to continue to do so,” the Denver amusement park said in a statement Saturday. “The park has experienced some unsupervised and unruly teenagers attending this summer that can alter this environment.” Previously, children 12 years old and younger had to be chaperoned by an adult. The policy change bumps that age up by three years

The same thing to a little amusement park near where I live. Lake Winnapeasauka is an icon for this area…an old style park that’s been in business for decades. For years they had no cost to get in the park. Then teenage blacks started coming in droves, raising hell and driving off families. They fixed it very similar to what Elitch did. Requiring chaperones, minimum age to enter alone, etc. It seems to have worked.

The Volunteer Fire Department in the little town I live close to had a carnival each year to raise funds they had it since the 1920's I so enjoyed going each year. Then the county built a low cost housing project a couple of blocks from the Carnival grounds. Yep in 2 years blacks had the carnival closed down because they could not behave. Marshall Hall in Southern Md., Glen Echo, in Washington Dc. Gwynn Oak in Baltimore. Gone. Same problem.

It took the “unruly culture” since about 1965 to fall to where it is now for everyone to see, and you can bet that it will take twice or three times that long and get a lot worse before that “culture” becomes rationally civilized.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) on Saturday came out strong against her party's decision — one backed by President Biden — to delay a vote on the Senate's bipartisan infrastructure bill until the larger, more sweeping reconciliation package is ready to go. The centrist Sinema is not a fan of tying the two pieces of legislation together, however, as she reveleaded in Saturday's statement. She called the dual-track approach "an ineffective stunt" and said she has "never, and would never, agree to any bargain that would hold one piece of legislation hostage to another." While she didn't mention them by name, Sinema also

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh reportedly tested positive for COVID, raising the very important question: WHO CARES?! It apparently has to be said that testing positive for COVID is not in itself newsworthy. In particular if the person has received a vaccine, which Kavanaugh purportedly has. As of Friday, he hasn’t been hospitalized. He’s not even showing any symptoms, according to a spokeswoman for the court. So, again, who cares? Wishing him the best, but positive cases shouldn’t be of any particular interest to anyone. Honestly, unless Dr. Fauci dies of COVID, the entire pandemic is no longer a story.

Progressive Democrats have welcomed the delay in Congress' vote on the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, which they say should be linked to the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better package. The House of Representatives was due to vote on the bipartisan bill on Thursday, but the vote was postponed after late-night negotiations among the Democrats and divisions between progressives and moderates in the party. The $1.2 trillion bill passed the Senate in August with bipartisan support, but progressive Democrats had said they would not vote for it unless the $3.5 trillion package advanced alongside it. With a potential default looming for the U.S. in October, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Thursday she would just as soon see the power over debt limits taken away from Congress. A bill introduced in May would repeal the national debt ceiling, and Yellen said “yes, I would” when asked during a House hearing if she backs the effort. She noted Congress makes the decisions on taxes and spending, and should provide the ability to pay those obligations. “If to finance those spending and tax decisions, it’s necessary to issue additional debt, I believe it’s very disruptive to put the

Some people possess a version of a gene which can potentially restrain the virus which causes Covid-19, a study has indicated. The findings offer an explanation for why some people have better natural defences against serious Sars-CoV-2 infection, say scientists. Scientists suggest antiviral responses are better in people who have a more protective “prenylated” version of the OAS1 gene, while others have a version which fails to detect the virus. But if new variants learn to evade the protection offered by the prenylated gene they could become “substantially more pathogenic and transmissible in unvaccinated populations”, say experts.
