In a bizarre tweet on Friday, socialist Senator Bernie Sanders said that 52 senators “cannot be allowed to defeat” 48 senators. The comment was extremely bizarre to say the least considering for all of history, the majority is typically who wins any sort of voting conflict.Sanders couldn’t comprehend the fact that Democrat senators Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) could possibly vote against the Democrats’ massive $3.5 trillion bill.Sanders tweeted: “2 senators cannot be allowed to defeat what 48 senators and 210 House members want. We must stand with the working families of our country. We must combat climate change.

He's a bit too old to be throwing himself down on the grocery store floor kicking and screaming because he's not getting what he wants. Tantrums are so unbecoming in an old curmudgeon. He's old enough to know better.

I love it when muffin head liberals pull phony statistics out of their butts to make a point. ‘This is what 81% of We the People want’? I’m sure it is what 81% of her friends want and the other 19% should find new friends. If you’re American dream is to pay most of your salary into taxes so AOC and Bernie Sanders can run your life please don’t beg for it in public. You’re making the rest of us sick.

Good old Bernie. Please stay dead. But recognize that his math perfectly describes the left's cancel culture. If you disagree you are dead and your opinion/vote doesn't count. So in Bernie's head it IS kind of like two versus 48.

This was the same problem the Roman Empire faced just before its collapse into the "Emperor" period of tyranny. The general, Cornelius Sulla, wanted to payoff the soldiers that had helped him acquire power by giving then lands that had been captured from conquered nations. The unwritten but long standing law of Rome required the law to be debated and agreed to by the Senate elders before it could be voted on by the Plebes in the people's house. When the Senate backed a rival of Sulla and refused to vote out the law Sulla just got his soldiers together and killed his rival in the streets. After that most of the Senate fled Rome and Sulla could enact any laws he wanted without their agreement.
Eliminating the ability of the Senate elders to modulate the voice of the people by eliminating the filibuster rule would accelerate this country to one party tyranny very quickly.

ak.chully he is upset that for his entire political life 99 senators often overuled HIS ONE vote, and the legislation that he alone supported..
There are 50 Repubs in the senate...only 48 Dems. THEY should be in control of the Senate.
Instead, TWO senators that call themselves "Independent" caucus with the Dems and Skewwed the Pooch. He is One.

What he's really saying is that it's not fair that the vote in the senate can't be "stuffed" like an election box, right Bernie?

He REALLY means that 2 Senators cannot be allowed to defeat 48 Senators
He REALLY thinks that Republican ideas or votes
should not be considered or counted

" ... Bernie Sanders Says 52 Senators Should Not Be Allowed to Overrule 48 Senators", until the 52 are aligned with comrade bernie and then it will just the way it should be done - the people of Vermont should be ashamed of themselves for having two lunkhead's like comrade bernie and leahy, who, by the way are as bad or worse than my senators, warren and markey, two of the biggest oxygen thieves in the senate

I guess Republican senators just don't count, in his estimation. It is not 2 senators who want to defeat the measure. It is 50. I thought these guys believed in "democracy."

Bernie, we don’t need a fellow tossed out of a commune because he wouldn’t do his share of the work (that’s you) telling us what we should do. Your statement reveals the totalitarian in you. We will not comply.

By that logic, every bill should pass the Senate. The Senate votes one way one day. The Senate votes the opposite way the next. Both would pass. The Senate would be meaningless, but it kind of is already.
Guess logic isn't Bernie's strong suit.

No surprise here, Commies don't teach math as it's opposed to Communism!
