Soon-to-be divorced hedge fund billionaire John Paulson has whisked away his new Instagram guru girlfriend to Italy for a friend's wedding. Paulson, 65, and Alina de Almeida, 33, were spotted attending the event on the shores of Lake Como days after the hedge funder announced his high-profile divorce from his wife Jenny, 50. The couple flew in for the nuptials of Blackstone executive Mark Moffat and Sarah Mintz in lakeside Villa d'Este on September 25 and were 'inseparable' and 'canoodled all day and night', Page Six reported.

Comments:

The expression, "there's no fool like an old fool" comes to mind. With no prenup, the divorce from Wifey #1 will be interesting to watch.

You know - the whole term hedge fund annoys me. It's suppose to mean that investments are spread in such a way so as to avoid big loss when the market tumbles. And as an unavoidable trade off it also avoids big gains. But the advantage is your investment is safe from the strong ups and downs of the market. Your bets have been hedged. Instead, it is a highly speculative investment that can realize very high gains and very high losses. Exactly the opposite of what "hedge" is supposed to be. Of course the high losses can be avoided if you have connections with someone like - oh I dunno - perhaps a Secretary of State who can leak inside information to you so you can avoid a huge loss you were about to experience. Of course that's all quite illegal but not if it's media darling Democrats doing it.

Using a fortune to buy what a charming, handsome, young, lovable guy can get for free does not make you a charming, handsome, young, lovable guy. It makes you pathetic. He should go apologize to his wife and children. If he is going to be this pathetic, he should at least have enough consideration for his family to not do it in public.

His children will eventually inherit more $ than any of us realistically dream of having, yet they'll be short-changed considerably by the young wifey who stays with him for the next seven to twelve years until he dies. The Beatles sang, "Money can't buy me love," but both John Lennon and Paul McCartney learned that lesson the hard way. Lennon married the insufferable Yoko Ono who broke up the Beatles; McCartney married the one-legged Heather Mills, endured her for about four years, then bought his freedom and sanity by divorcing her for over $50 million. She initially sought $250 million.

Frustration over the mostly feckless national Republican Party is nothing new. Those of us on the political right have few electoral options given our two-party system. In some elections, the choice is stark and easy, as when Reagan or Trump were at the top of the ticket. Other years saw names like McCain or Romney on the ticket and many of us held our noses voting Republican only because it was the better of two lousy choices. The leftist agenda moves forward regardless of who is elected, at the presidential or congressional level, the only difference being the speed of decline.

Torres said, “[T]here’s misconception about the price tag of the Build Back Better Act. The Build Back Better Act, the original draft, it is not 3.5 trillion over the course of a year. It’s over the course of ten years. So, it’s $350 billion. Which, for a $20 trillion economy like ours, is a modest investment. So, I think it’s shortsighted to focus on the price tag.”
