An event to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the Tulsa race massacre was suddenly canceled after the three surviving victims demanded $1 million to appear and $50 million donated to a reparations fund.
Singer John Legend was to host the event with the keynote address given by Georgia race activist Stacey Abrams. Other events associated with the commemoration will proceed as scheduled and Joe Biden will be in Tulsa on Tuesday.
Attorneys representing the survivors had originally agreed to a $100,000 appearance fee for each survivor and $2 million in reparations.

100th anniversary and three surviving victims...... I propose a structured pay out. Each of the three survivors could receive 5% of the million dollars each year for 20 years. Of course in the unfortunate event one of the survivors should die before the 20 years is up, the obligation is cancelled.

Just following in the footsteps of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the rest of those hate-mongering race grifters and hustlers.

What GOOD comes from bringing up this event from100 years ago....????...just more racial resentment from blacks
... What would happen IF the media focused on what is happening NOW..??....ie - How our inner cities are now largely uninhabitable by white people...and how public school systems in most major cities have been destroyed.....due to WHOM ???

Who ever heard of the Tulsa Race Massacre before this program started? Maybe some locals, and a few race hustlers, but really?

I just started following the Take Charge MN group on the web. The founder was a BLM leader for one year and was appalled that there was no room for improvement for black community under the umbrella of victim hood and reparations. Take a look at his site. It reminds me of Bill Cosby’s message before he was found guilty of date rape.

Imagine the outrage if the war veterans demanded $1 million dollars to attend Memorial Day events or the upcoming anniversary of D-Day on June 6.

Date rape, #10? SMH. Just because you liked his message doesn't mean he isn't a predator. He spent years preying on women that he drugged and assaulted and it was not a secret, apparently.

You mean sowing hate and discontent isn't worth $1 mil? What exactly is John Legend expecting from these race-baiting extravaganzas anyway? Turning Ghetto Blacks away from killing each other (along with any innocent bystander in the line of fire} to gunning down Whites instead?

From the article; ''Disagreements among black leaders in Tulsa over the handling of commemoration events and millions of dollars in donations have led to two disparate groups planning separate slates of events marking the massacre’s 100-year anniversary.
In addition to the Centennial Commission, the Black Wall Street Legacy Festival has scheduled a series of events over the next several days, and they will continue as planned.
Solomon-Simmons is associated with the Legacy Festival, along with City Councilwoman Vanessa Hall-Harper and Tiffany Crutcher, the twin sister of Terence Crutcher, an unarmed black man who was shot and killed by a Tulsa police officer in 2016.''
There have been so many of these ''unarmed black man was shot'' incidents that I had to go look this one up. Crutcher was high on PCP and TCP would not follow commands kept reaching into his pockets and vehicle. So, we have family members of PCP addict trying to cash-in on his death by exploiting an actual racial crime from 100 years ago. The officer involved was found not-guilty and the US Justice Department under Obama-Holder found that there was no case against the officer. Yet, from the press we still hear from the dead PCP addict's sticky-fingered relatives claiming 'victimhood and wanting their share of the loot.

They survived... isn't that reward enough? Just be glad this isn't Africa, where 'racial' and 'tribal' wars are a way of life. America ISN'T Africa, so drop to your knees and give thanks unto the Lord. You were brought here as slaves because there was no other way for your ancestors to get here.

I had to go read about this incident but here's a short version. I had never heard of this until recently maybe it was on History Channel Black History (goes on forever) Month. The event was not heard of until it was resurrected in the early 1990s. Oklahoma was not proud of the incident so scrubbed it from history and teachings. Blacks brought it back for what it is known for today after forgotten. Why? Typical of the race and drama it presents. The truth be known it was not a massacre people of both color, races, died it was more a deadly encounter but not a war, massacre or winner take all. Following WWI 1920s whites were mostly unemployed in many areas of the US including Oklahoma. Tulsa had a Greenwood district of predominately blacks who were successful working employed people. An incident in a white hotel elevator triggered the events when a shoe shine boy used it to ascent to the top floor to use the 'colored' restroom entering it with a white 17 year girl on it. He didn't assault her but the girl screamed in sudden fear. This brought about the arrest of the boy by whites and of course talk of lynching. The sheriff protected the prisoner but about fifty blacks took up arms to go defend the boy in the court house, whites doing the same. Shooting and running gun battles ensured with injuries and deaths on both sides. Military was called to quell the fight and restore order. This ended on Memorial Day as we know it. The boy was not lynched but acquitted of the charge of assaulting the girl who did not press charges but this all happened after the whites burned most of the district of Greenwood. Greenwood was so successful that it was known as the Black Wall Street. Blacks relocated away from Tulsa never to return or rebuild. What was known and passed down were 36 deaths resulted 4 were whites. Numbers in the hundreds of blacks killed was reported but were false. Investigations and a commission started to find the real number of deaths. A mass grave was found with less than 36 bodies it was speculated they were black . This is typical of the racial leaders playing this to blacks. Though devastating and true it is still reported with falseness added. The only thing to remind Tulsa residents is a black marble plaque commemorating Black Wall Street which is the real honor this deserves. Not denying or trying to diminish what happened but it is history.

This is a fortunate turn. There was nothing good that was going to happen from picking at this very old wound.
No possible upside. And even going this far has emboldened the racist haters in the black side to threaten race war.
I imagine that Evil Ben Crump had his horrible hand in this somewhere.

#12, how about the other Bill who was known to be a rapist and nothing happened to him, the one who became a multi-millionaire? Bill Clinton. (Oh but he’s white and he never told the black community to shape up and accept responsibility for themselves.)

Number one, is Stacey Abrams is a racist POS. Two, how are we, the American people allowing a bunch of bigots to control our lives by pretending we are still living in the 1800's. Before Obama the word racist was rarely heard and used, today every American is a racist and a white supremacist. While the white guy is supposed to be the problem blacks are killing each other in record numbers and violent crime in black communities is out of control. This act is starting to get real old. Wake up...

Its not about justice. Its about money.
As for the 1921 Tulsa Massacre, everything has been done that needs to be done. There are laws. It won't happen again. Nor will it be forgotten.
No more money. Its of no use, and its not needed.

I think the whole BLM thing blew up when Travon Martin's parents were paid MILLIONS because he was killed. Didn't matter that he was a Thief, a Thug and would have killed the other guy if he had half a chance as he was bigger and stronger. I think once that MONEY was paid and the Parents were all over the Talk Shows and even visited the White House, EVERYONE wanted in on the FREE MONEY. So from then on every time a THUG was killed by Police, the CITY had to come up with millions for the Parents (who mostly never raised said kid) or the BLM would burn down the town. This has spread to every State. The way to fix it is to STOP PAYING when someone is murdered. Do the Whites demand millions when a Black kills a White? NO! So, enough is enough. Start throwing out the stinking Democrat Mayors and put in Republicans who refuse to pay for Thug Killing! BLM is trying to take over this country! I've had enough of it!
