The young midshipman needed a date one evening while he was home from the US Naval Academy, so his younger sister paired him with a family friend who already had a crush.Nearly eight decades later, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter are still together in the same tiny town where they were born, grew up and had that first outing. In between, they've traveled the world as Naval officer and military spouse, American president and first lady, and finally as human rights and public health ambassadors.'It's a full partnership,' the 39th president told The Associated Press during a joint interview ahead of the couple's 75th wedding anniversary on July 7.

He should have stuck to woodworking. The world would be a better place. As bad as Carter was, Richard Nixon did more long lasting damage than any President in the 20th Century, imo. You can thank Dick and Hank Kissinger for the Chi-Com beast to whom we pay tribute today. China didn't help bring about the demise of the Soviet "Evil Empire," it was President Ronald Reagan and his Star Wars initiative.

Being married for 75 years is a feat that few can match. The Carters worked together to leave a positive legacy in the world. Jimmy Carter is a much greater ex-president than he was president. He has certainly worked hard to be a positive influence in the world.

Jimmy Carter was the 3rd worst president in the history of this republic. Honestly, it was so terrible that I didn't think we could possibly ever have a worse president, but then along came Ovomit and biden. But he was still terrible!!! For years, he was a really good ex-president, especially with his work with Habitat for Humanity. But then he decided to become a partisan political hack the last few years, and destroyed his post-presidency legacy in the process in my humble opinion!!! I'll leave it at that, since I have nothing good to say about him today.

My parents were much better people than the carters. Married 51 years on Earth and death has not separated them 23 years since. My Father flew B-24s in 1943-45 and worked like a dog in commercial aviation after that. Being a politician should not garner higher praise than the "Common" people. Our Country is filled with superior people than the chaff that "lead" us. Sorry, I love better people.

Amen, #15. Carter was the disaster responsible for: Chinese ownership of the Panama Canal, the Muriel Boat Lift, destabilization and psychotic leadership in Iran, 21% interest rates, lecturing Americans on our malaise and “inordinate fear of communism”, Cyrus Vance, Middle Eastern hostage taking, etc. Fuel prices went up so high that those of us who lived in cold climates were told to turn our thermostats to 62*F and 55 at night and school bussing was imposed. Since then, Carter has blown his mouth off overseas and undercut the U.S. and especially Republican presidents. BTW, given evidence of voter fraud in current elections in the U.S. where is he? Over five years ago Carter was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I, for one, am waiting….

He is a good man. Tried to come in and set things right. Then the ESTABLISMENT DEMS took over and gave him almost ZERO support and took their marching orders from Tip O'Nell Double digit inflation after Jerry Ford's failed WIN program to Whip Inflation Now campaign and things got worse. We survive him and got the best President of my lifetime--Ronaldus Magnus. That was when the Dems were Dems and not outright Marxist-Socialists that we got under Nobama and Mumbles carrying on the work to destroy the American Way of Life through overburdening the economic system. Mr. Trump's Administration was plagued by entrenched government employees where were wickedly working to undermine him through corrupt means. So were the RINOs who vote like demonrat socialists. Were it not for underhanded tampering with election laws in a few states and a Supreme Court abrogating it duty to hear a case where one State sues another, things would be much different now.... Former President Jimmy and his wife deserve our congratulations for their long marriage. He is no longer the worst President in my lifetime.

Allow me to say that I saw this coming. Each time the conservative establishment raises a “moderate” leftist on its shield, a rude awakening follows. This may have already begun to happen in the case of Eric Adams, who is now the Democrats’ mayoral candidate in the Big Apple. In the recent race there, establishment conservatives lavished praise on this candidate, a former police captain who, we were told, would be tough on crime. In National Review, Kyle Smith assures us that Adams’ victory in the primary spells a probable defeat for “socialism” in the Big Apple: The never-ending quest to find some actual workers who supported the socialist agenda

Big Tech undeniably censored the American people for questioning the results of the 2020 election. Former President Donald Trump, several of his advisers, and even various citizens simply sharing their opinion were banned from major public platforms. This was in addition to various other Orwellian information-suppression techniques, such as flagging posts where Twitter staffers editorially disagreed, ‘fact-checking’claims with partisans invested in seeing Biden win the election, and ‘shadow-banning’ commenters who seemed to be a bit too skeptical about the various election anomalies and irregularities.

California’s slide into chaos has not been an accident. A huge reason for the striking rise in homelessness and both petty and violent crime is Prop 47, a bill deceptively titled the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act. The actual bill couldn’t be further from the title. It reduces the penalties for felony crimes, allows for early release of violent criminals, changes some violent felonies to misdemeanors, and allows criminals to steal up to $950 dollars per day in property without prosecution. As a result, police officers are less and less likely to respond to calls reporting petty theft, as there isn’t much they can do with a suspect.
