After what appears to be the fourth killing of a woman this year in a public place in Melbourne over the weekend, one of Victoria's most senior police has called on men to start taking responsibility for the violence. Assistant Commissioner Luke Cornelius says Melbourne is a safe city but attitudes against women needed to change.
Mr. Cornelius comments come in response to questions from reporters over the death of Courtney Herron in a Melbourne park on the weekend.

Can you imagine a police chief saying the skyrocketing crime rate in Chicago or Baltimore is caused by the behavior of black men? Of course not. It would be considered racist.

I take responsibility for what I do, because I am the only person I have any control over!!!!! I do not represent all women, nor do I feel any guilt for what other women do!!!!
What an incredibly sexist thing for this police commissioner to say!!!!! How about you do your job and find the murderer(s) instead of wasting time opining PC garbage?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I can't wait until he finds out that the murderers are muslim men, and then lets see if he still wants to play the "blame the whole group for the actions of one" game!!!!!

Another article indicated that they have arrested the suspect, a 27 year old homeless drug addict with mental issues. So, instead of doing their job of locking up crazy drug addicts who are camping out in public parks, the police have decided to lecture society on "men's attitudes towards women".

This is especially interesting to me as I was stalked by a grubby looking man while in Melbourne last year. I was looking into the window of a shop on the high end shopping street when a man appeared directly behind me, only an inch or two from my back. I didn’t hear him approach but saw him reflected in the window. I turned abruptly and began walking briskly down the street, checking behind me every few steps. Finally he wasn’t there and I thought that he had given up, but he must have only crossed the crowded street because a few blocks later he appeared next to me on a corner as I waited for the light to change. He crossed before it changed and headed up the narrow street ahead of me. I expect that he slipped into a doorway and awaited my approach, but I changed direction, backtracked and took a roundabout way to my hotel. I did not venture out of my hotel again until I left town the next day.
Safe city? Not so much.

Gee, I wonder leftist liberalism encouraging homelessness and welfare dependency will ever be brought up on charges??

They are called "criminals" and your worthless, cowardly "justice system" doesn't do enough to catch
them and put them away permanently, so you blame "men" at large.
I call BS and call on the police to do a better job. And if your women were permitted to be armed
with a handgun, this would help, too. But, of course, your dumbarsed Aussie view is that "guns cause
crime", so you insist on disarming the law abiding. It makes for a safer working environment for
your criminal class.

The latest "woke" PC claptrap coming from a tax-fattened law enforcement bureaucrat. "It's not the criminals' fault it's evil violent men". I guess it would never occur to this woke moron that it might have something to do with the police allowing mentally ill homeless bums to do drugs and live in public parks.
