Actress and singer Vanessa Williams will be singing the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” more commonly known as the Black National Anthem, as she hosts PBS’ 41st annual “A Capitol Fourth” celebration.
Williams said that she is singing the song as a way to promote “Juneteenth” on the Fourth of July.
“It’s in celebration of the wonderful opportunity that we now have to celebrate Juneteenth. So we are reflective of the times,” she told the Associated Press.
Juneteenth was made a federal holiday this year and already took place on June 19.

Decemsixth doesn't sound nearly as good as Juneteenth.
History and facts means nothing to these people anyway. Reality only sets them off on rants about racism.

I won’t be watching. Sorry. I’m an old school traditionalist and in my opinion some things should remain the same. Like the National Anthem. Considering who is occupying the capital this year we can expect an un American racist 4th. Enjoy.

Shouldn't a holiday called Juneteenth be celebrated on ... oh I don't know ... June 19th.

So why didn't they celebrate their holiday on June 19th, and not on the 4th of July? What's it got to do with the Capitol? Are they going to be allowed to visit it and use it for their celebration, but we are hounded and arrested for doing the same?

The first Miss America to resign her crown, she should count her blessings that Traci Lords appeared in that same issue of Penthouse. When it was subsequently learned that the latter was underage at the time, every copy of the September 1984 issue and the sapphic nude photos of the first black Miss America it contained immediately vanished. Only after the web came into being years later did the photos resurface for public viewing. Had the whole adventure occurred today, there would be cries of "Racism!" from every corner and the Congressional Black Caucus would see to it that she got to serve out her tour.

I hope that some American patriots make lots of unfriendly noise during her performance. And hopefully, the "baseball guy" brings his giant "Trump Won" sign to the event.

Great. A 4th of July celebration In the national capital featuring the division of the races. Let's hope we eventually get our country back, along with Mount Rushmore,

What black nation is the black anthem written for? A nation of fools run by fools. Sad!

I think Conservatives may be missing an opportunity by ignoring or ridiculing Juneteenth. We could celebrate it for what really is: the day Republicans liberated the last of the Democrats’ slaves.

What else would you expect from PBS? I heard an ad on the radio about this event and it sounded like PBS had lined up every America bashing far left kook they could find. This is hypocrisy on steroids.
If blacks want their own national anthem, let them go find and build their own country somewhere else on the planet.

If she wants to celebrate Juneteenth, then she should celebrate it on June 19th. July 4 is Independence Day.

If Blax need their own national anthem, then let them find their own country as well. I am sick to the back teeth of this constant drone of phony oppression on the part of one butthurt race that can't even manage to stop shooting and killing each other and everyone else.
GTFO.

Juneteenth is a holiday no one, including most blacks, cared a whit about till this year. Ditto Kwanzaa. And as usual the Left has taken a song whose words celebrate God, deliverance, and liberty and is perverting it to promote its evil agenda. It's what the Left does. Look up the words to "Lift Every Voice and Sing". It is a beautiful song. The words are inspiring. The motives of those claiming it as an anthem are the opposite of them in every way. The Left taints everything it touches.

After she sings, in place of fireworks, there will be an American flag burning ceremony.

Call me old-fashioned but you have to actually be a nation to have a national anthem. Regardless of what totally evil liberals will do or say to fool the American Negro population, we are not a black ,nor any particularly colored nation.

99.9% of America couldn’t tell you what June 19th stands for and now it’s a national holiday. I’m quite sure Ms. Williams spent most of her life in complete ignorance of the date and now she’s celebrating it. Whatever…

Independence Day is bigger than ANY president except maybe Washington and Lincoln. For me personally, the 40th and the 45th presidents will forever be my favorites until I am called home. By their leadership, they showed me my faith, hope and love of country was not merely jingoism. Biden didn't cause all our trouble by himself, but he has been chipping away at the constitution for more than 46 years. This is indeed our time of great testing.

There is now two Americas. The one with whites, Asians, Hispanics, Arabs, Jews, the huddled masses yearning to before, blah, blah, blah. And then there is Black America. As if somehow magically there are two competing races. Blacks and the racist other. One day we may actually realize the dream E pluribus unum.

Juneteenth was a regional holiday celebrated only by blacks in Texas until the early 1970s when the race hustlers noticed it and started trying to promote it as some sort of holy day.

June 19th is just another Government Holiday for it's employees. The private sector will not be taking part.

Juneteenth is a fake holiday anyway. The 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in the United States, was ratified on December 6th, which, incidentally, is the same date that both New Jersey and Dementia Joe's home state of Delaware finally emancipated their slaves.
