Vanessa Williams to Perform ‘Black National
Anthem’ During Capitol Fourth of July Celebration
to Promote ‘Juneteenth’

Actress and singer Vanessa Williams will be singing the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” more commonly known as the Black National Anthem, as she hosts PBS’ 41st annual “A Capitol Fourth” celebration. Williams said that she is singing the song as a way to promote “Juneteenth” on the Fourth of July. “It’s in celebration of the wonderful opportunity that we now have to celebrate Juneteenth. So we are reflective of the times,” she told the Associated Press. Juneteenth was made a federal holiday this year and already took place on June 19.

Comments:

Juneteenth is a fake holiday anyway. The 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in the United States, was ratified on December 6th, which, incidentally, is the same date that both New Jersey and Dementia Joe's home state of Delaware finally emancipated their slaves.

Decemsixth doesn't sound nearly as good as Juneteenth. History and facts means nothing to these people anyway. Reality only sets them off on rants about racism.

I won’t be watching. Sorry. I’m an old school traditionalist and in my opinion some things should remain the same. Like the National Anthem. Considering who is occupying the capital this year we can expect an un American racist 4th. Enjoy.

So why didn't they celebrate their holiday on June 19th, and not on the 4th of July? What's it got to do with the Capitol? Are they going to be allowed to visit it and use it for their celebration, but we are hounded and arrested for doing the same?

The first Miss America to resign her crown, she should count her blessings that Traci Lords appeared in that same issue of Penthouse. When it was subsequently learned that the latter was underage at the time, every copy of the September 1984 issue and the sapphic nude photos of the first black Miss America it contained immediately vanished. Only after the web came into being years later did the photos resurface for public viewing. Had the whole adventure occurred today, there would be cries of "Racism!" from every corner and the Congressional Black Caucus would see to it that she got to serve out her tour.

Juneteenth is a holiday no one, including most blacks, cared a whit about till this year. Ditto Kwanzaa. And as usual the Left has taken a song whose words celebrate God, deliverance, and liberty and is perverting it to promote its evil agenda. It's what the Left does. Look up the words to "Lift Every Voice and Sing". It is a beautiful song. The words are inspiring. The motives of those claiming it as an anthem are the opposite of them in every way. The Left taints everything it touches.

Independence Day is bigger than ANY president except maybe Washington and Lincoln. For me personally, the 40th and the 45th presidents will forever be my favorites until I am called home. By their leadership, they showed me my faith, hope and love of country was not merely jingoism. Biden didn't cause all our trouble by himself, but he has been chipping away at the constitution for more than 46 years. This is indeed our time of great testing.

A Florida condo building less than six blocks from the ruins of Champlain Towers South has been found to be structurally unsound — and residents are moving out in droves. Regent Palace in Surfside, whose residents funded their own engineering study after the June 24 collapse nearby, got an urgent notice from city inspectors about serious problems there — and didn’t wait to pack up and leave, WTVJ-TV said. “Honestly, you know, the building was analyzed and deemed unsafe, so we’re not gonna take any risk,” Regent resident Theo Magnat said.

The "silent majority" was mentioned by President Nixon in 1969, who labeled middle Americans who weren't protesting the Vietnam war or joining the counter culture — two activities being over-reported by the media of the day. The silent majority didn't speak up much but respected traditional American values with a good-natured approach to political issues. They were silent, but they voted. In 1972, Nixon was re-elected with one of the largest landslides in U.S. history — 520 electoral votes to only 17 for McGovern. Today, most Americans focus on work and family and trust that our elected officials will work for us,

Since January 6, the Democrats have played up the kerfuffle in the Capitol on January as the worst thing ever in American history, while ignoring the innumerable times leftists have aggressively invaded the Capitol. This is different, and the wrongdoers must be punished. The problem with this narrative, though, was revealed on Monday when the first person charged with a felony for January 6 got sentenced. Was the sentence life imprisonment? Beheading? No. It was eight months in prison. Talk about a narrative fail. Can a civilization continue to function when the most basic truths cannot be spoken, yet blatant falsehoods are dogma? When radical upheavals are justified not by wisdom, but by disorienting barrages of phony "outrages" and "crises"? Think of a great ship. A nuclear-powered aircraft carrier is an integrated system of immense complexity, requiring thousands of specially trained men to operate and maintain. What if someone suddenly replaced a carrier's human crew with 3,000 excitable chimpanzees? The giant vessel would soon drift to a halt, catch fire, and sink — while the chimps threw feces at each other.

How far can someone be goaded and bullied before he fights back? Most bullies are sociopaths and narcissists, adept at shifting the blame to their victims. They manipulate situations so the victim is the one who gets punished for the fight they were goaded into. Does this sound like what is happening right now, out in the open, on a national level, for all to see? Are we powerless to stop it? If we're not powerless, what can we do? The left cried "insurrection!" on January 6 and, ever since, has used that cry to intimidate us. The whole Capitol event, I'm convinced, was orchestrated.

MLB's All-Star Game, played Tuesday night, predictably tanked in the Nielsen ratings, delivering the second-lowest official total in the sport's history. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the game narrowly avoided "a third straight all-time audience low" with 8.24 million viewers, "about 100,000 more than the 2019 game's 8.14 million." Except, it's quite possible that this could indeed be the game's lowest ever viewership.
