Theory Is 'Reasonable And Appropriate' For Kids

The country’s largest teachers union has moved to undermine the left-wing talking point that critical race theory is not taught to children -- by voting promote it and arguing it is "reasonable and appropriate" to use CRT in social studies classes. The National Education Association has approved a plan to "publicize" critical race theory and dedicate a "team of staffers" to assist union members looking to "fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric."

Comments:

That teacher's union has got to go, all they are is a propaganda machine for the American hating left. 40 years of destruction. They gotta go

Worthless and evil! Get your kids out of any Liberal indoctrination camp with unionized teachers. Public sector unions are an abomination, the teacher's unions in particular. If you are bargaining with your boss as a member of a public sector unions, you are literally the adversary of the American people.

In most places, public schools are just daycare centers. You would be better off today to home school or form a small group of parents and hire a good teacher. This seems more popular than ever after the great lockdown hoax and I hope that is scaring the NEA.

They are wrong. Itr is a bunch of garbage. American Blacks who now live here are here because they chose to be. Liberia was founded for the slaves by the US so they would have a place to go. Those whose ancestors were living here made the decision to stay. These same unhappy people should blame them. Blacks and anyone else who have come here since q863 are here because they chose to, so shut up! Africa, Asia and South America have plenty of room for disgruntled people.

Found this in a recent article on two of the founders of this movement: CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist.. it teaches people to view EVERY social interaction, and PERSON, in terms of race. It must be exhausting to be in academia, many who themselves would be considered privileged and benefactors of their own privilege to be able to attend college in the 1960's and 1970's. And, realize that this looks to be the new way of gaining funds for education, so it's logical that they'd want to adopt it to ensure they will have the privilege of gaining that precious funding.

These are the same people who kept Teachers at home for a year, watching Soaps and eating anything they could get their hands on. These are the same people who wanted to go after the School Districts that opened schools last fall and allowed the children to LEARN in School, not on a Zoom screen. I would think every Parent would march to those School Board meetings and announce they will take their kids out of that school if CRT is taught there. Then fire the Superintendent. That's where it begins! Money talks. Schools are funded according to the number of students who attend each day. If those students drop out, no money for the school. Play hardball with them and hit them where it will hurt, in their Money Pot!

Schools of Education (somewhat of an oxymoron, I admit) take nice but very average kids and indoctrinate them into a marxist mold. This has been gradually getting worse over the years. Three things need to be done to fix this. One is to outlaw public "service" unions and the second is to get rid of the system of accreditation that favors the indoctrinated. The third is to simply get rid of schools of education. Content -- e.g. knowledge -- needs to be the basis for hiring. Not the happy horse sh**t that is taught to them about "teaching". Math cannot be successfully taught by people who (notoriously) cannot do it. Anyone who has had to teach a service course to proto-teachers knows what a pain it is to remediate them. Nice but generally dumb.

What a difference a couple of centuries make. In 1776, faced with obstacles more insidious and powerful than the NEA, about 1/3rd of the American population decided to throw off the yoke of King George III, knowing that doing so would pit them against the strongest military power of the era. They privations they endured can hardly be imagined today, when the best Americans can do is wring their hands about the powerful teacher's union. As far as that goes, a lot of hand wringing involves the partisan media. While we celebrate Independence Day, it must be noted that we are not the true heirs to the Minutemen and soldiers of 1776 as much as we are the beneficiaries of their sacrifices and post-war ideals and accomplishments.

In Texas, striking is currently illegal for public school employees. As a penalty for breaking this law, educators who strike will have their teaching certificates and their Teacher Retirement System (TRS) benefits permanently revoked. Teachers strike only where the citizens of the state allow it to happen.

Nope - Critical Theory/Critical Race Theory teaches hate. CRT looks at all social interactions through the lens of race & racism. It is Marxist at the root - tho' even the Neo-Marxists criticize CRT by noting: Workers of the world unite, not races of the world divide! According to the CRT you must ask: How did racism manifest itself in this conversation/situation/literature etc.? You must look for the aspect of racism until you find it. If you can't find it you did not look hard enough, because according to CT it is surely there, buried in the 'system'. It teaches negativity. Critical Theory actually has a technique of criticism call 'negative thinking'. One looks for the all the contradictions, injustices & negatives in a situation and exposes & denounces them - and somehow this is supposed to bring out the positives. Real life does not work that way.

ROME — Pope Francis cracked down Friday on the spread of the old Latin Mass, reversing one of Pope Benedict XVI’s signature decisions in a major challenge to traditionalist Catholics who immediately decried it as an attack on the ancient liturgy. Francis reimposed restrictions on celebrating the Latin Mass that Benedict relaxed in 2007. The pontiff said he was taking action because Benedict’s reform had become a source of division in the church and been used as a tool by Catholics opposed to the Second Vatican Council, the 1960s meetings that modernized the liturgy. Francis issued a new law requiring individual bishops to approve celebrations of the old Mass
