Angered by President Donald Trump’s commutation of the 40-month prison sentence of longtime friend and associate Roger Stone, House Democrats are planning to introduce two pieces of legislation aimed at curbing presidential pardon power.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), announced that the panel will hold a mark-up session on a pair of bills Thursday.

Two teenagers face charges after authorities said they threatened people with guns for not buying water from them in Buckhead. The separate incidents took place along a half-mile stretch of Peachtree Road on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, Atlanta police Sgt. John Chafee said Friday in a statement.
About 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers were flagged down by a man near Peachtree and Piedmont roads, according to the statement. The man said a group of juveniles who had been selling water at the intersection assaulted him.

The latest incident occurred Saturday afternoon when two women from Staten Island, ages 39 and 29, were arrested after they were seen pouring paint on the mural, the department said.

The White House has finally had it with the incompetence and partisanship of the CDC, and it couldn’t come fast enough for me. It has ordered all data on COVID-19 to be sent directly to the Department of Health and Human Services bypassing the CDC completely.
If there was any doubt left that it would be completely suicidal for President Trump to agree to a general election debate with live "fact-checking," as some dim liberals have proposed, his interview with Fox News's Chris Wallace just removed it.
A clip of the interview set to air Sunday was released two days earlier, and in the snippet, Wallace asks Trump about the race riots throughout the country, specifically naming New York and Chicago, where violent crimes have spiked in recent weeks.
Trump correctly noted that the cities with the highest crimes, including those two, are run from top to bottom by Democrats.
Usually, a president who delivered seven million new jobs and a historically low unemployment rate can run for re-election on his economic program. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic destroyed the economy. Thus, President Trump’s masterful stewardship of the economy is no longer apparent as Americans struggle to deal with economic lockdowns, virus mandates, and high unemployment.
As the nation returns to lockdown mode again with an increase in virus numbers, economic progress will be curtailed. This issue is no longer the president’s best way to win re-election.

Last night Communist and Anarchist rioters attacked the statue of Christopher Columbus in Grant Park, Chicago. Police tried to guard the statue, and a pitched battle ensued, with 18 police officers injured and a dozen rioters–nowhere near enough–arrested. The rioters gained temporary ascendancy over the police, got control over the statue and attempted to pull it down, but without success–unlike the vandals who tore down the statue of Columbus on the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol.

The United States Bureau of Prisons released a disgraced Democratic ex-congressman Thursday without explaining why he should not be out of prison with more than five years left on his sentence.
Former Pennsylvania representative Chaka Fattah was convicted on charges of bribery and corruption connected to his failed Philadelphia mayoral campaign, in which he accepted an illegal $1 million loan. But the Bureau of Prisons has not offered an explanation for the release, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Florida detectives said Saturday they were investigating the deaths of three close friends who drove to a lake at night to go catfishing and wound up beaten and shot.
It happened Friday night around 10 p.m. on Lake Streety in Frostproof.
“This is a horrific scene,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters from the scene Saturday morning. “I’ve been to a lot of murder scenes and this ranked among the worst I’ve been to.” Judd identified the victims as Damion Tillman, 23; Keven Springfield, 30, and Brandon Rollins, 27, all of Frostproof, and said they had been "massacred."

A dog named Cleo who disappeared from her home in Kansas earlier this month turned up a few days later at her old home in Missouri, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) away.
Colton Michael told television station KMBC that the 4-year-old Labrador retriever-border collie mix showed up on the front porch of his family's home in Lawson, which is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) northeast of Kansas City.
At first, she wouldn't let anyone get near her, said Michael, who has lived in the home for nearly two years. “She finds her way home, and there’s some strangers living in it. That would be scary for anybody,” he said.
