Japan’s government will start paying its companies to move factories out of China and back home or to Southeast Asia, part of a new program to secure supply chains and reduce dependence on manufacturing in China. Fifty-seven companies including privately-held facemask-maker Iris Ohyama Inc. and Sharp Corp. will receive a total of 57.4 billion yen ($536 million) in subsidies from the government, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Friday. Another 30 firms will receive money to move manufacturing to Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand and other Southeast Asian nations, according to a separate announcement, which didn’t provide details on the amount of compensation.

Better idea. How about the U.S. as well as Japan just tells all of the companies that went to China that their products would be highly taxed before they could be sold in the country. To avoid this, all they would have to do is move back to and produce all of their products in their original country.

Some have figured out that China doesn't want to just get rich, they want to use that money to dominate the world by building weapons. A totalitarian nation with the means to take over the world by destruction or spreading a virus is extremely dangerous to freedom. The Chinese government is not your friend.

We need to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get ALL US owned companies to remove 100% of their production from China. China is the enemy. Every factory that a US company has there is a boon to the Chinese Communists' military machine.

Why did they move those companies there in the first place when the CCP keeps stoking anger over a war that happened 80 years ago with most of the participants almost gone?

Russia has to be a little nervous about China, which shares a long border. Russia has a lot of resources the Chinese need. What would we do if China and Russia got into a war? Russia could only use Nukes, since it doesn't have a military capable of defending itself otherwise against the Chinese. Think about that. If China expanded that much they would then be a real threat to all of Europe, and then the rest of the World!

The New York Times is standing by a February 2017 report alleging that Trump associates were in communication with Russian intelligence officers, even after the release of an internal FBI memo that identified numerous inaccuracies in the story. “We stand by our reporting,” New York Times spokeswoman Eileen Murphy told her own paper for its report on the newly released documents. Attorney General William Barr declassified two documents this week related to the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. One released Friday is a 57-page memo of interviews that dossier author Christopher Steele’s primary source conducted with the FBI in January 2017.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.) accused the FBI of running a bogus tip line while investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the latest in a sequence of serious but unsubstantiated claims the Rhode Island Democrat has made about Kavanaugh and his confirmation process. The senator spoke Wednesday by Zoom to an Ohio chapter of the American Constitution Society (ACS), a progressive judicial group. Three attendees told the Washington Free Beacon that Whitehouse twice asserted that the FBI operated a "fake" tip line while purporting to investigate the justice.

Joe E. Collins III grew up in South-Central Los Angeles in a neighborhood where crime literally struck home the day a drive-by shooting left bullet holes in both the windows and the family sofa. Inner city life did not faze the young man, who later joined the Navy, became a fighter-jet mechanic, saw combat in Operation Iraqi Freedom, served as a Navy recruiter, and was certified as both a financial planner and a mental health counselor. We’ve been writing about Kim Gardner, the incompetent leftist St. Louis prosecutor, who is persecuting the McCloskeys for defending their home against a mob. We’ve also been encouraging readers to contribute here to the campaign of Mary Pat Carl, who is running against Gardner in next month’s primary. The importance of this primary is highlighted by news that a George Soros-linked group has contributed $78,000 to Gardner’s campaign. This is part of Soros’ effort to undermine order in the U.S. by electing prosecutors who want to hamstring the police and go easy on criminals. His organization backed Gardner financially in 2016, and it’s doing so again this year.

If there was any doubt left that it would be completely suicidal for President Trump to agree to a general election debate with live "fact-checking," as some dim liberals have proposed, his interview with Fox News's Chris Wallace just removed it. A clip of the interview set to air Sunday was released two days earlier, and in the snippet, Wallace asks Trump about the race riots throughout the country, specifically naming New York and Chicago, where violent crimes have spiked in recent weeks. Trump correctly noted that the cities with the highest crimes, including those two, are run from top to bottom by Democrats.

Usually, a president who delivered seven million new jobs and a historically low unemployment rate can run for re-election on his economic program. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic destroyed the economy. Thus, President Trump’s masterful stewardship of the economy is no longer apparent as Americans struggle to deal with economic lockdowns, virus mandates, and high unemployment. As the nation returns to lockdown mode again with an increase in virus numbers, economic progress will be curtailed. This issue is no longer the president’s best way to win re-election.

Despite phased reopenings across the country, the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic continues keeping unemployment too high and straining personal finances. With the unemployment rate at 11.1% and a severe credit crunch ongoing, many people need access to affordable, short-term credit. While some may turn to bank loans or credit cards, more than 12 million Americans rely on payday loans each year to make ends meet. It’s telling that a number of states with mandatory stay-at-home orders have deemed payday lenders so vital to the economy that they’ve been declared essential businesses.
