There must be no real outrages left in America if so-called progressives have nothing better to do than turn their collective rage on Goya, because the ubiquitous food company's president went to the White House where he announced he was giving 1 million cans of chickpeas and another million pounds of food to American food banks.
The brute, Goya President Bob Unanue, had the cheek to praise America's chief executive during a round-table with Hispanic leaders. Unanue said America was "blessed" to have a leader like President Trump who is "an incredible builder." He added: "And we pray. We pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country

I was never really aware of the Goya brand before all this nonsense started; now I actively shop for their products. I expect this boycott will be about as successful as the boycott of Chick-fil-A, i.e. it will only serve to increase their sales.

Chick-fil-a surrendered - Cathey Jr backed down to liberals and apologized.

There is no civil society.
Society has become uncivil. Individuals can freely be destroyed for something they did 20 years ago. Words no longer mean what they once meant. When you speak you have no idea what you are saying, as definitions are fluid and ever-changing. A premium once meant that you purchased a policy and agreed to regular payments. Now a premium is a tax which you must pay whether you agree or not. Sex once meant biological capacity: testes, produce sperm, or ovaries, produce eggs. Now sex means whatever you happen to prefer on that day. Private property once meant you owned the property. Now it means government can take it away from you and give it to someone else. And a waterway once meant water which would float a boat. Now it means any old puddle wherever found after a rainstorm. To say that a person mattered once meant that the person counted for something. Now to say Black Lives Matter means to support felons who forcibly avoid arrest. And so on.
Many careers have been ended by cancel culture, and there are many more to come.
It has gotten really crazy out there. Wendy's is now against hamburger. How absurd.
Do not doubt me. You can be cancelled at any time, by anyone, for any reason.
You can't even defend your home if it is approached by a mob. The cops will come take your gun away so you are without protection.
Some civil society.

Was at my local grocer this morning in Central NC. No Goya products to be found outside of soda and fruit drinks (stuff I have no use for and apparently others, too). Sold Out! I will try again next week.

This nonsense only backfires on the Left - every time. Goya is now enjoying record sales. The Golden Calves of the left suffer, NFL, NASCAR, Nike, Hollywood, fast food joints that donated to BLM, Ford, GM and all of the pandering doofuses that are displaying their appeasement messages to anarchists. Let them think they are making "progress" but they are only burying themselves. They won't even realize it until quarterly financial results show them the bad news.

No comparison to Goya. We who had supported Chik Fil A faithfully were mighty disappointed when they not only publicly caved but were found to be giving generously to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
We are visiting up in the Ozarks and the rural grocery stores busy ordering lots of Goya. One grocery, in business for 60 years, said on a sign they are expanding their Goya products too. I have yet to be able to find a can of beans! Shelves empty!

Went shopping this am for a couple things...checked out the Goya section..they still had some stuff left but not what I was looking for...ended up on Amazon and bought some stuff there...Goya website is a bit strange...you can't actually order anything there, it sends you to a link to 'order from a recipe' or Amazon.com...they have no actual ordering online capability..much of the stuff on Amazon is by second party sellers. Oh well, the order is in anyway...

Goya makes excellent, and good quality products. Been using their bean mix for soup for years. Somebody has decided to throw an ethics complaint at Ivanka for supporting this product, and it would not surprise me if they toss one at Trump just for the heck of it.

I love Chick-fil-A. Good food, the best service. I would go out of my way when traveling to find a Chick-fil-A. Not any more. Never again. Nope. The day their CEO said we should be shining black folks's shoes did it for me. I wrote them a letter (well, email) and told them that that was one of the most obsequious and disgusting things I could remember. I didn't get a response, and didn't expect to. Here's the story: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8443159/Chick-fil-CEO-urges-white-people-repent-racism-shining-black-strangers-shoes.html I stocked up on Goya while at Kroger the other day. The shelves were almost empty.

civil society in trouble cause of a boycott ? Where has this author been ? the trouble has been here since our legal system failed to follow it’s impartial course . When criminals triumph & thrive & innocents are persecuted, maligned the system isn’t considered legitimate. The Goya blackmail attempt is at least one small thing us normals can override . But it didn’t start this rampage through all our institutions.

But the boycott has been a total failure, so there's hope.

The Goya boycott backfire gives me hope that there are still a heck of a lot of people in this country who are sick to death of this cancel culture foolishness. Babylon Bee has a funny piece about other CEO's are now asking the left to boycott their companies to help raise their sales.

# 3 - we often drive by Chik Fil A. There was always a long line there. Not anymore. Didn't see anyone in line the last few times we drove by. Good. Hope he goes broke.

Civil society? Where does the writer live? Mayberry? I can't were a red hat with "Make America Great Again" in public and she is just getting around to thinking civil society MIGHT be imperiled?
In a span of 90 days, Americans bought 6 million guns. My Mom cannot even find additional boxes of .38 Special locally for the Colt Detective Special I bought her 20 years ago.
Civil society?

#17 it's just not .38...I spent a couple hours this afternoon visiting every ammo online store I knew about and a couple new ones...9mm, 38, 380, 45....nothing available...It's worse than it was a couple years ago. Two weeks ago I stopped at a reloading store..the owner said they couldn't reload enough to even put any on the shelves...the stuff was sold before it was made....
