Angered by President Donald Trump’s commutation of the 40-month prison sentence of longtime friend and associate Roger Stone, House Democrats are planning to introduce two pieces of legislation aimed at curbing presidential pardon power.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), announced that the panel will hold a mark-up session on a pair of bills Thursday.
“The first, H.R. 1627, the Abuse of the Pardon Power Prevention Act, will allow us a measure of transparency into the President’s power to pardon federal crimes and commute federal sentences,” Nadler said.
“If the president uses the powers of his office to shield himself and his family from federal investigations,

Nadler is spinning his wheels while the nation has very serious problems. The new laws that he is proposing have no chance of passing and being signed into law by President Trump, who is the obvious target of those unconstitutional would be laws.

whejn Dollar Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas, hje pardoned his brother, Roger, for state felonies.
When Dollar Bill Clinton was leaving office, he pardoned Roger for federal crimes. and at the very time Roger was being pardoned for federal crimes, Roger was selling access for pardons by Dollar Bill Clinton.
The president has absolute power to pardon, and to commute sentences. congress cannot legislate away that power. Even Chief Judas John Roberts would agree. Even barely alive Ruthie would agree. Even the two 'ladies' on the Court, dancing on the edge of LBGTQ merriment, would agree. And even the motor mouth Breyer would agree.
therefore, Nadler, just shut up.

From the Way-Back Machine - 2001:
WASHINGTON — President Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich is a saga of secrecy, tenacity, sleight of hand and pressure from Rich's ex-wife and one of her friends, who together have steered millions of dollars to Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton's causes and those of fellow Democrats.
Whether it is a story of bribery as well or illegal gifts from abroad is the subject of congressional inquiries and a criminal investigation by the FBI and the U.S. attorney's office in New York.
Anyone remember what Nadler et al did to Clinton and Holder about this one?

And the irony is that what the slob Nadler wants to do IS actually an attempt to abuse power!

Didn't hear these buttwipes screaming when the obammienator pardoned all those felons before he left office...and they can 'do up' all the stinking bills they want, they still have to pass the Senate and the President has to sign off...these idiots really are a bunch of buffoned baboons....

Wow, that is a special level of stupid.
They are upset that President Trump commuted his sentence. So they are going to waste time and money passing legislation in the House to try to undo that, which won't pass the Senate, and certainly would never survive a veto by President Trump who commuted his sentence in the first place!!!
Are there any Demon-Rats who have actually read the Constitution, much less taken a basic government class?!?!?!? I sure aren't seeing any signs that any of them have!!!
