The family that owns The New York
Times were slaveholders

It’s far worse than I thought. In addition to the many links between the family that owns The New York Times and the Civil War Confederacy, new evidence shows that members of the extended family were slaveholders.Last Sunday, I recounted that Bertha Levy Ochs, the mother of Times patriarch Adolph S. Ochs, supported the South and slavery. She was caught smuggling medicine to Confederates in a baby carriage and her brother Oscar joined the rebel army.I have since learned that, according to a family history, Oscar Levy fought alongside two Mississippi cousins, meaning at least three members of Bertha’s family fought for secession.
What has that got to do with 2020 ? They are dead, as are the slaves. The current family members do not own slaves, nor does anybody else in this country. Does Goodwin want protesters to burn down the NYT?

Only acceptable solution is for the NYT to liquidate all its assets and distribute to the colored.

Michael, not gonna happen. It's not about redemption, for them, it's about optics and agenda.
The Sulzburgers follow in the grand Jewish tradition of casting and worshiping a golden calf while Moses speaks with God on the mountain.
Wrong-headed and self-serving.

You are, of course right. However, We will abide by that if the radical leftists will. Being ‘good’ little dimokrat-radicals, the slimes will not, so turn-about is justice.
I say Slime the slimes and the donk they rode in on!!

Then the white CEO should resign, all white employees should be fired and crawl out the door on their knees, only black employees retained/hired, and all remaining receive annual reparations in perpetuity. Right?

Yet another embarrassingly nasty flatus in the already malodorous NYT downward-headed elevator to irrelevance.

it's so boring and tiring to everyday in these times to hear slave and slavery in 2020. My eyes roll back in my head at the mention of it but then the purveyors of it do receive a bit a karma now and then like the NYT. This 'woke' blackness is going to consume some of the righteous ones who promote and stand with this ridiculous theme.

RE#! In a sane world, you ask a legitimate question.
However, sanity has departed half the electorate. New rules have been imposed on white and conservative America. By bringing up the NY Times past, the author is either A: Attempting to apply the new rules to liberals ab B: Pointing out the hypocrisy of the left.
Reasoning with a leftists is a waste of time, as is pointing out hypocrisy.
Kurt Schlicter has said repeatedly that the left wont like the new rules.

Yes it is 2020 and the NYT is basically holding every white American alive today accountable for what they say happened in 1619.We are expected to pay for the sins of the father sixteen generations later? And, most of us have no guilty ancestors. The Gray Lady has a past and doth protest too much

Nothing will happen to the Slimes just as nothing has happened to Yale or Vanderbilt Universities. They are hotbeds of leftism so their slave holding and slave trading founders will not be held against them.

I say the fate of the Ochs family depends on how fast Thermidor comes. Nearly every member of the Girondin leadership of the French Revolution eventually perished as the Jacobins turned on them: Bailly (for which read de Blasio) was lynched by the mob for being too moderate, Condorcet (the avatar of many at the moment) killed himself to avoid the guillotine, the Girondin party in the Assembly were many many executed by the Jacobins, Lafayette (for whom read Rowling) fled....

Awkward! The Slimes might live by political correctness but rest assured that they will not die by political correctness. There are two sets of rules--one for the anointed, enlightened and protected and one for republicans.

Makes no send to go after long gone ancestors - either right or left (unless it's for blatant political manipulation). It's what we do that counts and the NYT has done plenty. They continually disgrace their "paper of record" with slanted news or outright lies.
However, maybe some of NYT positions have something to do with overcompensating for guilt about their own ancestors. If that's the case maybe it doesn't hurt to get it aired out.

Remember Silent Sam at UNC Chapel Hill, the statue dedicated to UNC alumni that were killed in the Civil War? Sam was removed because he triggered the UNC snowflakes (which includes the administration and faculty). They are now looking to rename buildings named after people that were know to be slave owners.
Anyhow, multiple buildings at UNC Chapel Hill were built by slave labor. Somehow, these buildings continue to stand. Old East, Old West, Gerrard Hall, South Building, Steward’s Hall, Person Hall, Smith Hall, and the original President’s House all were build using slaves owned or hired by the University’s trustees, employees, students, architects, and the townspeople of Chapel Hill.
If Silent Sam had to be removed, how can these buildings continue to be part of the campus and not trigger the do gooders of Chapel Hill NC?

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
the band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
and somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
but there is no joy in Gotham: the mighty New York Times has struck out.

Very appropriate article. What is good for US is good for them.
I did not know the NYT owners were Jewish slave exploiters. I did know that Karl Marx was one of the Tribe, of course.
