NBC and MSNBC science contributor Dr. Joseph Fair documented his battle with coronavirus — until admitting he did not actually have it after all.
The Daily Caller reported Friday: “Dr. Joseph Fair, a virologist, believed he had the virus and appeared on air numerous times to discuss his struggle with illness in May and June. On Tuesday, Fair admitted that he tested negative for the virus multiple times but had originally believed he had it regardless. Fair also tested negative upon taking an antibody test.”

Yale psychiatrist Dr. Bandy X. Lee told The Kyle Olson Show this week that she doesn’t believe a President Joe Biden potentially suffering from “cognitive issues or even mental illness” is “of concern.”
Lee and over 30 mental health experts published a book titled, “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” in 2019, wherein she called for presidential candidates to be subjected to “a panel” of psychiatrists, who would determine that individual’s mental fitness to serve as president. [Video]
Lee argued it’s “ordinary” for subjects to be analyzed for a “life-and-death” job, but didn’t indicate what should happen if a panel deemed a president to be “unfit.”
The left-wing political group Black Lives Matter is seeking support in Congress for radical legislation that would, among other things, close all federal prisons and immigration detention centers.
The bill “would eliminate federal programs and agencies used to finance and expand the U.S. criminal-legal system, such as the Department of Defense 1033 program, the Edward Byrne-Justice Assistance Grant Program, Community Oriented Policing Services, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” the bill states.

Multiple Five Guys employees have been fired or suspended from the Daphne, Alabama, location after they refused to serve members of the Daphne Police Department, according to a statement from the company.

Around 9 a.m. Thursday, Chicago police responded to a call of a man found unresponsive in the 1100 Block of South Michigan Avenue, near the south end of Grant Park. The man was pronounced dead on the scene around 9:30 am according to officials. Chicago police have since updated the incident to a homicide.

Before Thursday morning I had not heard of Thomas Bosco, and I am willing to bet you haven't heard of him either. He runs a café in Upper Manhattan. From the picture in the New York Times, the Indian Road Café is one of those Bobo-friendly brick-lined coffee shops with chalkboard menus affixed to the wall behind the counter and a small stage for down-on-their-luck musicians to warble a few bars of "Fast Car" as you sip on a no-foam latte while editing a diversity training manual. Today, the Supreme Court navigated its way through disputes about the disclosure of President Trump’s financial records without doing much harm (in my view, at least). However, the Court issued a real stinker in a case that was under my radar — McGirt v. Oklahoma.
By a 5-4 vote, the Court decided that much of Oklahoma is “Indian country” for the purpose of prosecuting crimes committed by Indians. Justice Gorsuch joined the four left-liberals and wrote the opinion.
Gorsuch’s idiosyncratic “textualism” has become the joker in Supreme Court litigation (Justice Scalia’s sound textualism wasn’t). Today, the joker was wild.

An Ohio State University professor with ties to China is charged with using more than $4 million in U.S. grant money to develop rheumatology and immunology expertise for the Chinese government, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday.
Song Guo Zheng, 57, was arrested on May 22 at an airport in Anchorage, Alaska while preparing to board a charter flight to China, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a press release. It happened either late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
