President Trump on Friday said he is telling the Treasury Department to look into the tax-exempt status and the funding of "universities and school systems" over alleged left-wing bias, saying that children should not be "indoctrinated." "Too many Universities and School Systems are about Radical Left Indoctrination, not Education," Trump said in a pair of tweets. "Therefore, I am telling the Treasury Department to re-examine their Tax-Exempt Status... and/or Funding, which will be taken away if this Propaganda or Act Against Public Policy continues. Our children must be Educated, not Indoctrinated!"

I hope Trump cuts off all funding of these institutions. They have plenty of money anyway, and are greedily overpaying themselves.

That would be a start. Now about those communistic public schools, from pre-school up!

Our children should be taught HOW to think, not WHAT to think.

The dems will howl, but the example of how this is done was shown us by a Lois Lerner, so it must be legal.

If they take political positions, they should NOT be tax exempt. That is very clear.
I wonder if there are any with the spine in Congress to do this?

Out-friggin'-standing! It's about time. I was watching Tucker Carlson last night, and he was talking about Harvard. Their tax-free endowment totals over $40,000,000,000. They're starting classes in the fall, and they're all online. Despite the reduced costs of not having students in classrooms, their tuition bills won't be reduced one red cent. They have a pretty good scam going; it needs to end.

Religious places of worship are not allowed to express their political views. Why should educational institutions. Had an 18 year old call into a local radio show. The young man told of a teacher who mocked students and the flag when saying the pledge of allegiance. The teacher should have been marched out of the building. He is there to teach not to indoctrinate

The school systems around this country are little liberal kingdoms. No one can question the people who run them, or the classes that are taught. Forget getting rid of a particular teacher that teaches leftist policy. The school system will rally around that teacher and protect them. Fund the police, but defund school systems that continue to teach anti-American ideas.

This idea could help push the idea of the need for diversity of opinion and ideas on all high school and college campuses.
And, it should include the ability of teachers, professors, adjust-professors, staff and administrators too.
After all, if they demand corporate boards now have certain amount of diversity, then a demand for diverse political views on every college board, committee and panel should be something they'd embrace, right?

YES!!!
I'd love for this to happen! I cant even begin to express the frustration, even in such apolitical classes as physics, chemistry, mathematics and religion where your politics colored your success.
Do it, do it DO IT!!

#7, that changed with a DJT executive order. Churches now can openly discuss/support political positions. Jimmy Swaggart and his crew have taken full advantage of that change.
It is a bad idea to go after the tax status of colleges and universities because of political bias. that's a misuse of the tax code. And, political bias is in the eye of the beholders. Bad idea. Impossible to carry out.

My desire would be to pillory or at least hang in effigy the 39th President of the US because of his grave error is removing Education from HEW. Making the Dept. of Education a branch unto itself filled those pompous asses so full of hot air they could float!! After October 17, 1979, every schoolhouse with a water fountain and an indoor toilet could call itself a School of Education. The national symbol was the yellow school bus (a vehicle with which to remove YOUR child from your care).

I want a magic wand for my birthday. I'd wave that stick and make the Department of Education disappear in a nanosecond.

Having lost education to leftists for the past 40 years, to save America as founded it is imperative that the education of children be restored to morality and substance, not leftist propaganda. To that end, because “money talks” and it is, for the most part, taxpayer money, President Trump’s directive to review the tax-exempt status of universities and schools is a good start. Republicans have long berated leftist indoctrination and this is their time to stand up and be counted—support President Trump, for “the sake of the children,” and for America as founded: In God We Trust, and as a Representative Republic.
