Mark Zuckerberg clearly hasn’t gotten the memo.
The Facebook founder persists in defending free expression, even though free speech has fallen decidedly out of fashion.
His reward for adhering to what once would have been a commonsensical, if not banal, view of the value of the free exchange of ideas: being vilified for running a “hate-speech” machine and getting boycotted by major US companies.
At a widely noted speech at Georgetown University last fall, Zuckerberg stated

The only deal you can make with a hungry alligator is that he will eat you last.
Old Zuck is getting hoisted on his own petard. Now he knows what it feels like to deal with nut jobs. Despite the principle being a good one, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Is Rich Lowry that stupid to know that the president's quote,"when the looting starts, the shooting starts"refers to people defending their property, not the government shooting at the looters (although that wouldn't be a bad idea).

Facebook censors have been erasing conservative posts for years and now he is in the horns of a dilemma. Who do you please, people with brains and common sense or the lunatic left? We are a bigger group of users but the loons currently have louder voices and dirtier tactics. They should have adhered to a policy of free speech with exceptions for profanity or pornography without consideration of politics. Sucks to be Zuck.

Perhaps Zuck can identify with the parents who paid to send their precious children off to get a college degree and prepare them for life.....and then they came back home and trashed their parents and their home town and their country.

Zuckerberg is a billionaire. He will never have to make another dime, and still will be able to live in the lap of luxury for the rest of his life. I'd tell the whiny SJW's to pound sand, if I were him. Let facebook return to what it started out to be, a place for narcissists to show everyone, whether they care or not, every facet of their dull lives.

#2, when the president said that, I took it to mean that the looting wouldn’t be enough violence for the ferals and that, hyped up by the whole scenario, they would start shooting each other. And once again, Trump was exactly right - just look at the shooting deaths in inner cities which have skyrocketed in the last month.
BTW, Zuck deserves everything being thrown at him right now - karma.

FTA, the last sentence - "If Zuckerberg can nonetheless be browbeaten out of his well-considered support for a free-speech-centric approach to his platform, it will be a particularly portentous omen, in a period of our national life full of them."
Even though I don't do FB and never have, social media had allowed itself to become weaponized years ago. In many cases, certainly not all, there are folks whose own lives are lacking in terms of fulfilment, rely on social media as means for expressing both anger and happiness because it is easy and impersonal. Kind of like a car driver flipping off a discourteous driver knowing they will never know each other.
These days, our young people are in constant need for approval from their social media friends who really aren't their friends, hence, their use of social media to get as many "likes" as they can. A platform like FB allows for expression and control of human emotion.
Zuckerberg has made a fortune based on human emotion and behavior. But, he made his bed and now he has to sleep in it. He has a very evil leftist eye starring him down.

A person's value to the left only lasts as long as they are useful. The democrats will trash anyone who does not stay within the bounds of their narrative. There are many examples of people who were once ''good democrats'' that are now looking at the underside of the bus.
