Trump commutes Roger Stone's sentence

President Trump on Friday commuted the sentence of longtime confidant Roger Stone after the former campaign adviser was sentenced to serve three years and four months in prison. The decision capped a saga that has roiled the Justice Department and divided some of the president’s advisers. Stone was set to report to prison on July 14, but his allies had lobbied for a pardon or a commutation, citing his risk of contracting coronavirus while in jail. The move Friday did not come as a surprise, as Trump had at various points in recent months signaled he was leaning toward intervening in Stone’s case.

It's tragic - - a crying shame - - that this move was necessary. I'm sure President Trump was reluctant to do it - - but he had to. Now the question becomes - - when will Roger's criminal persecutors - - among them Muleface and Weissmann - - get their due? When will their homes be raided by automatic weapon carrying SWAT teams - - including frogmen and helicopters? Are you listening AG Barr? Put down those freaking bagpipes - - and do something worthwhile!

Ye Be Judged—And Ye Be CanceledBy now, it’s become obvious that every historical personage can be judged and found wanting–and thus must be, to apply the voguish phrase, “canceled.” To the well informed, the fact that all people are flawed is not a revelation; after all, just about every intellectual and theological system in human history has been built around the premise that everyone has failings. For instance, the historically-minded have always understood that men and women are by definition products of the time in which they live—and so they can only be fairly judged in the context of their era. The organization called on local authorities to "keep school campuses closed when the semester begins on Aug. 18." Astoundingly, it would also give legal status to all the world’s refugees regardless of the legitimacy of their claim to the status.
