One could perhaps have excused them their earlier indiscretions of November 2016. He was, after all, an unknown quantity, an outsider of questionable conservative pedigree. Indeed, Donald Trump had been a fairly typical New York liberal Democrat for much of his life. And he had led a less than stellar moral life. And so the pile-on at the time by National Review and others could perhaps have been forgiven, although not really, when one considered the alternative. As I had written at the time:
Do we not grow weary of the sanctimonious ones? The Never Trumpers that endlessly hector and scold,

Never Trumpers have been blinded by their hatred of the president and his disruption of their cozy lifestyle along the Potomac and in the Nancy-boy salons of NYC. If they had any intellectual honesty at all they would slink away quietly into the night after viewing any Trump rally - they have become Republican leper’s and will never be welcomed back into the fold. They are Judas.

This is the peril and the folly of a linear political spectrum, because right and left are not poles. At best they are positions on a circle or a two-dimensional graph but even that is not a completely accurate or clear representation.
But let's stipulate left/right for the purposes of this discussion. Many on the so-called right are, in fact, leftists. How do I know this? They don't want one iota of government reduced, devolved, delegated, eliminated, unempowered or otherwise affected in any way.
They don't want to cut the pencil budget, eliminate the job of the guy shaking doorknobs at night, or eliminate the Senior District Regional Supervising Manager of Mowing Park Lawns at the GSA. They most certainly don't want anyone with political power, elected or appointed, affected adversely.
The entire reason the people 'on the right' congregate in DC and attempt to ingratiate themselves with government is power - or the halo of power. 'If X is important then I am important because I interact with X' goes the thinking.
They aren't opposed to DC control freakery - they merely want to be in charge of it.

There's nothing useful about them. It's not a matter of principle, they're just desperately trying to cling to past social status.

Yeah but they're smarter than us. Just listen to them on the talking head shows and read their articles. As a lifelong member of the illiterate unwashed masses, I grovel at their feet and marvel at their wisdom. Please lead me!

I suppose they may be useful idiots...and let's not forget how many thought they were useful before they turned on Trump. Those halcyon days when Dubya was the greatest of all time. Ral conservatives subscribed to National Review. Devoured George Will wherever his punditry appeared. Pined for Peggy Noonan's next splendiferous essay.
Opposition to PDT is less ideological than simply based on the loss these people and those like them suffered at the hands of the "Deplorables". Their Ivy class ties were no longer the automatic ticket. Worse, their gravy train was being hijacked while their genteel thoughts exposed and trampled. Like the mean kids at the "right" school cafeteria table, they reacted to all this with a fury.
Don't think the "impeachment" of PDT is some grand Democrat plot. These people and others Republicans/conservatives like them are full players in this Dump Trump UNIPARTY game.

Neo-cons, never-Trumpers and RINO’s are not deep thinking and nuanced and although they are desperate to be seen as such. They are cocktail chatterers, opportunists, conformists and cowards. In other words, they are social climbing skunks living in the middle of the road.

The author gives them too much credit. Lenin's comment about "useful idiots" referred to people who naively supported the communist agenda because they misunderstood its true nature and goals.
Does anyone think that Jonah Goldberg, Rich Lowry, Ben Shapiro, and Bill Kristol naively misunderstood the Left in 2016? Of course not. They joined it. They endorsed the Left's dishonest narratives, echoed its talking points, and worked--both openly and surreptitiously--to elect the Left's candidate. If they had been successful in their efforts, Hillary Clinton would president, the Supreme Court would lost, and the CIA and FBI would have been further politicized and unleashed to target domestic political opponents.
They weren't dupes; they actively conspired with our enemies to destroy the candidate who has become the most effective force for conservatism in my lifetime. They didn't naively misunderstand the Left; they misunderstood Trump--stupidly, consistently, and viciously--and placed us all atvrisk. There's no coming back from something like that. I will never trust them again.

Their virulent opposition to Trump, even to the levels of insanity that the dems have used, shows that the Never Trumpers have NO moral, ethical, or logical superiority to Trump's supporters.
"They cover themselves in shame."
And they expose themselves as petty, irrational, whining fools. They are not worth listening to. It also explains why Republicans never made any progress, even when in political power. THESE are the type of people that were holding us back.
Trump has actually delivered on a lot of what they gave lip service to. That they refuse to recognize this or give due credit shows them as duplicitous, jealous, and resentful. It also shows that THE most important thing for them is for the elite to be in charge, not the people. THAT makes them the antithesis of "government of the people, by the people, for the people". They are a clique. What really matters to them is NOT what you think or do but whether you are a member of their haut monde club.

I believe the American people flexed their electoral muscles and showed the Never-Trumpers they were a power to be reckoned with. They cannot fathom that we would ever think for ourselves and actually vote for someone they had not recommended. How could we dare to ignore them? The more desperate they become, the more determined we are to never allow them to influence our thinking. The scales are dropping off and we now see that the ruling class is in it for themselves. The gamble we took paid off beyond our imaginations and hopefully will inspire more Americans to take a real look at the people who proclaim they are fighting for you. Clearly, they are not and have intention of doing so. Trump has been transformative to the Republican Party in the best sense of the word. We now have a leader who understand it’s not all about him, it’s about what is best for the country and the American people and we are never going back to the way it was.

Study this chapter and be wise.
Most all of our politicians are evil servants of Satan full of lust and greed. Prime example are all those who follow and vote Marxist Communist democrats and Rino's into power over the people.
However, they have purchased for themselves nothing but torment now and eternally. I feel sorry for them, however, I have no control over their corrupt minds. If, I AM THAT I AM, cannot convince them the error of their ways no one else can. Their souls are lost.

I was in my hold and squeeze focused on my front sight, slowing my heart rate for the perfect shot then I got to the last paragraph where the author used the term "Pseudo-Right."
Like little piggies fighting each other for the prime position at the slop trough the never Trumpers are no different than the other little piggies.
#2, I used to play with a circular model of the political spectrum where 12 o'clock is a rather precarious balance representing individual liberty and that a move left or right easily slips to 6 o'clock totalitarianism.
I'm back to linear with no government or anarchy at one extreme and totalitarianism on the other. If it helps that line in either direction can "Y" off to various forms but in the end the differences are largely vocabulary.
I don't even know what to call my endpoints and avoid doing so because our definitions have become so convoluted as it suits who ever it attempting to manipulate us at any given moment.
One day Hitler's Fascism is the extreme right the next day the extreme right wants to end all government. By noon that day anyone who supports the constitution is on the extreme right. The leftist language hijackers don't just have it both ways they have it all ways.

These smarter-than-all-the-rest-of-us 'fools' don't seem to care about good things happening to Americans. Apparently, they all have a 'screwed up' sense of importance and a value system that prevents them from acknowledging how Trump has improved the lives of many here in our country, and around the globe. They are despicable, petulant and immature; perhaps 'envious' as well - putting their own feelings and sense of self worth ahead of Americans' success because of President Trump. Instead of celebrating these 'good things', they've all got their collective 'panties in a bunch'. Sadly reprehensible!

Trump cannot be a legitimate president - - until George Will, Bill Kristol, Peggy Noonan, Jonah Goldberg, Rich Lowry, and Bret Stephens say he is.
Or at least that's what THEY think.

Ben Shapiro is not against President Trump. His comments at times are unintelligently and purposefully misinterpreted and reported by the Marxist Communists trying to convince intelligent non Marxist Communist people that he is a liar trying to fool anyone who will believe them.
Don't be fooled by the Marxist Communists trying to destroy our Constitutional Republic.
Be a leader in our Constitutional and Bill of Right empowerment over the evil of these Satanist Marxist Communist democrats and Rino's. Make your own tracks to support president Trump in his efforts to return all Americans to our Constitutional Republic.

Puhlease. They are elites among their fellows, and/or in their own minds. Not to me. I really can't picture Rob Reiner as an elite, anytime, anywhere. Rich? No doubt. But an elite?

#19, here's Ben Shapiro in 2016:
https://www.dailywire.com/news/shapiro-i-will-never-vote-donald-trump-heres-why-ben-shapiro
The link alone tells the story. Shapiro's article begins "I will never vote for Donald Trump. Ever. I will never vote for Donald Trump because I stand with certain principles."
However, I respectfully recommend reading the whole thing. It would be hard to pack more pompous into less space.

Ben Shapiro?? I can see the other 3 being violently anti-Trump, NR notwithstanding. Kristol, of course. but Shapiro? I have listened to him for the last time; regardless of his stance today. Buh-bye.
