Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said after “slow-walking” the process of sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate, Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited President Trump to deliver the State of the Union so she can drive the media narrative.
He also had some advice for the president on how to respond.
“Tell Nancy Pelosi when you deliver [the articles] and we have a trial, and after I’m acquitted, I will come to have the State of the Union. Not until then,” Bannon said in an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Host Maria Bartiromo referenced a comment made by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.,

I saw this. His argument is spot on. And so is his support of our President.
I am pleased to see him again. He is a clear asset to our cause.

I agree. I'd like to see Hunter and Sleepy Joe called to testify. And hillary too!

There's no requirement for an appearance before the joint session, nor any set time requirement. Previous Presidents sent over occasional letters to fulfill the Constitutional requirement of "from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the Union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient."

I rarely disagree with Bannon but in this case I REALLY do. While on the surface it sounds like a good idea for Trump to fight back and demand to call witnesses, I think Bannon's forgetting the role of the 24/7 media and their ability to cherry pick testimony and distort the news with their hysteria.
The Demos have not deviated one iota from their long established modus operandi. Their goal is ALWAYS to just get their toe in the door, to get the Pubbies to waver...and then they can sit back and let the sycophant media take over and move their agenda forward. In this case, once McConnell agrees to call witnesses, the Demos will have their toe-in-the-door and we will see a re-run of Kavenaugh---starting with Bolton and ending with an endless line of Ballsey-Ford types popping up from the woodwork--- right before the election.
Yeah, yeah. Hunter could be called to testify. But even if he were called, who thinks the media would give his testimony equal scrutiny or fair coverage? I think if the Senate Pubbies agree to further witnesses, they're opening a Pandora's box that doesn't NEED to be opened.

I think Steve has good motives. BUT, as already stated, I don’t believe allowing ANYTHING the rats want is good for the President. Do the bare bones and dismiss, or better yet, not accept something so lacking in substance and facts.

I agree with Bannon that the President should NOT give his address until after the Impeachment trial is over! Then, IMHO, I think he should send Nancy a letter and decline her offer to give his address to Congress. He should then give that Address from the Oval Office to Congress and the Country. That will take away Nancy's chance to sit behind him and smirk as she did last year. He will cut her out completely!

I agree with Bannon to have a full trial. Then the President must have the best-of-the-best on his legal team, and, as Bannon has said, people all over the world will watch it, and it will be a memorable American experience for everyone.

That isn't how the constitution works Mr. Bannon. After the interview with Epstein's French butler/caretaker of his Paris residence, I don't think Trump wants you anywhere near his WH. I know I don't. Let Trump release his SOTU as a letter, or maybe he could hold a rally somewhere to give the speech.
He is not an asset to our side, not if he is hanging out in the French residences of a known pedophile. Could be why Trump cut ties with him so abruptly too. He banned Epstein from his resorts, so why not Bannon?

Agree with #4. No to a full trial. President Trump's attorneys Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekalow can carry the ball on his behalf. Mr President be presidential and prudent and don't give the jackals anything more than is required by the constitution. Don't trust anyone and don't give them anything.
Yes to #6 giving the SOTU from the Oval office. However, knowing Trump, that most likely won't happen.

It's a Democrat trap to spend all your time on impeachment. That is winning for the Democrats. POTUS will decide what is the right thing to do for the SOTU, face the House criminals, or elsewhere.

I have to say, regardless of my opinion, Donald J Trump has taught me that he is better at this than anyone else I have ever seen in my lifetime. He will prevail.
