Former Secretary of State John Kerry complained Thursday that President Donald Trump was ruining everything he and former President Barack Obama achieved with the Iran deal.
“He put his disdain for anything done by the last administration ahead of his duty to keep the country safe,” Kerry wrote in a mournful 1,000 word op-ed for the New York Times. The former secretary of state is currently supporting former Vice President Joe Biden for president and campaigning for him in Iowa.
Kerry argued the Iran nuclear deal was working, but Trump threw it all away, which only empowered Iran’s Quds Force Commander Qasem Suleimani.

Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist for Rush, died Tuesday, January 7th, in Santa Monica, California at age 67, according to Elliot Mintz, a family spokesperson. A 12-year-old boy opened fire in his classroom in Mexico, killing his teacher and injuring six others, according to a local report. The sixth-grader then committed suicide inside the Cervantes de Torreón elementary school in the state of Coahuila, state official Adelaido Flores told Spanish-language outlet Milenio. Six people were injured — five students and another teacher, the paper reported. Donald Trump has sent a 'happy birthday' message to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
Chung Eui-yong, South Korea's national security adviser, said Trump gave him the message to pass along to Kim during a meeting in Washington on Wednesday.
Chung told South Korean media that Trump wanted President Moon Jae-in to relay the message, and believes it was delivered the next day. Chung did not reveal the exact contents of the message, and did not say how it was received by the North Koreans.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defiantly held on to the articles of impeachment Thursday despite cracks in support from congressional Democrats and ramped up efforts by Senate Republicans to take matters into their own hands.
The California Democrat suggested she won’t block the Senate trial indefinitely, saying the two articles of impeachment against President Trump would be transmitted “soon.” But she insisted the Senate first make public the rules for the trial.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested two men wanted for sex offenses in the U.S. and seized nearly a half-million dollars in cocaine at a Texas port of entry over the weekend.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, a senior member of Temple Beth Shalom in Santa Fe accused Plame, 56, of falsely claiming membership to the temple after she told the newspaper she had recently found out her great-grandfather was a rabbi in Ukraine and she had “always been drawn to that aspect of my Jewish heritage.”
