Chick-fil-A Has a Change of Heart

Late last year Chick-fil-A ruffled feathers across the fruited plain when they announced they would no longer provide charitable donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Salvation Army.
Both organizations had faced years of withering attacks from sex and gender revolutionaries who were angered because the two renowned Christian ministries affirmed the biblical definition of marriage.
So when Chick-fil-A made their decision public, many Christians accused the company of backing down to a bunch of militant LGBTQ bullies. And in response many of Chick-fil-A's staunchest supporters flew the coop.

They'll have to prove themselves before I return as a customer. It will never be enough to use profits to affirm support for Christian values. But will they play a game also buying favor from those who espouse sin?

It’s not enough. Unless they denounce the LGBTQ crap and start re-giving to the Salvation Army et.al they still won’t have my patronage.

Labeling different belief as hate speech is an easy way to stifle speech and dissent, especially when the taking away of livelihood is packaged with it. This is a tactic of far left organizations.

Chick-fil-A has a very good chicken sandwich. I used to go out of my way at lunchtime to find one of their outlets. But, with their decision to turn their back on the very people who made them a success, my enthusiasm was tempered.
I tried the new Popeyes chicken sandwich, and it is very good also, and it is a bigger piece of chicken and is a bit more moist. I do wish Popeyes would put lettuce on their sandwich, though. Still, it is at least as good as Chick-fil-A, and perhaps tastier.

I read his letter. If their priority is "hunger, homelessness and education", how did Salvation Army get tossed and LGBTQ get promoted? Salvation Army took in men that we could not help in our Katrina shelter. What does LGBTQ do during Katrina, other than promote their preferences as mainstream?

The fact that Dan Cathy called these two Christian groups "outstanding organizations" only underscores how hypocritical CFA was and is in this matter. CFA is now just another business profiting from professing put-on Christian ideals, and it happens to be closed on Sunday.

Re-read the letter, Todd Starnes! Mr. Cathy is still spinning the same load of bull he gave Franklin Graham. Don't buy it! The Cathy family need to step up and give lots of their own money to the Christian institutions they harmed and maligned. Otherwise, they are throwing shade on all of us. Never set foot in CFA again until that family put their own money to work for the Salvation Army, et al.

#6 CFA's" ambiance" provides a better and safer dining experience than Popeye's. And CFA's condiments and much tastier and the presentation adds substance and makes the dining experience memorable.

Chick-fil-A had WON the battle with the homosexual jihadists who tried to shut them down back in 2012. By seemingly defying the sodomites they won a loyal following and boosted sales to the point where they were ranked #3 in the nation's fast food industry. And they just threw it all away with this incredibly foolish PR blunder. It was bad enough that they denounced the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes as "homophobic" (as if that was a bad thing - Christians MUST renounce sin while inviting the sinner to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ not coddle active sinners and pussyfoot around as too many are apparently so ready to do) but then it turns out they are giving donations to far left groups like the SPLC and groups who openly support the sodomite agenda. I find it impossible to come up with any coherent explanation for CFA's actions other than pure hypocrisy.
Trust and respect are very hard to regain once betrayed and degraded. I suspect that they took a big hit on the bottom line in the 4th quarter last year and are trying to come up with some way to repair the damage. Words alone will not do the job for them

Next CFA will support community trannie story hour at your local store....
Wonder if Cathay the Lesser is looking to take company public....
He should get Mitt Romney & Rex Tillerson on his board - they did such a good job destroying BSA.
EY should be their auditor, the head of EY was big supporter of gender parity on BSA board, of course that old white guy has retired, enjoying his pension, and the BSA is heading to bankruptcy court....

Re: #15 - CFA already supports Covenant House, which sponsors "drag queen story hour" at public libraries. This is nothing but a lot of lip service. I'll believe they think they made a mistake when they restore the donations. Until then, talk is cheap.

It seems that when their "principles" kept their stores out of airports and college campuses, or had their stores closed down, all of a sudden those "principles" were disposable, along with the good will of all the customers who stood by them. Cathy's letter is a PR guy's gobbledygook, saying nothing.

It's amazing how a huge drop in profits can cause a panic in the richest of people. The explanation falls far short of their actions. The boneheads in the NFL and at Dick's have yet to admit that they are hurting but I would imagine that their losses are in the tens of millions for their stands against American values. Chic-fil-A has been added to my long list of businesses that I have not seen in years like Ben and Jerry's, Target, Nike, anything Hollywood, Starbucks, anything Disney, etc. etc. You can hit them where it hurts without doing anything illegal.

I remember a time when corporations stayed out of the political fray in order to maximize their income. Now they decide which side of the cultural aisle will cause them the least grief. Ie: who will demonstrate most violently outside our stores, ANTIFA or Christians?
If I were the CEO, I'd stop all donations and be done with it.

This could have been completely avoided by not giving to anyone and returning the profits to the business, or the stockholders. Virtue signaling is so transparently phoney.
On the plus side, they have shown who they are. They see which way the crowd is going, run out front and pretend they are leading.

I am not boycotting CfA. But their recent move away from good Christian values just made me lose my taste for them.
I used to eat at CfA at least 2 or 3+ times a week. I actually went over 20 miles out of my way to eat at a CfA on several occasions. I didn't mind paying the higher prices for fast food, since I felt like I was supporting a company I believed in. I really liked their yummy chicken sandwiches, but I loved their values even more. When they decided to "water down" those values, it was just too much for me to keep going out of my way to support them.
What I am hearing now is "lip service". I want to see actual action. But I'm sure CfA fears the gaystappo more than they want my business, so I have been saving my money and eating elsewhere lately.

Like #6, I made it a point to seek out a CFA when I heard that they were a Christian company. I like their grilled chicken sandwich and their fruit cup or greek yogurt are great, too. But this switch from Salvation Army to a LGBT group has meant that I will eat at CFA if it is convenient but I will NOT go out of my way for their company.
Supporting homosexuals over Salvation Army is unforgivable to me. This is a sign of a serious error in judgment. Very serious.

Will Chick-fil-A publicly state that it does not believe the Salvation Army and FCA are hate groups because of the ministries' beliefs about sexuality, marriage, and family?
This is a good question to ask. I will keep this in my back pocket and ask any of my friends and my employer. This is pushing back and it's doing so in a manner that forces our opposition to live by their own rules.

Once upon a time, I lived less than 3 blocks from Al Copelands Popeyes #1 store. I have never had a problem with the ambience and I've never felt unsafe in on of their stores. They also have a lot more choices on the menu. And, the chicken sandwich is great tasting and a good value for the money.

I believe the Salvation Army was trashed because homeless women did not want biological men in the Salvation Army's women's shelters and the SA complied with the women's requests. As others have posted here, I used to go out of my way to buy at Chick-Fil-A. Not anymore.

Has Popeye's been targeted by the same hate groups that targeted Chick-fil-A? I doubt it. We need to pray in earnest for Dan Cathey, instead of throwing stones at him. They are good people. For all have sinned and come short!

Sounds like crawdadding to me. The lack of common sense demonstrated by the overly educated denizens of corporate America is mind boggling, and their lack of understanding their customer base is laughable if it weren't so sad. They really should try reaching out more to actual customers instead of the corporate glad handers.

Agree #13. Had Popeye's once. EEEWWW. Syrup on a waffle on chicken? Yuck. Plus you have a pretty good chance of getting BEAT UP in Popeye's. No thanks. I believe Chick-Fil-A has it right in their hearts, and I am willing to be gracious and forgiving, and will wait further developments. And might need to drive aways to get me a nice grilled chicken sandwich tomorrow.

The American Family Association sent them signed petitions.
I don't have a chicken in this fight because I don't eat chicken, but it seems CEO's underestimate the power of real customers. Ask Penney's. They can cater to the gay maffia, but there are more of US than them.

The fundamental problem is that Chik-fil-A hired a Leftist to run the Chik-Fil-A Foundation, which is the organization that directs where their charitable donation go.
Until that Leftist is replaced, the directing of CFA charitable funds to Leftist causes will continue, albeit more 'under the radar' than before.
