The Jan. 7 shooting death of Renee Good has become a political Rorschach test. A Quinnipiac poll released on Tuesday finds that a majority of American voters, 53%, believe ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who shot Good on a Minneapolis street last Wednesday, was not justified in doing so. Thirty-five percent believe the shooting was justified, while 12% have no opinion. But the poll results vary widely when the respondents’ political affiliations are examined. Seventy-seven percent of Republicans believe the shooting was justified, while 28% of independents and only four percent of Democrats hold the same opinion. These poll results are unsurprising. Republicans were doubtful but the Dem cohort overwhelming agreed - and 16 people were condemned and executed - during the mass formation psychosis episode we remember as "The Salem Witch Trials". What's old comes new again.

Dunphy, who writes, "I’ve been a police officer for more than 40 years," responds cogently to criticisms from the left about the shooting of the irritating woman in the Honda Pilot, who accelerated toward the officer. Nice essay. I'm in agreement with everything in it. One other thing: Look at Dunphy's picture in PJ Media's author lineup. Does that face remind you of a famous actor? Just the facts, ma'am. Wouldn't you say that Dunphy is Jack Webb's doppelgänger?

Again, Quinnipiac polling is total crap, as is most any poll coming out of any university. As soon as I see it's a Quinnipiac poll, I immediately move on, full knowing that what would follow will be manipulated statistical lies designed solely to push the DNC talking points of the day. You should do the same.

Leftist propaganda like that quoted "Litman" hit piece are read by credulous people, and they scream "murder"....when in reality it was fully justified. And, I will say again, it can be at the same time fully justified and a real tragedy that she is dead. Whether she intended to run over the officer to harm him, or just was exceptionally stupid in her reactions to the order to get out of the car....we can never know. Ulitmately, what SHE did precipitated the whole thing. ALL on her, 100%. As her relative said "She should have minded her own business".

A majority of people found the shooting unjustifiable. We are seeing George Floyd, Version 2.0. People never learn. Democrats will milk this to the next Presidential election. It might work too. Usually, the left has to change up their lines of attack. It doesn't look like that is even necessary anymore. Witness leftist brainwashing in action.

Money line: I do not, however, share Litman’s opinion that the FBI and other federal agencies should cooperate with a Minnesota state investigation. There is no reason to believe Jonathan Ross would be treated any more fairly than was Derek Chauvin, whose trial was a farce and whose continued imprisonment is a stain on Minnesota’s entire justice system.

Mark Halperin released his January installment of his “8 for ’28” Democratic nomination rankings, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom remains at the top of the list. Remarkably, another failed governor — Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker — made the biggest jump in the rankings and now sits at No. 4. The third member of that trifecta of America’s worst governors, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, almost became vice president, which would have made him a heartbeat away from the presidency. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Federal officers in the Minneapolis-area participating in its largest recent U.S. immigration enforcement operation can’t detain or tear gas peaceful protesters who aren’t obstructing authorities, including when these people are observing the agents, a judge in Minnesota ruled Friday. U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez’s ruling addresses a case filed in December on behalf of six Minnesota activists. The six are among the thousands who have been observing the activities of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol officers enforcing the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area since last month. Federal agents and demonstrators have repeatedly clashed since the crackdown began.
