A billionaire's yacht was renamed after the media mogul didn't realize that the ship's title, spelled backwards, was a vulgar antisemitic phrase.
Larry Ellison, once the world's richest person and the co-founder of the media and entertainment conglomerate, Oracle, renamed his German-built yacht the Izanami, which, spelt backwards, reads: 'I'm a nazi'.
The 81-year-old chose to name the enormous, 191-foot vessel after a Shinto deity in Japanese mythology, the goddess of creation and death, seemingly without realizing the phrase it spelled in reverse.
Ellison, whose family has strong ties to Israel, became aware of the vile phrase and renamed the yacht, according to Futurism.
The yacht owner has repeatedly shown his support for Israel,

Omg and when we played innocent records backwards as kids they said all sorts of things.
Did you also know that you can use the 26 letters of the English alphabet, when arranged properly, to also s{ell out "iamanazi"?
We should just stop using words and just grunt.

It took me a few seconds to realize the name by reading backwards. Who but the perpetually offended look at everything as improper.

Gee...nobody hated Larry until he started "Approving" of Trump.
Originally built in 1993 by German Yacht company Lurssen for a Japanese businessman, the 191-foot superyacht was named for a Shinto deity. But Ellison soon realized after he bought it in 1999 that the name read backwards: “I’m a Nazi.”
“Izanami and Izanagi are the names of the two Shinto deities that gave birth to the Japanese islands, or so legend has it,” Ellison said in “Softwar,” a 2013 biography. “When the local newspapers started pointing out that Izanami was ‘I’m a Nazi’ spelled backward, I had the choice of explaining Shintoism to the reporters at the San Francisco Chronicle or changing the name of the boat”. He took the easier option, He renamed the boat Ronin and later sold it. Also unmentioned in these stories...He sold it to a Venezuelan Billionaire closely connected to Chavez/Maduro. It has changed hands several times, currently owned by an Italian Big Pharma guy...Price? $33Million.
What was interesting about the yacht at the time of it's building was...It was very modernistic, and verrrry fast, 30+Kph. All Aluminum and built/shaped like a Modern Naval Stealth Frigate(but painted white instead of gray) He bought it about the Time he got into serious sailboat Racing, and it was mothership for his Americas Cup team.

This story fetched a laugh from me. Confusion in the water. When "Revolution 9" from The Beatles' "White Album" was played backwards, in some places, the lyrics said, "Turn me on, dead man." (You needed a reel to reel to hear this.) The big question is ... where did all those preachers in '68 to '69 get turntables that ran backwards? (Lennon did not say, "I buried Paul" at the end of "Strawberry Fields Forever." He said, "Cranberry sauce.)

Pure stupidity. The word "Nazi" means much more than antisemitism because they hated everybody else in the world by calling themselves the Master Race. The word "Drof" means troubled, disturbed or murky in some context other than "Ford" spelled backwards but I don't care what it is. Every Ford on the highway would be having its emblem replaced. We could have a field day with this nonsense. Anybody who owns a big yacht should be smart enough to just laugh off this kind of silliness.

This is ridiculous. Someone in this world (in Israel???) has way too much time on his/her hands to spend life reading words backwards to see what happens. But I see that Ellison wasted little time in renaming his ship.

If that yacht was built recently in Germany, it is doubtful that German shipyard executives and workers, if they could understand the English language, would have knowingly painted such a name on the hull of the yacht, as these days expressing anything got to do with the Nazis in Germany in what the Germans these days call the National Socialist Era (Nazi) could well be a criminal offense under modern German law. Of course if any German in Germany painted that name on the hull of the yacht they would deny that they knew of any connection to the Nazis. Really much to do about nothing but what a coincidence!

ALL of Larry's yachts have had Japanese names, and his silicon valley home is designed as a feudal Japan era mansion, with gardens and grounds to match. It is a bit strange, is it not, that today's leftists abhor and screech about ANYTHING they can connect to Nazi's, when it was the Japanese that did the most damage to america and much of the world. Nazis remained in Europe, Japanese were truly hemispheric in their violent tyrannies and ambitions. Both saw themselves as a Master Race..

Naming anything after a Japanese idol is just plain stoopid. Why not name it after an American naval ship, hero, or inventor?
There's a YouTube video of a Japanese guy who looks at the photos of tattoos of Japanese characters on the social media pages of people who were told meant something by their American tattoo artist. What those symbols actually meant is nothing short of side-ripping hilarious! Use "Google Translate" people!
