“Don’t give up the ship.” The phrase was made famous by Captain James Lawrence as he lay mortally wounded from the battle between his USS Chesapeake and British frigate HMS Shannon off the coast of Boston during the War of 1812.
Unfortunately for the captain, even though his phrase became legendary within the Navy, his ship was in fact captured by the Brits.
Now, a group of Democrat lawmakers is reviving the exhortation in a minute-and-a-half video that urges military troops and intelligence officials to defy orders from above that they deem illegal. Although Donald Trump is not mentioned by name, it’s clear that they’re referring

The seditionist's rationale for mutiny. What ever happened to quitting and running to the Times? Or writing "Seven Days in November?" Not liking the political decisions of Trump puts them in the role of General Scott.

This sure looks like treason to me, and as we are in a NarcoTerror war, these traitors are liable for the death penalty. Maybe a good long length of their favorite weed - hemp - would be appropriate.

Like Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally before them, they appear to trying to undercut the loyalty and effectiveness of law enforcement, military and national security personnel, and to add a moment of hesitation and fear in every action they undertake. I think most people in those positions are well aware of their liabilities and duties under the pertinent laws and treaties. This is clearly a totally gratuitous campaign by Demo malcontents, and I'm not sure they realize the legal trouble and career impacts they are asking for.

Those calumnious cranks seem to forget the second half of the oath they all swore...and are never relieved of.
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
They also seem to forget...THEY are nowhere in the Chain of Command, and have no right, or privilege to "Address the Troops", nor to intervene in their chain of command in any form or fashion.(Notice too...they left out the Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space force in their missive)

This order must be coming from The Central Command. (Chappaqua, perhaps? Sure sounds like PIAPS “resistance” model.)
There’s not a communist in Congress with the brains to devise such a plan.

This may sound innocent to some, but if enacted would burden the troops with deciding between political pats on the back and time in Ft Leavenworth jail. There is already an option for troops to decline immoral orders. There is a clearer line of morality.

Had a retired Master Sergeant do the same thing in the duty section during the Bush 43 years. He was trying to convince the young troops to disobey some order or other. I had a little chat with him and it stopped, and he later decided to be employed elsewhere. It just blew me away that someone spent an entire career doing his duty and obeying orders, then suggested the young guys who were just coming up throw away their own chances for that over political foolishness.

Look for some liberal member of the military to be willing to martyr themselves for the Democrat cause and disregard some Trump/Hegseth military directive. The Democrats will flock like pigeons to this person in support and make them a media martyr. Probably a black, gay, female (or male wanna be female) who feels that the current military directives are illegal or unconstitutional.

These people have no business being in the Congress of the United States.
They say there is nothing new under the sun but in the history of the United States no group of members of Congress has ever told the military not to obey the orders of the President.
It is treason. Flat out treason, and they must be punished.

I guess when you have no new ideas or policy proposals, you resort to this garbage. Sitting members of Congress openly defying their Oath to the Constitution. Will Republicans STOP treating their "friends across the aisle" as friend and/or colleagues. They are the enemy.

nowhere did they condone illegal behavior
*******
Yes, they did. Telling military and intelligence not to follow the Commander-in-chief's orders is illegal.
This is clearly Kelly's baby... These people should be prosecuted for inciting disobedience. And they didn't describe what would be "illegal orders"

They should charge the politician for sedition or encouraging sedition. There are certain orders that can be disobeyed, that is unlawful orders or unreasonable orders such as ordering a person into a village and killing all inhabitants.

Democrats are encouraging members of our military to be on the lookout for "illegal orders" but carefully avoiding any specifics about what "illegal orders" might look like. They're setting a trap for others. They're trying to elicit disobedience, promising to "have their backs" while knowing full well that individuals dumb enough to take the bait and disobey orders will end up destroying their own careers, and quite possibly serve time in prison. The more Dems try to foment rebellion by encouraging recruits to do their dirty work, the more certain I am that Dems, not our Commander in Chief, pose the greatest threat to our nation and our national interests. As a former Democrat I am disgusted by the anti-American, pro-Communist, perpetually aggrieved "leadership" of a party I once thought cared about middle America.
