Nov. 18 should henceforth be recognized as far more dangerous than Jan. 6 ever was. Far more shocking. And an actual attempt at fomenting an insurrection, a coup. The “Nov. 18ers” should be forever shamed and discredited. Rather than hundreds of unruly Trump supporters strolling through the Capitol building, many of whom were subsequently incarcerated for doing so, we have just witnessed six sitting Democratic lawmakers openly urge members of the military and intelligence community to defy direct orders from the president of the United States.

The steep decline in academic readiness among its first-year students is particularly noticeable in mathematics. Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz — Kamala Harris’s former aw-shucks VP sidekick — now faces a scandal so colossal it could swallow the state budget whole. Over 480 Department of Human Services (DHS) employees have blown the whistle, accusing Walz of masterminding a cover-up for a Somali immigrant-led fraud ring that siphoned more than $1 billion from social programs.
That’s billion with a B — stolen through COVID relief scams, fake autism diagnoses, and Medicaid kickbacks, with funds funneled overseas, including to Al-Shabaab terrorists. One standout grifter, 29-year-old Asha Farhan Hassan, allegedly pocketed $14 million alone from programs meant for vulnerable kids.

In Episode 2, the narrative is slavery and the evil colonists, including George Washington. After defaming George Washington, Burns adopts the canard that slavery was a cause of the American Revolution, and portrays slavery as an unchallenged colonial evil, ignoring the colonies’ abolitionist movement, a world first.
How bad is the Somali fraud scandal, in which the State of Minnesota allowed Somalis to rip off the system to the tune of $1 billion, some of them using the cash to bankroll Al Shabaab terrorism?

Good news: five years after George Floyd’s death, and four years after the civil rights dumpster fire trial that Judge Peter Cahill oversaw—a trial that led to the convictions of Officers Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng—there is finally a serious, well-constructed challenge to the verdicts in those cases. Attorney Greg Joseph has filed an appeal that directly confronts what he argues were grave judicial and prosecutorial abuses, as well as violations of the officers’ civil rights. One can only hope that justice will be served.

The past week has seen quite an uproar over the suggestion by Kommander Kelly and his Kosmic Krew that military personnel should decide for themselves what orders from the president of the United States they will choose to obey. It’s been rumored that Kelly is under investigation by the Department of the Navy (does anyone know if the Navy Department became separate after the War Department was reestablished, as it was in days gone by?) They should throw the book at him. He’s an officer, and he knows better. What hasn’t come up, though, is that this is a direct result of the noxious actions of Mark Milley

The Epstein scandal is taking center stage and evolving rapidly. It started as a grim tale of sex trafficking and exploitation, and morphed into a partisan battleground. The Epstein Transparency Act nearly unanimously passed the House and then cleared the Senate via unanimous consent shortly thereafter.
A discharge petition in the House bypassed leadership and forced a vote on the transparency bill. The bill passed with a tally of 427-1, compelling the DoJ to disclose Epstein-related materials within 30 days, excluding victim identities and explicit content like child pornography. Should America’s constitutional republic ever fall, the most likely cause of death will be its corrupt institutions. When citizens lose faith in the “system” and have exhausted all available remedies to “fix” that “system,” they will feel wholly disconnected from the government that rules over them. A cascade of institutional crises will exacerbate public distrust in the “system” until the “system’s” legitimacy collapses.
Should that foreboding and chaotic event come, a primary driver will have been the public’s complete loss of faith in the courts of the United States.
