President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, a Catholic, fired off a scathing response to a recent letter from U.S. Catholic bishops after they put out a “special pastoral letter” that slammed the administration for its deportation policies and operations following their yearly fall meeting last week. More Catholics need to push back against the ridiculous and unhealthy political views liberal clergy keep pushing. Every nation has the right to protect itself and its borders, a principle that, until recent years, didn’t spark much controversy.

I'd place my bet on Homan to be right. The bishops are supposed to teach precepts while the laity apply them to the facts. Homan has a thousand percent of the facts.

Deposit all expelled latinos directly in Vatican City. If the Cosplaying guards make trouble; turn them in to Swiss Cheese. How many divisions does the Pope have?

I am quite sure that when Pope Leo set out to get Peruvian citizenship, he followed the correct procedures and obeyed Peruvian law. A friend of mine got French citizenship and followed their law. That's all I ask. My great grandfather from Luxembourg got American citizenship and he followed the law.

#2, regarding “how many divisions does the. Pope have?”: Stalin said that to Churchill to mock the influence of the Church. Stalin and the Soviet Union are long gone and remembered only for their evil, but the Church and the Papacy are still here and still going strong. By quoting Stalin you are, perhaps unwittingly, acknowledging that. I agree with Homan but still respect the Papacy.

Perhaps the Papacy should respect our laws and mind its own business. I think the Pope has bigger fish to fry like all the Christians being murdered by Islamists in Africa.

I suspect there is a causal relationship between Dioceses such as Detroit closing churches for lack of participation, and public displays such as these done by the US Catholic Bishops. I think the Catholic Church needs to pay taxes before they have any right to be pontificating about spending other people's money for criminals.

Send illegals to the Vatican and let THEM support these millions. Catholics have lots of money to bring them to other countries. Let 1HEM support illegals at THEIR home.

Jesus said "Render unto Caesar” in a similar situation. For some lagniappe, maybe these bishops should also heed Catechism 2240:
“Submission to authority and co-responsibility for the common good make it morally obligatory to pay taxes, exercise the right to vote, AND DEFEND ONE'S COUNTRY.” That includes respecting its laws.
Immigration laws exist to protect fairness, security, and sovereignty of a nation. Enforcing them is not cruelty but a duty entrusted to governing authorities. In fact, enforcing them would go far toward dismantling the lucrative trafficking trade and save lives.
We have obligations both to God and to civil authority. We can uphold the law and still advocate humane, just treatment for those affected. But abandoning the rule of law under the guise of compassion is neither Christian nor moral.
And #9, don't be an ash-hoe.

The business of the Catholic Church is saving souls, period. It's not about playing politics, making nice with the world and screaming climate change. These pathetic bishops are lousy shepherds, modernists, heretics and promoting the globalist new synodal church. They praise law breaking invaders and persecute traditional Catholics by suppressing the Traditional Latin Mass and taking away kneelers for receiving the Eucharist, the source and summit of the Faith. Only Bishop Strickland is brave enough to speak the Truth --the rest are hirelings.

I'm almost done with the Catholic Church. I am a Eucharistic minister and sometime usher for my church. But, I am so disgusted that this Pope and these Bishops, who have long been problems in the Church, have made no pronouncements or even uttered a word about political violence, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the attempted assassinations on Trump and, Trump's spectacular efforts to bring peace to the world. This Pope and these bishops could give a hoot about people's souls. What they really want is that unending stream of American taxpayer money to launder through their so-called NGOs.

Why didn't the Catholic Bishops slam the deportation policies of all the countries that deported these illegals to the U.S.?

Throughout history there are certain aspects of human civil life that are connected to religion, and other aspects of life that are controlled by civil laws passed by the legislatures of established countries. When the USA was founded in accordance with the US Constitution the power to say what the US immigration and nationality laws would be was granted to the US Congress. The Congress has since passed immigration laws that require aliens, anyone who is not a citizen or national of the USA to comply with those immigration laws. All developed countries have such immigration laws. In that respect aliens who enter the USA must do so legally, and if they enter the USA with a temporary visa must comply with the terms of that visa including departing from the USA when their admission time period expires. Aliens who essentially sneak into the USA or are smuggled across the international borders are not complying with the immigration laws from the get-go. Both classes of such aliens are therefore in the USA in violation of the immigration laws. In addition aliens who are in the USA on both temporary and permanent resident visas who commit and are convicted of serious deportable criminal offenses in the USA who are discovered to have serious foreign criminal records, once found in the USA are subject to arrest and deportation. All are entitled to a hearing before an immigration judge in a US immigration court and be served with a final order of deportation before they are actually deported. There is no such thing as “mass” deportation, every deportation is accomplished individually after the alien being deported has been afforded “due process” individually and is found to be a deportable alien. All illegal aliens found in the USA are subject to arrest and deportation. When illegal aliens without known criminal records are found in the USA and are arrested by the immigration authorities, those aliens are told that they also have the opportunity to request to be allowed to depart from the USA voluntarily in lieu of requesting to be placed in formal deportation proceedings, and most illegal aliens from especially Canada and Mexico who have crossed the border from Canada or Mexico unlawfully have usually requested to leave the USA voluntarily and are transported in custody to a border port of entry where they are released into Canada or Mexico. That has been USA law in one way or another for well over one hundred years. My mother immigrated to the USA about one hundred years ago from a European country. I have her original foreign passport that contains a US permanent resident visa that allowed her to legally enter the USA. I also have her original alien registration card. She never would have been able to get on the boat and travel across the Atlantic Ocean to New York if she did not have such a passport containing a valid US visa and that was a hundred years ago. What is going on now with illegal aliens being arrested and deported is nothing new. What has happened is that the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats have politicized the immigration laws, claiming that all illegal aliens no longer be subject to arrest and deportation or that illegal aliens with no known criminal records should no longer be subject to arrest and deportation, but instead be legalized, be granted eventual US citizenship and of course be registered as new leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat supporters and voters. Common sense will tell you that if the immigration laws were changed to allow those Democrat proposals that the billions of aliens, especially from the so-called Third World, most of them poor, uneducated, unskilled, and unable to financially support themselves in a modern society, once told that once they gained illegal antsy to the USA that they could simply stay, with the Democrats allowing them to access all forms of public assistance, welfare, and free healthcare, that the USA would be “flooded” with such “New Americans” as the Democrats call them in unlimited numbers, with the USA then unable to defend the US borders or administer any sort of effective immigration control laws. The reasons that the Democrats are all for unlimited mass illegal immigration to the USA now and in the future is to “jack” up the population numbers in Democrat run areas and cities where Democrat political candidates are bound to win future congressional elections is to gain as many new congressional seats as possible through the congressional redistricting process, and to gain as many millions of foreign born “New American” voters as possible to keep the Democrats in permanent political power able to transform the USA into some form of socialist utopia.

The Catholic Church can supply the money to these illegals before they come to the United States. Let the poor people stay in their own countries and the church can build them houses, feed them, give them well paying jobs. End of Story

#13, I am done. This is just one more reason why I joined an Anglican Church of North America parish last year. It’s very conservative, very active, very welcoming and the service is more like the old Catholic mass than anything I’ve experienced in a Catholic Church in years.
