Former President George W. Bush and his family are reportedly planning to retake the Republican Party from President Donald Trump once he is out of office, according to a recent report.
There are allegedly “rumors” stirring that there is a “plot to end the so-called ‘Bush Exile'” as part of an effort to take control of the GOP from Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) policies, according to the Daily Mail:
Now, rumors are stirring of a plot to end the so-called ‘Bush Exile’ and take back the GOP from the so-called scourge of Trumpism.
Behind the scenes, and still with deep connections around the country,

We've already had two Bush-league presidencies from people named Bush. That's enough. There ought to be a law excluding several generations of descendants from becoming president. We don't need any royal families.

Yo, “W”: you have more in common with Obama than any Republican. Go back to Texas, sit on the front porch of your ranch - and shut up!

Seriously? A "former Bush official" unwilling to give their name, and Michael Steele listed as sources for this article. What total nonsense! Bush can forget about it, as MAGA has moved on, and fully intends to leave the Bushes in exile. We already have a do nothing Republican Congress that has done nothing, and intends to do nothing. Trump and MAGA are all we have.

Laughing out loud was my first reaction. No Bush can be trusted. I remember it was a Bush cousin that "interviewed" Donald Trump on a studio shuttle with a tape recorder conveniently hidden inside his coat. The "interview" that gave us the infamous "Grab them by the p---y" scandal during the height of the 2016 campaign.
That weekend our local Trump campaign had a booth at the gun show at the fairgrounds. Trump's comment was the #1 topic. Yet I turned every concerned person around by pointing out the "reporter" had a hidden tape recorder, they were just two guys riding a tram to the next studio when the "reporter" asked a loaded question, and Trump gave him an answer in pure guy-ese. It was not fair to hold against Trump an old quote, made in a situation he thought private. The final nail in my argument was to point out the "reporter" was a Bush cousin.
The Bush family is never to be trusted. They're not welcome in MAGA land.

#5, Rovin’ Karl? That’s my bet.
“ Bush revealed he felt that Trump “lacked the ‘humility’ necessary to be an effective leader.”
Yeah, W. Like your “humility” was leadership. /s

GEORGE H.W.Bush was a decent man, too genteel for the times, and chose not to mount a vigorous reelection campaign in 1992. His greatest gift to our nation was Clarence Thomas. Never forget that. Bush was also the best prepared person ever for the presidency.
George W. Bush was trapped in a terrible time in our history. He was not a bad man, and tried his best.
We should not hate on them.
But the Bush clan is history.

Not a chance in Hell it's gonna work! The Bushies went way beyond what Patriotic run of the mill Americans want from their government! The Bush family needs to show more love and respect for the United States.

Recall HW's SOTU speech in 1991 when he called for a new world order. Later on, W was right in line with it. No thanks to any more Bushes. The Bush clan brings absolutely nothing to the table.

If Republicans wanted someone like the Bushes to run, they should just run a Democrat and avoid any confusion about their future direction. Maybe Republicans should merge with Democrats if they feel they need to be like what Bush has become.

There’s a Nathan Bush announced who announced his intention to run for Governor of Maine. He's definitely a Bushie Republican, who has relied on his last name for his success. The NY Post had a story on him a few days ago, and aside from the details about a problem with his first wife, theres very little on his resume. He did a start-up with a data provider in the healthcare service area, but he mostly was just the face of the organization. He was the person they held out to talk to investors, not a real mover. The work was done by someone else, who went to work for the Obama administration. The NYPost article didn't say what he had done since 2017. He's just another Bush, and I don’t think we need him.

I regret ever voting for any Bush!
They are globalists and the CIA connections of the old man are the root of the problem.
The same thing that happened to Jeb will happen here.

An historical note: After his presidency, Ronald Reagan remarked that his biggest mistake had been going along with amnesty for illegal immigrants. But personally, I think his biggest mistake was selecting George H.W. Bush to be his running mate in 1980. Jack Kemp was also on the short list for VP, and had the gipper chosen Kemp instead, he would have won in 1988 and dealt with recessionary conditions far better than GHWB (who went along with Democrats' prescription and *raised* taxes), and we would never have had a Clinton presidency. And the Bush family would be nothing more than obscure deep-staters to this day.

I'm in complete agreement with #24. And #25 is correct that the Bushes are globalists, never really conservative, or anywhere near as pro-American as Reagan or Trump. Nevertheless, GHWB beat Dukakis; even more importantly, GWB beat Gore and Kerry. They had their uses, but that was then. We have stronger alternatives now. No dynasties.

Really sounds like totally made up BS to me. George W has pretty much disappeared since 2008. I suspect he is content to be a private citizen.

Well, I can see that the Democrats would be in full support of such an event transpiring.
After all, they were able to use and abuse them way back when things were much less contentious. Just imagine how today's version of the Democrat party would romp on Republicans.
I suspect some are very jealous President Trump is actually getting things done for the United States' benefit despite the constant attacks trying to put road blocks in his way.

As others have said, I will never, ever vote for a Bush again. And to have that disgusting, dumb traitor and radical Leftist Trump hating rat, Michael Steele be your front man? Who the hell thought that was a good idea? The same dead brains that were part of the Bush administrations. No more Bushes, no more rhinos and no more globalists. We are done with the crap that got our country into the sorry state it was in until Trump became President. God bless him every single day.

Anyone who believes Michael Steele is crazy. He's a liberal Dem if there ever was one, even when he was supposedly a Republican. As for voting for George W., I would definitely vote for him again, if the choice was Bush v Gore and Bush v Kerry. It's scary to think of man, bear, pig or don't you know who I am heading the country for 4 years.
