Celebrity astrophysicist Neil deGrasse

The headline read: “If We Really Did Have a ‘Creator,’ He Certainly Wouldn’t Have Been Very intelligent.” Say what?! The headline -- and story -- were on a site called The Daily Galaxy, of which I know nothing. But the piece and its banner were spawned by a remark Neil deGrasse Tyson made during one of his many public talks/interviews. At one point, Tyson actually stated, “If we had a creator, I’d have to say that the creator is pretty stupid.” Unlike Neil deGrasse Tyson Himself, of course. I mean, he’s brilliant. Tyson also magnanimously stated: “I have no problems, if as we probe the origins of things, we bump up

Get Your Own Dirt One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist (Tyson) to go and tell Him that they were done with Him. The scientist walked up to God and said, “God, we've decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t you just go on and mind your own business?” God listened very patiently and kindly to the man. After the scientist was done talking, God said, “Very well, how about this? Let’s say we have a man-making contest.” To which the scientist replied, “Okay, we can handle that!” “But,” God added, “we’re going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam.” The scientist said, “Sure, no problem” and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt. God looked at him and said, “No, no, no. You go get your own dirt.”

The idea that the limited, temporary, human brain should be able to understand the unlimited, eternal, Gods' plans never ceases to amaze... Does Tyson believe he is the equal of God? At best, Tyson is one little tiny speck of God. And if there were a billion Tysons, or a billion of any us, or a billion of all us, God would still be all alone... God is all there is

I'm going out on a limb here but when that time comes, I don't believe he'll be OK with it.The LORD will provide him with a very long flashback to the exact moment he sealed his eternal fate. No matter how educated, in fact, because they are educated and think they are superior, they look out at a working universe, billions of years old, complex beyond understanding, and because it is so wonderously marvelously complex, that no individual can hope to understand all of it, even if they lived multiple lives, because of this, they conclude God is stupid. This only confirms my own observation that DeGrasse and others like him are to arrogant and stupid to appreciate God's works, and are the kind of abysmal bottom feeders that invent theories with faked data because they can't conceive a different result. I've never understood Mr. Tyson's credentials, as it appears he holds some kind of equivalent of "participation trophy" in Astrophysics education. He didn't cover himself in glory at the University of Texas PhD program, and left with a lowly "MA." There's something quite odd about his academic credentials after that too, without writing a single paper of note, he was able to obtain international support as a PhD student from European institutions. For some reason I've always smelled a leftist humanist beneath under his Tam. Bill Nye, the Science Stooge, being the other such person. ------ If only Tyson were courageous enough to debate a man very much his senior, that being Oxford Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, Dr. John Lennox. (website here: https://www.johnlennox.org/ ) Tyson would experience the Convicting Ministry of the Holy Spirit, perhaps for the first time in his life, but also perhaps for the last time of what remains. It might well be the last chance he would have in this life to accept Our Lord Jesus Christ's Saving Work on his behalf while hanging between heaven and earth on a Roman Cross. Upon breathing one's last, there will be no other "chance."

Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" was one of the delights of my childhood. Big ideas, beautiful music, and a wonderfully literate history of science. Sagan was wrong about many things, but he got that T.V. series right. Sagan once wrote a beautiful essay about how deeply he missed his parents, and how much he wished he could be reunited with them someday. It was a gentle, empathetic look at why so many people believe things science can neither prove nor disprove. Carl Sagan was a thoughtful, learned man. who made significant contributions to human knowledge and our culture. Neil deGrasse Tyson is none of those things. He runs a planetarium and his mouth. I've yet to gain one insight from listening to him. To paraphrase Winston Churchil after being admonished for insulting a fellow MP, "The honourable Member believes himself to be a wit, and he's half right."

The decline and fall of the modern German Empire 13 replies

Germany, the region that once pushed back against the entire Roman Empire, has self-immolated and will soon be no more. It’s a sad and useful reminder about the destruction that leftism has wrought across the West. If you examine a map of the Roman Empire at its peak, one thing you might not have noticed is that the Romans never made significant inroads into the regions held by Germanic tribes, the area that became modern-day Germany. This wasn’t just an oversight on Rome’s part or a carelessly missed opportunity. It happened because of one man, Arminius, and the Battle of Teutoburg Forest in 9 A.D.

One reason that many Republican voters took a shine to Donald Trump in 2016 was the way he showed no respect to the national chattering classes of the Democrat-media complex. George W. Bush was a kinder, gentler Republican -- and they compared him to Hitler. No matter which flavor of Republican was elected, the "objective" media savaged him. We've reached the 20th anniversary of deadly Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf of Mexico, which killed an estimated 1,836 Americans. But misinformation landed first. NBC and MSNBC tremendously hyped Democrat Mayor Ray Nagin's "Today" show estimate of 10,000 dead in New Orleans.

Chicago’s mayor spent the weekend thundering about “democracy,” “fascism,” and the Constitution. Then he showed up on MSNBC and—under the hottest spotlight of his tenure—stumbled over the simplest question in public safety: would more cops on the street make Chicago safer? Joe Scarborough asked it five times. Brandon Johnson couldn’t say yes. He filibustered about housing, mental health, and youth jobs until he was forced to mutter that the police must be “fully supported.” Translation: with Trump threatening federal muscle, even the most progressive mayor knows he can’t keep sneering at cops.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is seeking to dismiss a $100 million lawsuit filed by the Proud Boys over the political persecution they suffered in the wake of the January 6th protests. In a court submission on Monday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) asked for the lawsuit to be dismissed, stating that “the malicious prosecution claim lacks merit; and the United States is not liable for punitive damages.” The filing undercuts the argument long supported by the Trump administration that those who were imprisoned following the January 6th attacks were the victims of political persecution. The suit was filed in June by Enrique Tarrio, the former Proud Boys leader,

Once staples of every classroom, most American pencils are now imported from China, Brazil, and Mexico. Domestic pencil production has largely disappeared. Take Dixon Pencils.
