One year ago today, on August 24th, 2024, I was freshly back from three days at the Democratic National Convention. I’d worked in politics nearly half my life, starting out as an intern on Barack Obama’s campaign when I was only seventeen years old, then as a field organizer for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Before Obama won the primary in 2008, I was an alternate delegate for Hillary in Kansas’ third congressional district, one of the youngest ever in the state of Kansas.

She continued to be a typical Democrat. Self-absorbed. Believes everyone wants to hear what she has to say.

I liked her story. It takes time to wake up from delusion. Whether or not she is "self absorbed" she is still chipping away at the power of the hard left. She can bring more similar minded voters with the intensity of a recent convert than someone already in the fold. It's a good thing.

I enjoyed that. She told the truth. She let herself admit many truths. That is always a good thing. She said something very true about the current dems which is glaringly obvious to us on Lucianne, but I am not sure how many brainwashed young people realize this, the left does not allow diversity of thought. They are truly not the diversity party.

FTA: "What the public craves more than anything is authenticity."
Not if you're authentically stupid. No, the public craves rational and competent and dedicated leadership. Trump has set a highwater mark for that. Let's hope that that is the lesson learned by the public so they aren't deluded by the DimoKKKrap party's latest manufactured "authenticity."
FTA: "I’ve lost friends I’ve known for fifteen years. My toddler stopped getting invited to birthday parties. He was rejected from preschool. We even had to move to a new town."
The last two sentences are a little unbelievable- or perhaps true but just non sequiturs to her spitting the Dim Hook.

She hasn’t changed. She’s an AWFL - Affluent White Female Liberal. She just wants the Democrats to win again. If they do, she’ll have her old life back. She hasn’t embraced any of the tenets of conservative thought; she just wants things to be the the way they used to be.

This story depicts what is known in human psychology as "shunning" behavior. It is deeply embedded in our subconscious and serves as a survival mechanism that distinguishes between "us" and "them". "Us" is our clan, cult, or sect. "Them" is an outsider, infidel, heretic, or demon. Anyone who has ever been a Scientologist or known a Scientologist who left Scientology immediately recognizes the response. Disconnection. Slander, Threats of violence, or intimidation. This is why it is so hard for people to leave cults and be cut off from friends and family. It is irrational and destructive, but it is the hallmark of weak minds seduced by a group psychology that crushes critical thinking and individual choice.

She never said she's become"red"; just that she isn't "blue" anymore--so, what is she? I don't think she knows, and that's sad. With as many great examples in MAGA, she should have a clue. *Sigh* still a work in progress but she's on the path, at least.

I don't think she's gong to support Trump or any signficant part of his policies. But, she has started thinking for herself a bit.
A start in the general right direction.

Its pretty clear that she was a Democrat because of loyalty to the party, not loyalty to the country. I don't think she really understands that. She left because that party is on a path to oblivion. She sees policy as a way to win in politics, not as a way for the country to win.

Nice to see the diversity of thought and opinion on this thread.
She's right, diversity is not simply skin color. To think so is showing bias and stereotypes since it insinuates everyone of a particular color skin is supposed to act and react to situations in the same manner.
Today's Democrat party is as brutal as she describes and it won't change. What hopefully happens is the RNC is able to pull over those more moderate and conservative Democrats into the Republican side since today's Democrat party does not have any actual place for either moderates or conservative Democrats any longer.
Just look at those "demonstrating" and agitating against anything they don't like. Is that the average Democrat voter? I don't believe so, but it is the current elected establishment so they need to be persuaded from fostering that notion. To realize their vote for that candidate is affirmation and support for those extreme ideas and policies.
Only need 5-8% of them to shift then more and then more.

The one thing the Democrat Party can never be is Authentic, they have to be the polar opposite of authentic in order to fool their supporters into thinking the party is something it isn't.
However there is hope for Evan because I don't see a nose ring.

Sounds like she is still Blue, but wants some positive changes in order to improve the devastating image, and intends to use her substack as a vehicle to influence the kind of image she wants. The majority still seems to think doubling and tripling down on the lies using their infiltrated institutions, corporations, media outlets, etc., is the best route.

Dear Evan,
I read your story and was very moved by your honesty; and I am sorry that you found out that you meant nohing to the people who meant a lot to you. It isn't called a liberal hivemind for nothing. The second that you decided to use your OWN mind and make your OWN decisions made you their enemy. Dem followers are so proud of their education, so high-faluting with their sense of moral superiority, that they are totally unaware of their gigantic blindspot-they support policies detrimental to our country as long as it doesn't affect them directly. But once it does, just like you, it doesn't take very long for you to be ostracized. This is a monstrous pys-ops campaign we allowed to happen under our noses and we tolerated it under FREE SPEECH. We just didn't recognize how yelling FIRE sould be so artfully disguised.

“You’re saying that from a place of privilege” she chided me.
Having your eyes opened isn't privilege, but blessing.

Looks like she swallowed a "time-released" red pill. So she's a work in progress... okay. Far as the "friends" go -- my politics haven't changed much in 40 years, but I once had friends that decided to go bat-guano crazy to the left, and they are the ones who decided to cease the friendships, not me. Not that I'm complaining -- I wouldn't be able to handle the insufferable preaching from them now that I should join them in their politics. Reality is those kinds of people aren't anybody's friends, and anyone who has "lost" them should probably count it as a blessing instead.

Curious that she never mentions how becoming responsible for her own child might have affected her outlook.
Seriously, I wonder how any rational parent could support a party that believes the State has the right to brainwash your child, and sexually mutilate them to conform to the brainwashing, and do both, either with or without parental consent.
If you needed any more evidence for Satan's activity in the world today, i rest my case.

She still doesn’t get it, and she hasn’t changed one bit. She’s not saying she left the democrat party because she sees that MAGA policies are good. She’s not saying she loves America. No, she’s simply upset that the dems left HER. She’s not upset that the dems hate America as founded and have been working for over 100 years to destroy:
-Our schools
-Our health care system
-Families
-The English language
-Our cities
-Our farmers
-Our borders
-Freedom of speech, religion and even thought
-Firearms rights
This woman is still a liberal and will always be one

There is no fixing the dem party. They are not only misguided and stupid, they are hopelessly corrupt. That truth is leaking out all around them.
The reality is that Leftism, no matter how structured, is a societal dead end. It is fundamentally flawed and cannot be made workable. Thus the claim that "true socialism has never been tried" is an insanity and we should avoid Socialism like the plague that it is.
Evan sees the failure of the people that she associated with, which is true and bad enough. But she doesn't grasp the pointlessness of Leftist thought.
